Do people not know that news reporters read off a screen? This girl is not some rare exception. I don't even see how that's a legitimate complaint against her. She also doesn't even have to play tons of games to be good at her job of reporting on games. Shigeru Miyamoto barely plays video games yet has made some of the best games. He plays musical instruments and spends time with family and pets.

She should definitely find a way to show her audience a little respect by showing us that she gives a s*** about what she's doing. What distinguishes a good newsreader from a bad one is precisely the passion, personality, charms, charisma and respect for the audience. I'm interested in the news, but Mark might as well use a voice synthesizer.

@mrkjamlin The point of the teleprompter is that no one knows you're reading. Otherwise, you might as well just read it from a sheet of paper. But definitely, as many here have already pointed out, if she learned her lines by heart (which is what she should have done for starters), she would have some much more room for acting naturally. So I think she should improve and fast, cause she doesn't live up to CGR's quality. Mark doesn't only review by entertains, and I expect the same from her.

i think the problem with her vids is that the presentation is too static. I think a large part of this problem is due to the setting though. She looks like she is doing a monologue, and she is of course, but i think the key to the youtube format is to forget the camera is there, and talk to the viewer like they are sitting across the table. I think her vids would be a lot more convincing if she would be sitting behind a desk or on a couch. Do something more relaxed, it is videogaming godamnit!

CGR fans are different. We trust Mark, because we can tell he has a real passion for games. Shel was always against turning Comic Con into the monster it is now. As a teen, I never could understand why he was against the committee's decisions to make the con bigger. Now, I think I understand. It's just become another business expo and the fans are not viewed as fans anymore, but as consumers. And that's why I stopped going a few years ago.
