Michael Moore is part of the top 1%. Moore hates capitalism and himself is a capitalist. He makes a product and sells it for profit. His credibility is zero.
@SPAD58 Ron Paul is a multimillionaire -- as well, so? Making a product and selling it is a far cry from making billions manipulating the stock market, over-priced healthcare and the contracting machine (DoD). Moore would like more spending focused on people. Like universal healthcare, repairing roads/bridges and the like. This is much more 'credible' than Paul asking for corporations to have no regulating authority above their own.
so a poor person who falls down on the street should just go to singapore and get some cheap heart surgery. how cynic can you be? the market just does not work in healthcare.
I like ron paul, and im canadian if i was american i would vote democrate, but im sorry, the US needs universal health care.. living my whole life in a country that has universal health care, i coulnd't imagine not having it, we all take care of each other and thats how it should be!
@Yeeeooo000 because we're all people? in our common humanity? rich and poor - it's all artificial. the system is designed that way - great wealth is accumulated by holding a great number of people on the edge of poverty. how can we say a poor person does not deserve medical care?? it's anti-human! so, if you're a fetus you have a right to life, but once you're out of that uterus you're screwed?? great policy, america - the world is laughing at you, not with you!
Look at all you people fighting each other.. it's not about your little childish arguments and racist comments.. its about our freedom as the PEOPLE.. and your pathetic cunts/ fuckers comments etc etc are not needed.. and won't help our cause. Use that bullshit against the 1%! do some more research on how your freedom will be taken away slowly but surely!
@philonthis20 LOL! good one ... are you proud of yourself? The fact you asked me to suck your dick.. and nigger all in pathetic attempt at what? Even in other videos you call people fags.. LOL.. I think you may be bottling something up. Pathetic.
"If something is free, but you don't have it, it is irrelevant." I admit, common sense can be zapped away with the overabundance of drama injected television and news programming being paraded in front of us. It is nice to hear a common sense perspective on healthcare. Ron Paul = Common Sense
@xTRUExJUGGALOx he wants to legalize all narcotics...he wants to give everyone a break on taxes if not completely get rid of them ...he also wants to audit the fed and see if weve been fucked under our nosesd this whole time..idk its endless....im just sayin despite what someppl here may have said i respect "most" juggalos for being free minds and spirits id just hope they voted for someone who was also a free minded individual
SuperB3NJ4M1N, I think it's popular because Michael Moore has been a figure in our popular culture who has practiced dissent on American issues. Ron Paul and Michael Moore are actually upset about a lot of the same issues, but their ideas of government are vastly different. I hold both in high regard, but have also found it strange that Michael Moore has not been willing to hold Obama to the same strict code of ethics that he criticized Bush for, since Obama has extended many Bush policies.
I see why Ron Paul is attractive to Americans but he is badly misguided. For example, he is against inefficiency and wealth inequality while being for no regulation of the markets at all. Monopolies form naturally under capitalism and out goes his beloved competition. Why should a private monopoly be any less efficient than a state owned one? Answer: it isn't. And that's just the first thing off the top of my head. Ron Paul is a utopian.
Please read: Michael moore is a complete fucking hypocrite. GUESS WHAT... he has 50 fucking million dollars. Michael does not give a fuck about the poor. Don't listen to his bull shit anymore! RON PAUL 2012!
@MrAzn056 Yes.. sure the fact he has money means he is a hypocrite :P , I dont know if he gives money or not but it just sounds like the mere fact of him being rich makes him a hypocrit.
just move to australia we have free health care , benefits for the unemployed , and our country isnt broke like usa ... biggest economy in the world cant afford free health care / lmfao ... USA you suck !!!
@mrbooyeah Too bad Australia has an immigration system that's even tougher than the U.S. :/ If you're too poor to have health care in the U.S., chances are you are not a likely candidate to emigrate from the U.S. to Australia, unless Australia's immigration policies have relaxed much since I looked at them a decade and a half or so ago when my bf at the time and I pondered emigrating there.
@dubblecheeze I read your comment to ChibiabosWolf where you said that "government is inefficient that's why we're in debt". Well, the major financial crisis was caused by private corporations and also by government. BOTH. Private enterprise is wasteful in different ways. E.g. CEO salaries, bonuses and other perks which are way out of proportion to his/her contribution to the company. Privatise profits, socialise losses? No way. Health, though, it can be argued is a special case.
@dubblecheeze You clearly don't understand how it works, at least from my experience in Australia when I was a student. First, only minor cases have to wait. Anything serious or life-threatening gets immediate care. Second, waiting 2 months for minor issues is better than NEVER getting any healthcare because it is too expensive for low income people to afford. You are obviously not seeing this through the lower paid in our communities, or you have no experience of other countries healthcare.
the rich have money to pay and the poor dont. what abou those whos make anywhere from 10,000 a year to 70,00 thousand a year. those peple need more help than anyone in american.
