She's promoting the secular Islam summit? LOL Most of the attendees/speakers there were anti-Islam and anti-Muslim. Is this manji's way to get Muslims to "reform" themselves? ..by attending and promoting events which promulgate hate speech against Muslims. As you can see, she is more into self promotion than "reform" and promotes events where people call violence upon Muslims in general.
Mehakk: i think she says that self reflection in the Qur'an allows her to rationalize why she doesnt need it. In 700 AD Arabia I can see tribal reason for vieling and modesty - men just want sex. But moderate civilization women are safe unhijabbed-burqa-veil.
Its the literalism of Qur'an that keeps Islam in medieval ages....and that I am afraid...will never change...and we will see hundreds of millions killed in the clash of these two civilizations until one supresses the other.
In my opinion Irshad Manji is a Weak person. My wife is a strong woman, Ingrid Mattson, who is the President of ISNA, is a strong woman. This woman is articulate and very intelligent, but she wishes for a non-Islamic lifestyle. She is, afterall, a self-proclaimed lesbian! Do not follow her!

I'm sorry but I doubt your wife or even Ingrid Mattson could compare to her. And what is she doing this for, not even for herself but to reconcile the many human rights violations being done under the banner of Islam - she's doing this to prevent these wrongs, and to make Islam better for its practitioners.
