they dont really project any real feeling in this song. It should be radiating with emotion, such a powerful song. seems like "Anita" is focused so hard on pronouncing "badly" the words than actually singing them. and well over acts her part. sorry but if you want to see a good performance check out the performance by jamiee37. Now that's fantastic!

no one should be criticizing this. i'd like to see the people with negative comments do a better job than this or even DO this. you're not the ones up there doing it. i think this is done very well and i love the vocals...it's my favorite out of all the other a like that/i have a love videos posted on youtube.

Agatha actually has blonde hair... She used to babysit me. Lauren does have dark hair. She was the choreographer for The Music Man at Bigelow. I didn't know Agatha very well, but Lauren is SO nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVED West Side Story! It was AMAZING!!! Newton North has FANTASTIC drama. I'm so excited for next year!

...i dont know if your an instrumentalist, but this orchestra had 3 rehearsals, and is composed 80% of STUDENT musicians...its one of the hardest musicals to EVER play...this is also the end of hte show, a long show that requires CRAZY stamina, usually not possible with 15-17 year old kids.

i dont expect them to hire pros. that would be ridiculous. Schools have better things to spend money on. But there could be a tape of just the instrumental parts available that could be used.

But if you hire a recording your pretty much defeating the purpose of a high school show. I think it is MUCH better to attempt to play it...than to just give up and hire instrumental parts...Its a LEARNING experience, because its HIGH SCHOOL...

what you dont understand is that the musical isnt just about the actors.. but also the pit musicians...why not just get a recording of the musicians?then why not have the actors lip synch? wouldnt it ensure that the singing is perfect? the point of the show is to incorporate high school students....and to perform this well on only 3 rehearsals as was said before is pretty amazing....especially for high school students

That's a dumb thing to say. High School companies NEED/SHOULD use their own orchestras because just like the theatre population needs to study their craft of acting the orchestras need to practice their craft as well. So saying that their orchestras shouldnt be used is like saying they should deprive them of first hand experiance.

Plus, they really cant afford an alternative after paying royalties for the production itself.