I happen to like Ron Paul BUT... Yes, we do indeed have the right to expect something from our government. We have the right to get back what it takes from us in taxes, etc! If that return is in the form of socialized medicine then so be it! At the moment what we're getting back is a world that hates us because our government is spending the money WE GIVE IT to fight all these foreign wars and to support all kinds of despotic rulers!
how many people go to the hospital and know they cannot pay the bill on go for something small and have no intention of paying it back. the hard working middle class people have an obligation to pay back that money while others dont.
The other GREAT thing about national health care that must not be overlooked is this: There are poor people in every society, but when the poor and most vulnerable at least know that the most important thing they have, their health, will be taken care of then it makes a HUGE difference to the overall feeling/mood/atmosphere within the society. But when there is no national health care the poor always carry with them the deep anxiety that at any moment they could be in a state of hopelessness.
@aimlessignorance Corporations should have to pay taxes!! I mean don't they, and haven't they always done, all the "donating" -at least to all their choice political candidates running for office? Then they get to spend all our tax dollars on all their projects (like bailouts of criminal banks and corporations and war...) and now we have to make cuts in everything to help pay for their bad choices...we really should be holding them accountable for their actions
@CravenMoorehead101 santorum is a money hungry fake..this motherfucker doesnt have you in mind when hes taking millions from special interest ppl...its close minded ppl such as your self that got us fucked in the first place....so what? vote santorum so he loses to obama, get real! RON PAUL 2012
@aimlessignorance Santorum's got more of a chance of beating Obama according to the polls! He's only down by 9 points, while Ron Paul is down by like at least 11.
@CravenMoorehead101 well since im the only one name calling , i will say im am sorry for calling you a turd..but seriously ? santorum mite win, but dont think for a second he will change anything...time after time he dogs obama , but hes views are just as shitty as bush jr. ..santorum is for the rich and im for the poor , so thats where we differ...i really think some ppl need a push to become independant..this craddle to the grave shit is running us down rite along with the war
@CravenMoorehead101 What?! Beat a corporant servant by supporting another corporate servant? The above vid proves Ron Paul serves health care profiteers, not people...
Kind of reminds me of Obama supporters in 2008, with their sad "hope" that Obama would be different, even though his corporate funders were the same backers of Bush! The same corporations funding both parties makes America a one-party nation just like China. Time to break away from ALL corporate servants while we still can.
@krph33 also ron paul is part of the republican party, too. that means he happens to be part of the same supposed evil 2-party system that has the candidates bought out. don't act like he's such a goody-goody.
@CravenMoorehead101 How does liberally spending tax dollars on bailouts for criminally-orientated corporate institutions and war (which is the way Republicans, along with most Democrats, spend our tax dollars) come to be called "conservative"?
@krph33 santorum is against separation of church and state, he is against abortion, against gays in the military, against gay marriage, he would be tougher on iran, and he doesn't want our children to get indoctrinated in college. does that fake conservative ron paul do any of that? i think not.
@CravenMoorehead101 well im a youth and i dont want a war, but if there is a threat, gays, muslims, blacks, hispanics..who gives a fuck as long as their fighting for our country....i hope santorum gets his ass kicked just to be saved by a gay muslim!
@aimlessignorance and i hate these fake christian/catholics who are pro war...i believe the good book says do good to thy enemy or something along those lines, but in no way does the bible say fuck poor countries out of their resources and murder ppl in the name of liberty...get a fuckin grip separation of church needs to happen, majority of the usa isnt even religious, so stop bible beating
@aimlessignorance america is a christian nation and you know it, and we will not become a nation of tree-hugging pacifist pussies when santorum becomes president
@CravenMoorehead101 no we can all become piss poor walmart shppers..your a jackass and i honestly dont even think your aware of the facts ..santorum has changed wind everytime someone sneezes , hes fake, hes def not conservative....who in THE FUCK thinks a country trillllions of dollars in debt needs to be spending money anywhere other than here..and why do we need to go to war..let england or britain do some work for once...ohh wait they never agreed to this war....
@aimlessignorance let england or britain do something / 1st its the same place ...2nd / england took the brunt in world war 1 and 2 while usa got in towards the end / your comment is plain stupid !!!
@mrbooyeah just stupid...are you serious..why dont you donate some money to the war then?...like come on , how broke do we need to be to just say wer done....and we only jumped into the world war beacause we sent the lusitania to its demise....the ppl [americans] didnt even suport the war untill that happened..just like the towers ...and if all these ppl are for war why dont they sign up unstead of bein pro war pussies, and christians who swear they mean peace but are pro war and choice..
