The animal sounds in Avatar are some of the same ones from Jurassic Park, right? I haven't seen JP in a long time but I can recognize the t-rex roar anywhere! :P Anyway, I love this scene, I get all anxious watching it though. All my favorite chase scenes make me feel that way :D

@Cordar why would'nt it? you have an alien like creature that probally has alot of instincts in the jungle and is possibly able to overpower anyone with a gun and atleast dodge it.

@Wraith19129 Because the ability to kill from range is an extremely rare trait in nature, and nonexistant in most areas. And there is no animals on Pandora shown that can do it either. Instincts are useless when dealing with something which is completely unknown. It'd make more sense if it simply soaked up the bullets and retreated due to injuries if it did not kill it.

@Cordar First of all: Most predators on Pandora have thick carbonfiber-armour, some are even indestructible. The Thanator has probably dealt with humans before.

There are some animals on earth, like lions, bears or tigers, who mostly disarm the target before killing it, basic instinct.

3D was ok. Nice environment, but I wouldn't call it mind-blowing overall. Not 3D SUCKS!!! Besides, all the movie has to offer is the realistic 3D graphics, no original scenario or exciting performances.

I saw this in imax3D and imax2D but Imax 2D was way better because you can get to see every bit in the move with high brightness colors. When I watched in 3D, those darn glasses had patches and low light filters.

@Usul573 yessir, this film is groundbreaking in the CGI department, the whole film is about 85% CGI. The only time you see real actual things is when you're in the human encampents with actual human actors, any time you're seeing only Na'Vi it's all CGI. This film is beautiful...
