The "mild" 3' chop is combining w/ large swells, and considerable propulsion, which tend to intermittently propel this craft in a skyward direction. The mere fact that this boat is handling these sea conditions "balls to the wall" says alot for Apaches. How does the saying go? "It ain't braggin' if you can back it up." Is it fair enough to say that this is a whole hell of a lot of back up?
@Lynchfan88 This is my fave race video. Too bad there's not one from the Powerboat P1 Malta race two years ago. They raced in 15-20s and almost every boat broke. I believe the 41' Chaudron boat was one of the few that made it to the finish line.
@mwgoldman11 No.......try 4-8.........(first part of video) I know who is calling the action from the chopper and if he says it's 4-8 then it would be wise to believe him. No 3 footer is going to sky a 41 Apache.
@unsane I think he should come back and do it again. Unfortunately he won't have any Apaches to brag on unless Predator is still racing...Oh well there's always his other fave boat...Skater. :D
This boat was purchased and relocated to the Great Lakes. It was lost in a arson fire at the warehouse it was stored during the winter along with some other ex-raceboats in a private collection.
It's a damn shame really, a piece of racing history gone.