@mrbooyeah AND SINCE UR SUCH A FUCKIN SCHOLAR , go read a book on war and economic gain... the world wars we produced our own weapons and bullets and that led into reopening smelting factories and mills...i kno for certain that now many of those same factories are being outsourced to russia and our weapons are being produced by anyone and everyone but us...so get ur mind rite before you jump into a 3 page convo with a 2 sentence shit stain
@aimlessignorance The US controls trade because they control the sea and the air. Imperialism is not dead, and markets don't live in a vacuum. It's important to bear that in mind. (Not polemicising here)
@aimlessignorance i mean i understand we control trade due to our navy and airforce but i just dont understand how ppl still think we are making money from this war...because as anyone can read [for those who can read] we are losing money daily, and there hasnt been a single gain in a verrry long time, and not a damn thing is cheaper here considering we put the effort in to protect trade routes
@mrbooyeah and dude u arent even american but ur play list is all american music? support your own country before you come talkin trash , and your opinion doesnt count cause u cant vote! ...get a fucking life!
@aimlessignorance bwahahaha another angry american hahaha just because ya countries fcked dont take it out on me ya wanker / bwahahaha ... i support my own country and what does that have to do with talkin trash you idiot / and why type shit i know im not american you twat / i come from best country in the world AUSTRALIA .... free health care no major homeless problem , you guys got more young blacks in jail than university ... your country is fcked up
@mrbooyeah if ur country is so great, why is you have nothing better to do than talk trash on an american election...so go to an australian video and leave ur bullshit logic there..and yea dude our country is fucked up..no duhhhh and yea more blacks in jail? whos fault is that? and whos the idiot when ur retared ass is ON AN AMERICAN FOUNDED SITE talking to an "angry american" and "wasting your time" argueing with a "twat" u my friend are a dumb cunt
@aimlessignorance now..wasnt there something important you had to say? other than that my comment is stupid? like how ur grown ass man and u have beyonce in your playlist...AHAHAHAHA, is that your dick riding playlist...considering your country was a desert wasteland and i havent heard a fucking peep from australia? what pussies NOW GET OFF THE QUEENS DICK and do something usefull other bable about health care on an american election video
@CravenMoorehead101 ? I'm not sure I understand you right but here goes: You like Santorum because he believes the church & state should not be separated? Well that's where we have to part ways (you must've been real happy with Bush?)
But abortion?...there is a pedophilia epidemic going on that is being completely ignored by the anti-abortion movement. If you don't care, then forget I told you. But without first guaranteeing the right not to be raped, right-to-life is pure satanic evil!
45,000 Americans die every year due to preventable causes from lack of access to regular health care. Source: Harvard School of Medicine - news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2009/09/new-study-finds-45000-deaths-annually-linked-to-lack-of-health-coverage/
Ron Paul usually does his homework, but fails miserably here. "Private" (corporate) health care kills 15 times as many people every single year as happened once on 9/11.
Every single one of his ideas is economically sound...
He only listens to one thing, the constitution...
He knows that so many problems that we solve directly today (illegal immigrants) can be solved with a better economy (we dont care as much for illegal immigrants so long as we have a good economy...instead of what EVERY other candidate wants, taxpayer $ to go to the border...)
I know it's a longshot America, but can you trust the most trustable of all candidates.
Tell Ron Paul to go study the health care systems in Australia and Britain. Pure capitalism is brutal, cruel and insensitive. The best economic systems have to have some socialist elements. It makes sense. The healthy and strong and those working pay a small amount to protect and care for the unhealthy, the weak and those who cannot work.
On this issue Ron Paul is misguided. When I was a student in Australia everyone who was working paid a very small amount into a national health fund (about 1% of salary) and everyone got free medical care, all the way up to heart surgery. It works because the percentage of people seriously ill is relatively small. Without this health system the poor could not get treatment for many things. People can still choose private health insurance, but it is much more expensive. National helath is great.
@rosemaya48 it definitely is but the way things are set up in america and how we have a larger population it just isnt a very good idea at the time. things get more liberal as time goes on so it will definitely be a product of the future, its just very inconvenient at the moment as most americans hate raising taxes and our economy cant handle that kind of reform in my opinion. that being said i do love socialism and to some extent communism, but i support ron paul in the united states.
@rosemaya48 I'm 20, and have no health care because I cannot not afford; nor get the government provided care because I am too old. I went to the hospital, got screened for my problem and waited for hours to be told by a doctor that he could not help me because he does not know anything about my problem. Two weeks later I receive a bill for $600. SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE.
@rosemaya48 Sorry my friend. I don't want to be told by the government that i have to wait a 2 months to a year before i can get medical treatment. When i get my treatment is not a decision i want the american government to make for me.
@dubblecheeze It's very simple. Resources are limited and there are two ways of distributing them. You either ration with money or time. You pays your fee or you wait in line. Nothing sinister about 'government' healthcare.
