This is actually really great. I wouldn't use it in the long run, be it influences people to work with drums in the audio view, which allows them to do more experimental things such as reversing and warping samples. It really changes my world when I got out of using midi for drums. It all depends on style in the end though. Great video.
I actually thought this was a great way to use the mute tool. Of course you could just use impact, but if you wanted to experiment differently..this looks like an "Hip Hop Ejay" approach..which benefits in alot of ways, depending on how you THINK of your music. And if you dont have a midi controller for impact..this seems better, considering acid users make beats in this very fashion. Very versatile. Good video.
@MGTheFuture Thanks for the positive feedback. I am always thinking of new techniques, some are useful and other's aren't! I just thought this was sort of a cool approach.
I don't get it.. what is the advantage of using this technique? If you find out that some parts in the mix wont fit and you have to change them you are running into a lot of work.. can't find one single situation where this would make sense... Using Impact and it's grid view beats this any time.
@Senj1n Right, I understand what you are saying. This is really just an editing technique that might be a way to stimulate a different way of looking at the arrangement view and learn about the editing tools. Clearly, using an instrument like Impact and a midi track would be more flexible.
@lilacwriter I just got Studio One, and this is a really awesome... I am new at recording and I was wondering how to import a third party drum sequencer track into my Studio One software. Thanks!
@AsaphProject The easiest is probably to output the track as a wav file to you desktop. Set the Song tempo in Studio One to the same tempo as the sequencer part. Next just drag the wave and drop in on into the arrangment in Studio One. There are probably several other ways depending on which 3rd part sequencer you are using.

very good hint m8!
you donT need a drumsequencer at all this way.
using waves in a sequencer makes the drums even tighter.
thank you
