The reason I stated Cypress and not Cyprus was to bring this point forward, resolution 1847 was misspelt & rewritten and was 11 days late during that time 17 people died.I am British, but again someones nationality is an issue to you. 1. Both Turkish & Greek Cypriots want unification.
2. Both believe that their governments use them as political pawns.
3. Both regard themselves as independent from Greece and Turkey.
4. On UN Day they both meet at Ledra Palace and embrace each other

Look my friend, lets not shy away from the fact that prior to the intervention, the Greek sectors were clearly oppressing the Turkish sectors. Lets take 4 March 1964 as just one example. Then they put forward ENOSIS. Was Turkish government supposed to accept this? Would yours if it was the other way round?

The Greeks maintain the areas for us and funding is helped by your government. We are there as part of NATO not UNFCYP and is agreed by all.

I can see your trying hard to blame the British for the Cyprus problem.
Let me end by saying, Whilst my rubbish is in my house its kept in place.
When I throw it out, the rats attack it and make a mess of it. I then have to go pick up the pieces and keep an eye on it. If they attack it again Im there to stop them.
Why? Well Im bigger, stronger and far smarter than they are.

Not really. Muslims are Muslims, full stop. Even the Turkish Cypriots, supposedly the most "liberated" of them all, still call us "gavurlar" or "infidels". I can't understand why the West is so tolerant and even supportive of a religion hell-bent on our destruction.

Why the fuck should a Muslim minority be given a veto over the running of our government? If that's case, they should have one in Britain too. They are fast approaching the 18% of the population they are in Cyprus, if they aren't there already.

Yes, I certainly do agree with President Makarios's 13 constitutional amendment proposals? Why wouldn't I? You can't have a situation where a minority of less than a fifth of the population has an effective veto over every single government decision. It doesn't happen anywhere else in the world, so why should it happen in Cyprus?

If that's how the Cypriots feel, the only solution is for all foreign powers to withdraw their forces from the island immediately. That means Turkey first and Britain second.

The only reason the UN are still in Cyprus is to Maintain the status quo. This has been requested by both sides. The Greeks (main land) want us there more than the Turks that I can assure you.

I'm not talking about the UN forces, who are there as peacekeepers after all. I'm talking about the Turkish occupation forces and the British military bases. Why on earth should Britain retain such a remnant of the colonial era in perpetuity?

Which mandate? Plenty of UNSC resolutions describe it as an illegal invasion and occupation. I'm not familiar with the text of Resolution 1847; which part was misspelt and rewritten? Yes, you are British, and that has a particular resonance with regards to the tragic modern history of Cyprus. The British must share a large share of the blame.