It's not so much the idea of having universal healthcare. Personally, I don't think it would be a disaster to have that, but the real issue here is how a lot of these big healthcare companies rip people off and how freaking expensive everything is! So even if you work hard, you are well educated, you work full time and then some, you are still likely to have high bills for healthcare services, that's a fact we live with today. These are greedy, reckless, companies getting away with stealing.
Yea, Michael Moore is right Capitalism doesn't work for the entitled, lazy or ignorant people. That is why those who go school and work at it get good grades & those who don't fail, and who do you think get the better jobs when they get older.
Well, intelligent people can't always use "easy to follow" words. It might take a little investigation, look up a few of those words! Isn't it worth it to understand an issue?
@GoKinetic Maybe you could follow your own advice and look at how well the health care system works in Canada and other places? Micheal Moore's documentary about health care is a good start. No? Forget I mentioned it then.
problem with the nhs, you can TAKE + TAKE without putting anything in + take NO responsibility for your own health.not everyone can find a job or is healthy enough to work but everyone can/should make choices to improve their health. medications + treatments are so expensive, everyone should do their best to limit their need through taking responsibility for their OWN health. poor diet, smoking, alcohol, drugs cost the nhs billions, everyone has a responsibilty to help reduce their need/cost
@thetruth8720 Now all that's left is to apply that same "responsibility" logic to monitering all the health care freeloading and drug-profiteering from the very same pharmeceutical corporations that, well, support Ron Paul's republican party (not that they don't provide funding for the Dems too -I know they do).
@wayne17700 Government shouldn't run healthcare. Every government employee that i know says the same two things. I really don't do shit at work and no matter how terrible a job i do they really cant fire me. I will be transferred to a lower position and receive the same pay. There's no real accountability. I don't the inefficient government to run my healthcare. I would rather have someone that will loose business if they are inefficient. There is no consequence for govt. negligence.
@dubblecheeze HMO CEOs don't do jack shiznit and get $10 million apiece. 97 cents of every dollar going into Medicare/Medicaid goes to actual health care (doctors, xrays, etc.), but only 70 cents of every dollar paid to an HMO goes to actual health care, the rest to 'administrative costs' (mostly obscene exec pay and stockholder dividends). Government is 10 times as efficient as HMOs in terms of health care provided per dollar paid into it.
@ChibiabosWolf I agree we need healthcare reform, but you are wrong. The government does nothing better than the private sector. You think they do a great job managing Arlington National Cemetery? And those are people who died for their country. They can't even keep track of dead bodies. If an employer group is dissatisfied with their healthcare organization they pull they account. There is no other option if the govt. runs it. You will be at their mercy.Govt is inefficient.Thats why we are in debt.
@dubblecheeze You fail to establish any point (granted you only get 500 characters). How much better do corporate interests do managing cemetaries? Employers are not HMO customers, employees are who get no real say in what HMO their employer gets in bed with. Government is proven to be ten times as effficient as the private sector. You are at the mercy of an HMO CEO. You can only see doctors on your HMO plan. Canadians can see any doc they want by comparison. You are spouting falsehoods.
@ChibiabosWolf If the govt was a corporation it wouldn't have made any profits in the past 13 years. Not efficient. Most healthcare in the US is employer based. Pre existing conditions are going away and many employers select what not to pay for. Not always the health care comp. You will have to see govt participating providers . I can't see Dr. Phil and have the govt pay $500 an hour. Oh, and the govt does a great job with SSI right? Stop spouting fake facts 10x's better? lol
@dubblecheeze I will say it again. I believe in reform, but i don't think you just hand it to the govt. This is the same org that was buying $500 hammers and $50 nails. They built a bridge to nowhere. They can't run Arlington. They can't control medicare fraud. The govt can't even afford to pay it's own bills. You expect them to pay yours?? It wastes BILLIONS of dollars.Private corps are more efficient than the govt. Reform the business.I don't want the govt to have my personal health info either
@ChibiabosWolf You are only spouting off talking points. You have no idea what a Guaranteed Cost policy is. You don't know anything about capitated or even ASO policies. You don't know anything about state/fed mandates or a policies situs and how they effect the benefits. And you have never heard of ERISA. I can forget more than you will ever know about health care. You just watched Sicko. Hospitals ARE IN THE GAME TO MAKE MONEY!.Reform must come from both sides. I support reform, but not yours
@ChibiabosWolf Have you ever talked to a person at Medicare? They don't give a shit They don't have to give a shit because you are not a customer. They turned healthcare into the DMV. Yeah and we know how well we are treated there. Have you noticed that you are treated like shit when you have to deal with any state of fed govt agency? Why don't you complain about the cost of treatment? It's inflated. Hospitals are in the business of making money just like HMO's. The whole system is broken.
@dubblecheeze False all around ... yes, I know people who work with medicare and are on Medicare. Medicare does not pay huge bonuses to people to pull the plug on customers in urgent need of expensive care, HMOs do. Medicare does not reject people because of pre-existing conditions, HMOs do. The cost of care in our corporate health care system versus the much lower cost in any universal health care system proves your ignorance in the assertion that "socialized" health care is the cause.
