@OrangeBandanna See, there's a pretty big difference -- killing off characters we give no amount of shit about is one thing, and it's a thing that hardly makes stories any better.

What made FF7 amazing was the shock value of ripping a character from your party away when no RPG has ever done it before. It made you care for the character deeply, and it was sad because you didn't WANT Aerith to die, you wanted her to live just as much as Cloud did.

Mitsuru's dad, however? No one gave a shit.

@aceandalsostuff I just never find myself actually caring about these characters because I don't know them personally. In Persona 3, however, I got to know every character. I saw their emotions, studied their ways of viewing life, their psychology. They were well written and complex, and I'd personally say their views on life changed my own. It touched me on a deep emotional level. Compared to FFVII, their characters' writing, Flat. Also, dude, are you forgetting Shinjiro? Rude.

@OrangeBandanna I'm not forgetting Shinjiro, and while he was an interesting character and all, he just came in to leave. You had him in your party for about five minutes and then he died, personally I never cared for them.

And I don't know, I really don't want to criticize Persona because it is a great series, but I never gave any amount of shit for the characters, and I can't say the same for FF7 (as well as eight and ten) which made me completely care for them.

@WWWWWWVWWWWWWWVWWWWW The guns they are using are called Evokers. They use the evokers to call out and bring forth their persona or inner demon. They use swords and bow/arrows to fight the enemy cuz it's Japan. In Japan, you can fight demons with regular weapons .XD

And the reason why the P3P's opening song "Soul Phrase" may sound like an anime opening is because it probably was meant to give off that feeling. Meguro may have composed it as well, but the singer of that song is the same guy who sung some songs for the Persona 3 anime "Trinity Soul." Which is probably why they got the guy to sing Soul Phrase as well.

Me, I prefer this but like the other as well. He also covered the game's ending theme.

@NanaMorning Persona 3 and 4 are for the PS2 system. Persona 1 and 2 are for PS1.

The charactors from Persona 3 dont transfer into Persona 4, and the stories are all different, like Final Fantasy.

If your thinking about getting any of the Persona games, i suggest persona 4. Its best for newcomers, in my experience.

It depends now on the user Because of the little Changes in the battle system as healing ailments and the famous moral blows when you have good S.L. And more on the P4 + the fact that the portable version lacks on anime cutscenes kinda fucked up my experience but again its on the users taste

For me personally P3 lacks in difficulty and in the PSP version atlus compensates over that by obviously adding a maniac difficulty like the same way they manage on FES

@Metatronflaren May sound reasonable, but it would also mean Atlus would've lost money on P3 (the game), because some people (me not included) would be more inclined to watch a 26 ep anime rather than play a game for over 100 hours to figure out the story. Must admit though, it'd be cool to see P3 and P4 adapted into anime - though I would watch it after playing the game ;)

It's why, say, the .hack//SIGN and .hack//Roots series are preludes to the .hack// and .hack//G.U. games. :)
