When you look at the costumes and the dance rituals, it resembles native american indians particularly The Navajo indians. Try researching on the costumes of Native Navajo Indians (Southwestern part of the US like Arizona, New Mexico, etc). There are some Navajo Indian tribes in the Northwestern part of North America where they originally came from and migrated south. I remember buying a poncho in Baguio and even the woven blankets that resemble Navajo clothes in the US.
bilib ka talaga ti kinalaing ni Filipino... awan pulos makaatiw, awan pulos makaartap, awan pulos makaabak!!! pat iaso nakisali payen. how i wish i could reach Kalinga someday.
How can i keep the pot on my head while i am dancing? I wanted to do this dance here in the US. . . oh my, i need to learn all of these. I am an Igorot in blood but grew up in the south. I love my heritage. I have to learn more on this dance. I love it.
thoroughly enjoyed this performance.. i give you folks two thumbs up for such fantastic display of culture. i think it is important to keep ones heritage alive and not get diluted as to some of the mentality of some people out there and loose on what they really come from...
OMG.,parang ako ang d makahinga sa sayaw n ito...ang hirapppp....salamat na treasure p itong sayaw n ito....kahit matagal n me d2 sa canada i proud to be a filipino..
such a splendid thing to see real villagers performing the dance unaltered , a showcase of true culture on its grassroots. many of this dances were bastardize because they are ignorant of the implications it creates if these cultures were presented in ill and unbecoming manner. kudos to the organizers of the festival and thanx for upLOADING.
nice. ei anyone knows where I can get folk music somewhat for this? I mean kasi we'll be performing this dance too. Any suggestions of where I can get a kind of instrumental for this?
i been to lubuagan and i love the place and the people there most specialy the family SACLAG. Knowing one of the national living treasure is a fulfillment to me!!! Go on LUBUAGAN!

Native Apache Indians also wear the loin cloth (bahag) if you look at Native Americans costumes.

YamiChan31 3 years ago
4 but I must admit the videographers were naive about getting near. A costly mistake. Intimate shots are far better.

agree :DD hehe
