Just to let you guys know, this isn't a remake of Metroid. This was made for an exam final at an institution. Due to the time constraints, he had to just use Metroid as an example for level design and gameplay. The person you play as isn't Samus, but Hydra, an anti hero of some sorts or other. I forget now, but she's being taled by the Galactic Federation.

Its quite cool and shows that more can be done with the 240x160 screen if its cropped.

Right for starters keep samus as the character u control, next keep the background but ad more graphics to the rooms and keep the original sprites but ad more detail to them and items change their look to what super metroids items looked like and put different classic metroid tunes with every new place u go to and for godsake call it metroid not orn and the sounds add more so it feels like your playing metroid and not some shit remake

The gameplay looks great. The sprites are extremely fluent and the engine works very well. I don't really like the sprites and sounds, and who is that that you're playing as...? I really like the 'Brinstar" concept of other rooms in the background.

Hey anon. They already re made the first metroid game. Its called Zero Mission and its a thousand times better than this for one reason- They took out all the frustration of playing a game that was on the original nes console. Games evolve, they don't need to be remade into the same thing with different characters and updated graphics. You forget that this game was around in the late 80's and not the late 90's. A lot has happened since then. Plus the original game is boring.

@DDRUTOU I agree with you that it was hard, I had never played the original so I got it for VC, and I'm stuck in kraid's lair because the enemies there do around 15-20 damage, and when I die I start with 30 health, and when I DO make it to Kraid he kills me. Now THAT is what I call a challenge.

The website states that the character, named Hydra, is a space outlaw running from the law. She/he takes refuge on Zebes. This apparently takes place several years before the first Metroid.

I've played this before. Managed ta get the Morph Ball, Missiles, Morph Ball Bomb (turned into a melee attack in Orn) and once or twice the Varia Suit. The Ice Beam and Wave Beam were removed from what I hear. And yes, you can wall jump in it. Other than that, I don't remember that much. I'll have to play it again.
