@Buypainted try putting the sticky edge of the tape on a surface thats slightly dusty repeat this a few times and it should reduce the stickynuss or however its spelt :-)
@vash1053 Tape your hand before putting it into the piece, this will remove some of the glue from the tape and it will be harder for it to rip out the paint. Or you could just buy good tape ;D
I have always liked this method for doing power and force weapons but i would have liked to have seen it painted purple as i am used to force weapons being purple and power weapons being blue, but it really doesn't matter that's just what i am used to. I also like the gradual shading method for when you don't have an air brush.
@Buypainted i managed to do it with a brush the paints didn't look as blended as yours did this could be A) because I used a brush or B) because I am a noob painter and it took me about an hour to get the it done but thank you for your response, and for your help in this painting technique
@Frozenkoldfury You can pick up an airbrush and an exhaust hood from many places online. The hood is like a giant vacuum that you paint onto that sucks the air and fumes through some filters before shunting them outside. When I first started up with my airbrush, I got my hood from I think it was dickblick art supply, though it might have been one of many other places too
@Retribution83 Yes, I know. Many people just cannot imagine, that this tutorial has been created without inspiration of APJ. In a fact - using a masking tape and painting detail in two stages is so incredible sophisticated technique, that is just impossible to paint it without inspirarion :P
Thank you for your Tutorial. That little extra effort did help. I knew how to make power weapons using decals. the way I make mine is almost the same way but I do not own a airbrush. I like how you put your own spin to it. Thank you for all your hard work. Keep it Kool and Real Peace!
What about the folk who dont have airbrushes -.-

My masking tape pulls the paint off every time, argh.
vash1053 5 months ago
@vash1053 one of following will help: let the paint dry a little longer OR buy another tape.

@vash1053 you can also try to not pressing the tape harder against the paint (once is very dry).

how much for a decent airbrush.all the supply's to maintain it and a compressor?
nothung2145 7 months ago
@nothung2145 He has made a seperate video on that.
In short, get the cheapest double-action airbrush pistol you find and invest the rest of your money in the best compressor you can afford.

what kind of tape do you stick on the sword? I didnt understand it
Trycestyles 9 months ago
@Trycestyles Ordinary paper masking tape.
Buypainted 8 months ago
@Buypainted Is it a risk that paint is removed when you pull the tape off?
Papaken0 8 months ago
@Papaken0 it depends of tape. If glue is very good - it may happen.
Buypainted 8 months ago
@Trycestyles dummy its just that paper tape u use in arts nd crafts i forgot teh name lol i think its masking tape

do u need to add water to ther paint
baja5b889 10 months ago
@baja5b889 I don't add water. I add Vallejo Thinner
Buypainted 10 months ago
@Buypainted thanks but could you add water instead of the paint thinner?
baja5b889 10 months ago
@baja5b889 I suggest using thinner. The water makes paints more vulnerable to damage
