@Hawelo29 , Not Necessarily. There are beta's that aren't that different from the game, and then there are beta's that are absolutely different from it's original and final. For example, The Super Mario 64 beta. That game is probably one of the most difference beta's ever seen. And when that game was in beta mode, they didn't even have the voice actor so they used a stack of Warner Bros. Cartoon voices. LITERALLY!

I'm thinking that the shine sprite coins are like blue coins that you have to search for, the big guys are called Tramplin' Stu's and they were unused in the final, I think they were going to originally do a different gateway to levels that wasn't a rainbow paint smear, so that could explain the goo coloring. that human girl looks like a beta Peach, wearing a sun hat and blue dress.

I gotta say - this footage looks amazingly "beta"! Or, to use a more contemporary term, it "screams" beta. It's amazing how much they changed the layout of the place! The paint also looks rather different, and the gigantic walking thing looks pretty interesting. The graphics are, naturally, "beta" graphics - not much texture, rough polygons, etcetera! The gameplay looks solid, though. I can't help but wonder what the original vision of SMS was set to look like...

Would you believe this trailer is comprised of footage that they shot in Mario's home town in 2000 when they were still looking for ideal locations to shoot the game? In an interview conducted around the game's release, Mario said that this session went on for about a week. His Mother know of it so she could just look out of her window and she could see her little Movie Star jumping around.
