  • i wastn born than lol

  • By no means the finest single that The Bay City Rollers ever made during the course of their illustrious career ...... and it actually sold fewer copies than any other single released by the band between the end of 1973 and '76.

However, "Love Me Like I Love You" was not a bad track ...... and it was written by members of the band (unlike many of their previous, bigger hits). It showed that the B.C.R's were perfectly capable of writing songs good enough to reach the Top 5 in the charts.

  • @TheEctomorph The single before this was a better example of what the boys could do - this sounds like a lame and cynical retread of the Martin & Coulter songs from 73/74 with the By Bye Baby drum pattern thrown for good measure. The beginning of the end, alas - and this video is "ill advised" at best, but typical of a Tam Paton idea

  • alan looks soooooooooooo gorgeous in this vid

  • awesome!!

  • Hi if your listening then this really sums up how i feel about you!!!

  • was not this the 1st IAN mitchell clip

    SOME thing bout BALLS

  • @raelene101 yeah this was how they introduced Ian after Alan's departure. I thought it was really well done! good way to heal the broken hearts of the teenage masses! 'o)

  • aww woody looks so happy on the swing!

    <3

  • rollermania pure hysteria

  • What a beautifle Guitar-solo !

  • oh uwielbiam BCR

  • Oh Alan!

  • what a mistake it was alan left- it was never the same. still love the rollers and wish you could turn the clock back.

  • your right!

  • Omg-I remember seeing this video on top of the pops & crying when Alan was replaced with Ian..

  • Me too!! I saw it on Countdown tho - in Oz. I cried for about a week over Alan leaving! but then Ian was so cute! 'o)

  • Hiya-those were the days when it all mattered so much! Still does!!! They keep popping up every now & again in the press..most of the time for not so good reasons..I just love remembering how much fun it all was-my kids just haven't gone through such 'scene' as Roller mania-the music, clothes, shows etc.

They think I'm crazy-especially now I've just bought 6 BCR cds to drive them mad with!!!! I'll get them back for all that awful rap the like!!!

  • Unicorns thats so funny & true about Alan, Ian & the kids [ that wretched rap stuff they like these days!] I watch all this & it just reminds me of all my friends & the things we used to get up to-so innocent! We all loved the Rollers-even my mum got into them!

  • Alan looks sooooo gorgeous in this!! It was the beginning of the end when he left..Ian was cute-but blink & you missed him. Never really registered the other one..Pat??? Wish the 'classic' line up would get together & tour-how fab would that be???

  • Cool...

  • thank's TorpeLang...

  • I miss them so much! Great memories, LOVE Les, still to this day!

  • Love Woody and Ian in this video clip!!! :-)

  • i think the kids of this generation will miss out on wot we had in the 70s my kids bag me but who cares life was easier then

  • I totally agree. Life seemed a whole lot less complicated and the kids back then seemed much happier and less 'tainted'.

  • Yes! I believe it was a "transition video. I sure wish I had seen it in tha States at the time. We in the states just didn't get enough t.v. coverage of the BCR. Not like the rest of the world did. Love them all! So handsome & cute! Thanks for sharing this rare treasure!!!

  • Re;mamahama-You think you missed out?! After 76 the Rollers pretty much dissppeared here in the UK. All we heard about was how they were doing this or that across 'the pond'. Its only since youtube that we were able to see any of this stuff..you guys also got 'rock n roll love letter' as a single-we only got it as an expensive import! Actually Japan had the best deal-the Rollers toured there in the 'classic' line up way into the 80s!

  • lol, I can't believe the humiliating crap these poor men were put through.

I have this song on my ipod, btw *winky thing*

  • Thanks for posting! And check out the YouTube search THE ROLLERS SHOW. It's a really fun song!! Rollers Forever!!! thanks.

  • I would hold their hands any day of the week. LOVE the white pants, too. See ya later. Love, Gina.

  • Erm, I think there is Alan right at the beginning of the video(in the middle of the cirlcle). It doesn't make sense and this was supposedly recorded after Ian joined the band and indeed he appears later on in the clip. Can anyone explain this please?

  • I just noticed the same thing! I thought it was my eyes playing tricks on me....Maybe it was Alan's farewell video and the introduction of Ian??? If anyone knows the answer let us know!

  • I believe that is exactly what this is; Alan's final performance (at that time), and Ian's first. Although, that is just an observation, I could be wrong. I don't think I am though.

  • Check out the disco ball. Its gotta be the 70's.

  • Thank you for posting this! I like this song, and for the time, the affects are kind of cool.

  • Cool and so lovely song!!!

  • like the song but dont know about them holding hands

    all that time.

  • Amazing to see this again after all these years - thanks for sharing

  • I have wanted to see this clip for ages since I read about it in Wayne Coy's book. Thanks for posting it!!

  • Thanks TorpeLang ! ... you seem to have a treasure chest full of surprises which is evident everytime I come back have a look for BCR clips. Thanks so much once again - I'm lovin' this :0)

  • Yup! there sure is a point! very interesting! :-) Ian is such a doll! but Alan was very handsome aswell! ;-)

  • i aLWAYS loved this song!! thank u soo much! but is there a point to the video :)

  • Danielle, I think the point is to show what happens when a director takes acid! ;-) LOL!! I love this song too...we unfortunately didn't get this one in America back in the day. I never heard it till the late 90's!!

  • TorpedoLang strikes again.

  • keep rollin

  • ´The girls in my schoolclass loved this song, but we, the boys, liked more the B-Side of the single...Mama Li!
