hey malek i love this beat yet when i go to purchase it, under the title 'movin on up' its not the same beat. if you could get back to me id greatly appriciate it. BIG UPS man i love the work!
@Bludshot21 The beat in the beginning of the video while I'm talking is called "Movin On Up"! I don't have the Bob Marley beat up for sale. However, you got me thinking maybe I should! I'll let you know when I put it up for sale.
@DChosSwag You know how he played to a metronome in the beginnging when he first started tracking it? Well, in all recording programs..there is a grid that lines up perfectly with that metronome...if you quantize something..it means it puts it right on the grid..or in other words...makes it perfectly in time..
@DChosSwag in underground hip-hop and certain other types of hip-hop you'll find most producers don't quantize to get that "bump". a great example is J Dila, an extreme example would be people like Samiyam and 14kt, who purposely play extremely off the grid just to get a ceratin feel to it. its an acquired taste, i love it.
@BeyondtheEndMetal Its just a preference..I hear both styles out there in the mainstream music..i just prefer everything to hit perfectly...but yes, it would have a human-istic feel to it..as if it was really recorded with real instruments...
not gonna lie i didnt expect this to be good cos you aint usually a sample kinda guy and it takes a certain ear to make it good but you killed it bro.
We'll now. This is some super dope, in your face sick sampling right here haha. The Flip is dope as hell, and once the extra instrumentation comes in shit killed it! Great job.
idk what everyone is talking about, this is not off beat at all ? This is one of my fav tracks you've done since all i do is samples lol. Crazy dope man nice work
@Tru3L1fe us hip hop people like the drums slightly un quantized, and no thats not off beat, there was a world before quantize and this style of music was defo around before it. sounds fine the way it is.......this is my opinion thou so dont take offense to this

what would be a reason to not quantize the beat? would it sound less natural if he did quantize it, or what?