No here in Britain the NHS we take it for granted and anyone from the hobo down the street to david cameron all get the same treatment. And its the best part of socialism to be honest
The 1000 lb gorilla in the room is the national debt. Nothing else matters. We need to cut spending across the board, the military, social programs, and eliminated whole departments, like the DOE and privatize the postal systems. DO YOU GET IT? The national debt is a gun pointed at our heads--we have to find a way to solve it now, not in the future like every past president has done. NObama wants to do the same thing. End the Fed. Balance the budget. Pay off the debt.
@NightSailor Relax dude. The game was fixed. Don't stress over it. It's already over. People have been dumbed down through the media. They've phased critical thinking out of our school system. We are the last few that have the ability to analyze information and think for ourselves. I Just read a comment saying that he can't understand what he's talking about. Do you see? That's the real state of the union. Just try to find a way to be happy because the game has already been decided.
@NightSailor Spending is lower than it has been in 60 years. Spending is not the problem, the wealthy paying 15% or less while working joes pay 30% or more is the problem. The biggest single cause of the deficit over the surplus we had under latter Clinton years is loss of revenue, not spending increases. Turning public services over to corporations will make all problems much worse and deny access to the public to those services.
well, I agree with Dr. Paul on just about everything. BUT universal health care needs to be implemented in a smart way. Weather it be done by capitalism or the gov't it needs to be done. Corporatism is ruining America on all fronts.
@007Kickit I can only really find agreement with Ron on foreign policy. Trickle down economics has been tried and failed many times over, its shameful he's obviously done his homework on foreign policy but not applied the same diligence to his economic religion.
The original british people are the basques(hebrews of the bible, original europeans, atlanteans, original celts, druids, origin of R1b and of rh neg blood...a holy bloodline)
You owe alot to the basque people...but when you dont write your own history you are at the mercy of your biased historical enemies....basque is the original language of mankind and the basque man the original white man.Look it up...its called justice and recognition not glory huntin....i am not bullshittin u...grrr
I don't where I stand on universal healthcare. How do you explain France having the number one healthcare in the world (which is universal) according to the WHO?
@Da1RiSiN1sMoKe Read news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2009/09/new-study-finds-45000-deaths-annually-linked-to-lack-of-health-coverage/ ... Harvard does real, bonafide medical research and this was a peer-reviewed finding. The private health care system in the U.S. kills fifteen times the 9/11 death toll /every single year./ How can anyone defend a system that kills 45,000 Americans so that a few thousand HMO executives can pocket $10 million apiece? That baffles me.
@MegaLink117 The only way I can think they are alike is a disdain for the waste of blood and dollars these stupid wars bring, and that neither is taken seriously by 'their side' (liberals for Moore, conservatives for Paul). What else in common do you find between them?
We need Ron Paul. He sounds like the only one that really has answers where all the other just pass the question over by adding something else. Ron Paul 2012!
@masterknaster You need to dig deeper on Europe's "working" healthcare. It's not so perfect at all, it's a slowly becoming a disaster. Furthermore, it's completely unsustainable and apart from per capita mega rich countries like Norway(oil) if the taxes most scandinavian countries (considered the best socialist countries in the world) were implemented in the USA there would be a revolution overnight. Medical companies are loving their system much more than even the US.
@AussieAustrian European health care has been sustainable since the 1950s. The American health care system kills 45,000 Americans every single year simply due to a lack of access to basic, regular health care. Is European system perfect? No, but it doesn't kill tens of thousands every year from neglect.
@ButchNackley Many people live in capitalist states, make money and go on to criticise capitalism. That doesn't necessarily mean they wish to remove it; it might, for example, mean that they wish to reform it.
I know very little of Moore. Would you mind providing me with a quotation of his that says he wishes to *replace* capitalism with another economic system. He says here, "as it is defined now," it has failed. Capitalism is a huge term. You can retain socialist strains and be a capitalist.
@ButchNackley Michael Moore puts a lot of that money into making more documentaries to convey his thoughts and ideas to a wide variety of people. If he didn't make the money that he does from his films then we would have 1 Michael Moore film and that film would probably have been shown once in his community.
@KnowledgeMcCollege You think that is where his money goes? You need to do some research on the man and especially on his holdings. Hypocrite, by very definition IS Michael Moore.
He speaks of us poor 99%, while he is in the 1% himself. And he got there via capitalism...
He has gamed a lot of folks to make his fame. It appears you have been taken in by his con yourself.
@ButchNackley Moore makes no claims to not be doing well now financially. He's earned them through hard work and doesn't offshore his money like Romney. Your ignorant falsehoods make your statements meaningless and don't speak well of your character.
@ChibiabosWolf I think Romney is a snake, so to speak. I think people supporting him are foolish. As for Moore, I see him as being two faced. You question my character while praising a man that is full of falsehoods. I stand by my statements. I call it like I see it and I see hypocrisy.
@ButchNackley You see demons where none are. Point to where Moore said no one should be allowed to be wealthy ... that's the only way your claim of hypocricy would be true. He never did, so your claim of hypocricy is false.
@ButchNackley Moore doesn't condemn earning a profit, he condemns profiting off inequity from others. All of his employees have full health care. You've clearly not seriously studied his messages.
The american people don't like to hear honestly. They would rather be lied to by deceptive politicians who are after nothing more then their personal gain. Fuck obama, fuck romney, fuck gingrich, and fuck santorum. RON PAUL 2012!
@sefrzan Ron paul is a libertarian anarchist. thats why the republicans dont like him

No way. Health, though, it can be argued is a special case.
rosemaya48 2 days ago
@dubblecheeze You clearly don't understand how it works, at least from my experience in Australia when I was a student. First, only minor cases have to wait. Anything serious or life-threatening gets immediate care. Second, waiting 2 months for minor issues is better than NEVER getting any healthcare because it is too expensive for low income people to afford. You are obviously not seeing this through the lower paid in our communities, or you have no experience of other countries healthcare.

I happen to like Ron Paul BUT... Yes, we do indeed have the right to expect something from our government. We have the right to get back what it takes from us in taxes, etc! If that return is in the form of socialized medicine then so be it! At the moment what we're getting back is a world that hates us because our government is spending the money WE GIVE IT to fight all these foreign wars and to support all kinds of despotic rulers!
zenmeister451 2 days ago
how many people go to the hospital and know they cannot pay the bill on go for something small and have no intention of paying it back. the hard working middle class people have an obligation to pay back that money while others dont.
TheShootTruth10 2 days ago
The other GREAT thing about national health care that must not be overlooked is this: There are poor people in every society, but when the poor and most vulnerable at least know that the most important thing they have, their health, will be taken care of then it makes a HUGE difference to the overall feeling/mood/atmosphere within the society. But when there is no national health care the poor always carry with them the deep anxiety that at any moment they could be in a state of hopelessness.

45,000 Americans die every year due to preventable causes from lack of access to regular health care. Source: Harvard School of Medicine - news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2009/09/new-study-finds-45000-deaths-annually-linked-to-lack-of-health-coverage/
Ron Paul usually does his homework, but fails miserably here. "Private" (corporate) health care kills 15 times as many people every single year as happened once on 9/11.
ChibiabosWolf 3 days ago
Every single one of his ideas is economically sound...
He only listens to one thing, the constitution...
He knows that so many problems that we solve directly today (illegal immigrants) can be solved with a better economy (we dont care as much for illegal immigrants so long as we have a good economy...instead of what EVERY other candidate wants, taxpayer $ to go to the border...)
I know it's a longshot America, but can you trust the most trustable of all candidates.
AbortedAdult 3 days ago
Tell Ron Paul to go study the health care systems in Australia and Britain. Pure capitalism is brutal, cruel and insensitive. The best economic systems have to have some socialist elements. It makes sense. The healthy and strong and those working pay a small amount to protect and care for the unhealthy, the weak and those who cannot work.
rosemaya48 3 days ago
On this issue Ron Paul is misguided. When I was a student in Australia everyone who was working paid a very small amount into a national health fund (about 1% of salary) and everyone got free medical care, all the way up to heart surgery. It works because the percentage of people seriously ill is relatively small. Without this health system the poor could not get treatment for many things. People can still choose private health insurance, but it is much more expensive. National helath is great.
rosemaya48 3 days ago
@rosemaya48 it definitely is but the way things are set up in america and how we have a larger population it just isnt a very good idea at the time. things get more liberal as time goes on so it will definitely be a product of the future, its just very inconvenient at the moment as most americans hate raising taxes and our economy cant handle that kind of reform in my opinion. that being said i do love socialism and to some extent communism, but i support ron paul in the united states.

@rosemaya48 I'm 20, and have no health care because I cannot not afford; nor get the government provided care because I am too old. Two weeks later I receive a bill for $600. SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE.

@rosemaya48 I had the exact same experience in South Korea. A very cheap tax to pay for quality national health care.
Gyozomroka 2 days ago
@rosemaya48
Not really. Socialized medicine works temporarily, for a while, until waste, fraud, and abuse bring the system down.
This cannot be "fixed" by "reform." It's built into the system. You can't get something for nothing.
thechinadesk 2 days ago
@rosemaya48 Sorry my friend. I don't want to be told by the government that i have to wait a 2 months to a year before i can get medical treatment. When i get my treatment is not a decision i want the american government to make for me.
dubblecheeze 2 days ago
@dubblecheeze It's very simple. Resources are limited and there are two ways of distributing them. You either ration with money or time. You pays your fee or you wait in line. Nothing sinister about 'government' healthcare.

highwaytohell13 3 days ago
It's not so much the idea of having universal healthcare. Personally, I don't think it would be a disaster to have that, but the real issue here is how a lot of these big healthcare companies rip people off and how freaking expensive everything is! So even if you work hard, you are well educated, you work full time and then some, you are still likely to have high bills for healthcare services, that's a fact we live with today. These are greedy, reckless, companies getting away with stealing.

problem with the nhs, you can TAKE + TAKE without putting anything in + take NO responsibility for your own health.not everyone can find a job or is healthy enough to work but everyone can/should make choices to improve their health. medications + treatments are so expensive, everyone should do their best to limit their need through taking responsibility for their OWN health. poor diet, smoking, alcohol, drugs cost the nhs billions, everyone has a responsibilty to help reduce their need/cost
thetruth8720 3 days ago
@thetruth8720 Now all that's left is to apply that same "responsibility" logic to monitering all the health care freeloading and drug-profiteering from the very same pharmeceutical corporations that, well, support Ron Paul's republican party (not that they don't provide funding for the Dems too -I know they do).

I don't the inefficient government to run my healthcare. I would rather have someone that will loose business if they are inefficient. There is no consequence for govt. negligence.
dubblecheeze 3 days ago
@dubblecheeze HMO CEOs don't do jack shiznit and get $10 million apiece. 97 cents of every dollar going into Medicare/Medicaid goes to actual health care (doctors, xrays, etc.), but only 70 cents of every dollar paid to an HMO goes to actual health care, the rest to 'administrative costs' (mostly obscene exec pay and stockholder dividends). Government is 10 times as efficient as HMOs in terms of health care provided per dollar paid into it.
ChibiabosWolf 3 days ago
@ChibiabosWolf I agree we need healthcare reform, but you are wrong. The government does nothing better than the private sector. You think they do a great job managing Arlington National Cemetery? And those are people who died for their country. They can't even keep track of dead bodies. If an employer group is dissatisfied with their healthcare organization they pull they account. There is no other option if the govt. runs it. You will be at their mercy.Govt is inefficient.Thats why we are in debt.
dubblecheeze 2 days ago
@dubblecheeze You fail to establish any point (granted you only get 500 characters). How much better do corporate interests do managing cemetaries? Employers are not HMO customers, employees are who get no real say in what HMO their employer gets in bed with. Government is proven to be ten times as effficient as the private sector. You are at the mercy of an HMO CEO. You can only see doctors on your HMO plan. Canadians can see any doc they want by comparison. You are spouting falsehoods.
ChibiabosWolf 2 days ago
@ChibiabosWolf If the govt was a corporation it wouldn't have made any profits in the past 13 years. Not efficient. Most healthcare in the US is employer based. Pre existing conditions are going away and many employers select what not to pay for. Not always the health care comp. You will have to see govt participating providers . I can't see Dr. Phil and have the govt pay $500 an hour. Oh, and the govt does a great job with SSI right? Stop spouting fake facts 10x's better? lol
dubblecheeze 1 day ago
@dubblecheeze I will say it again. I believe in reform, but i don't think you just hand it to the govt. This is the same org that was buying $500 hammers and $50 nails. They built a bridge to nowhere. They can't run Arlington. They can't control medicare fraud. The govt can't even afford to pay it's own bills. You expect them to pay yours?? It wastes BILLIONS of dollars.Private corps are more efficient than the govt. Reform the business.I don't want the govt to have my personal health info either
dubblecheeze 1 day ago
@ChibiabosWolf You are only spouting off talking points. You have no idea what a Guaranteed Cost policy is. You don't know anything about capitated or even ASO policies. You don't know anything about state/fed mandates or a policies situs and how they effect the benefits. And you have never heard of ERISA. I can forget more than you will ever know about health care. You just watched Sicko. Hospitals ARE IN THE GAME TO MAKE MONEY!.Reform must come from both sides. I support reform, but not yours
dubblecheeze 1 day ago
@ChibiabosWolf Have you ever talked to a person at Medicare? They don't give a shit They don't have to give a shit because you are not a customer. They turned healthcare into the DMV. Yeah and we know how well we are treated there. Have you noticed that you are treated like shit when you have to deal with any state of fed govt agency? Why don't you complain about the cost of treatment? It's inflated. Hospitals are in the business of making money just like HMO's. The whole system is broken.
dubblecheeze 2 days ago
@dubblecheeze False all around ... yes, I know people who work with medicare and are on Medicare. Medicare does not pay huge bonuses to people to pull the plug on customers in urgent need of expensive care, HMOs do. Medicare does not reject people because of pre-existing conditions, HMOs do. The cost of care in our corporate health care system versus the much lower cost in any universal health care system proves your ignorance in the assertion that "socialized" health care is the cause.

We are the last few that have the ability to analyze information and think for ourselves. I Just read a comment saying that he can't understand what he's talking about. Do you see? That's the real state of the union. Just try to find a way to be happy because the game has already been decided.
dubblecheeze 3 days ago
@NightSailor Spending is lower than it has been in 60 years. Spending is not the problem, the wealthy paying 15% or less while working joes pay 30% or more is the problem. The biggest single cause of the deficit over the surplus we had under latter Clinton years is loss of revenue, not spending increases. Turning public services over to corporations will make all problems much worse and deny access to the public to those services.

RON PAUL 2012 !!!!!!
Szuperits 3 days ago
well, I agree with Dr.

Larry King was right when he said we need a mix. Your grandma can't care for herself, let society pitch in. Capitalism won't fix that.

I don't where I stand on universal healthcare. How do you explain France having the number one healthcare in the world (which is universal) according to the WHO?
Da1RiSiN1sMoKe 4 days ago
@Da1RiSiN1sMoKe Read news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2009/09/new-study-finds-45000-deaths-annually-linked-to-lack-of-health-coverage/ ... Harvard does real, bonafide medical research and this was a peer-reviewed finding. The private health care system in the U.S. kills fifteen times the 9/11 death toll /every single year./ How can anyone defend a system that kills 45,000 Americans so that a few thousand HMO executives can pocket $10 million apiece? That baffles me.

Moore and Paul are alot alike in alot of ways
MegaLink117 4 days ago
@MegaLink117 The only way I can think they are alike is a disdain for the waste of blood and dollars these stupid wars bring, and that neither is taken seriously by 'their side' (liberals for Moore, conservatives for Paul). What else in common do you find between them?
ChibiabosWolf 2 days ago
We need Ron Paul. He sounds like the only one that really has answers where all the other just pass the question over by adding something else. Ron Paul 2012!
CMLittleboot 4 days ago
I disagree with Paul on this one. Healthcare is great and works perfectly...just look at Europe. Moore is still an asshole.
masterknaster 4 days ago
@masterknaster You need to dig deeper on Europe's "working" healthcare. It's not so perfect at all, it's a slowly becoming a disaster. Furthermore, it's completely unsustainable and apart from per capita mega rich countries like Norway(oil) if the taxes most scandinavian countries (considered the best socialist countries in the world) were implemented in the USA there would be a revolution overnight. Medical companies are loving their system much more than even the US.
AussieAustrian 3 days ago
@AussieAustrian European health care has been sustainable since the 1950s. The American health care system kills 45,000 Americans every single year simply due to a lack of access to basic, regular health care. Is European system perfect? No, but it doesn't kill tens of thousands every year from neglect.

Moore is terrible hypocrite.
He makes millions using capitalism to condemn capitalism.
No one should take anything the man says seriously.
ButchNackley 4 days ago
@ButchNackley Many people live in capitalist states, make money and go on to criticise capitalism. That doesn't necessarily mean they wish to remove it; it might, for example, mean that they wish to reform it.
I know very little of Moore. Would you mind providing me with a quotation of his that says he wishes to *replace* capitalism with another economic system. He says here, "as it is defined now," it has failed. Capitalism is a huge term. You can retain socialist strains and be a capitalist.
jcb21691 4 days ago
@ButchNackley Michael Moore puts a lot of that money into making more documentaries to convey his thoughts and ideas to a wide variety of people. If he didn't make the money that he does from his films then we would have 1 Michael Moore film and that film would probably have been shown once in his community.
KnowledgeMcCollege 4 days ago
@KnowledgeMcCollege You think that is where his money goes? You need to do some research on the man and especially on his holdings. Hypocrite, by very definition IS Michael Moore.
He speaks of us poor 99%, while he is in the 1% himself. And he got there via capitalism...
He has gamed a lot of folks to make his fame. It appears you have been taken in by his con yourself.
I have no respect for the man whatsoever.
ButchNackley 3 days ago
@ButchNackley Moore makes no claims to not be doing well now financially. He's earned them through hard work and doesn't offshore his money like Romney. Your ignorant falsehoods make your statements meaningless and don't speak well of your character.
ChibiabosWolf 2 days ago
@ChibiabosWolf I think Romney is a snake, so to speak. I think people supporting him are foolish. As for Moore, I see him as being two faced. You question my character while praising a man that is full of falsehoods. I stand by my statements. I call it like I see it and I see hypocrisy.
ButchNackley 2 days ago
@ButchNackley You see demons where none are. Point to where Moore said no one should be allowed to be wealthy ... that's the only way your claim of hypocricy would be true. He never did, so your claim of hypocricy is false.
ChibiabosWolf 2 days ago
@ButchNackley Moore doesn't condemn earning a profit, he condemns profiting off inequity from others. All of his employees have full health care. You've clearly not seriously studied his messages.
