  • Yeah put Vaughn Gittin in that mustang and I bet he'll dominate that mosquito!

  • @AnimaAction not unless he refits the mustang lol

  • Mustangs are supercool cars. And btw just because its been beaten by the exige s doesnt mean its slow. That little thing will kick many supercars butt

  • The mustang can literally haul more ass :P

  • mustangs and all american cars suck... they can go in a streight line and thts it.

  • i like both cars. it would be nice if they got a decent driver for the stang though.

  • roush will all ways kick ass and that was not even a 427R

  • who would want to drive around in that fly? gimme the V8.

  • Atleast we dont talk gay, ello mates. No we talk the right way. hello with an h douchebags

  • search:Top Gear lap record beaten by a Caterham

  • the roush it is just as fast as a new BMW m3. this video is stupid, 2seat road leagal gocart vs a big 4seat car. a caterham will beat a ferarri and a exige to death on that track if you look that it that way. and it is ceaper than exige..

  • listen to me dude... did you read any of he's books?! For ur information he's an author of every single joke...

  • everybody knows a mustang understeers, meaning at the limit, the front end plows straight thru the turn. When clarkson shouts "he lost it" the mustang is wagging its tail. That's oversteer, only doable by applying excessive power to cause the rear end to lose traction, so clearly, the front tires remain in control, but the rears don't, unnatural for a mustang.

  • The only reason why europe is making tiny displacement engines with 4 turbos and 5 valves/cylinder is TAXES! The USA taxes cars based on purchase price, Europe on engine displacement. The only time a large displacement engine is at a disadvantage is at idle, where (except for diesels) a larger engine burns more fuel. At highway speeds, a turbo porsche or subaru gets worse mileage than a corvette. It's called "gearing", a corvette going at 2000 rpm, vs a porsche at 4000.

  • Okay, okay... enough of the 'which has more hp per kilogram, litre or spark-plug. All that is completely irrelevant when compared to two, vastly more important factors.

    1) Holy SHIT coefficient: No one gives a pinch of coon shit if you drive by in yet another fat-assed yankee tin can. Drive past in an Exige, however, and you are guaranteed to turn heads.

    2) FUN: Guess which car is more fun to drive, hands down? Right, the Exige. There is no contest at all.

Here endeth the lesson. Go in peace.

  • and the fact that the lotus costs about $20,000 more then the roush... hmmm once again we make a cheaper and more affordable whn they basically can somewhat keep up, f ing biased show against american cars.

  • Pushrod technology is from the dark ages, nothing to be proud of there. 7.0L and only 513bhp? That makes for 72bhp/litre...

Porsche GT3 RS has 415bhp from 3.6 litres making 115bhp/litre...given that it is a much smaller engine it'll return much better economy.

It is almost impossible for a larger engine to return better mileage, especially one as inefficient at the Z06's.

    Pushrods...lol!

  • liter???

  • Sorry for you dude, but American muscle just cant handle this little plastic EXIGE. Anyway i´m not saying that the Mustang is a bad car... It´s a serius performer! But it can´t beat the EXIGE S on this twist road...

  • what you mean " platic exige"? :S

  • just kidding... Take care!

  • ok ok =D take care too :D

  • American cars make me laugh. Stupid. American cars = v8 8000cc 200hp 40L/100 km .European cars have the best weight/power relation .That is the requirement for the best racing cars.

  • man that roush is slow TO BAD ITS A GT NOT A ROUSH.

  • i like how all the mustang fenatics always defend the stang by saying that its not fair cuz jap/euro cars are lighter thats why the stang usually gets beat out. weight doesnt make for a very good sports car. i guess a stangs not a very good sports car

  • yeah but the stang has style looks awesome and is faster then the lotus, has a live rear axle which is fun to drive less expensive then an irs setup, remember we build cars that are affordable and fun to drive, u euro clowns build expensive cars that are fun to drive...

  • whatever... the toyota motor was modificated, the mustang cobra is a lovely car but i prefer the european cars, in this case the lotus XD

  • modificated???

  • what?? :S

  • jajajajja... the american eagle vs the british mosquito!!!! XD

  • Hang on a mo! The Roush is a 4.6 supercharged stage 3 mother clucking 415 BHP monster!!! And it still lost to a 218bhp 1.8 Exige S. Please give Lotus some credit for f*cks sake! If you want to see an Exige that is the full fat, with all the bells and whistles for road use, put Exige GT3 in the search box. THAT is a trick Exige!

  • right....... I wouldn't say the mustang got owned, just beat. IT would have had to have been a pretty far off race to justify ownage. The lotus has countless upgrades from a base model elise and weighs close to nothing. The roush, which is basically the base model has nothing much except for a few more horses and a body kit. Id say it was a damn good race considering each cars performance

  • they took that form of the roush as it was most similar in price to the exige. Clarkson also actually likes the roush mustang he hates the gt500 though. AS everyone can see though the lotus fucking owned the roush. England 1 America 0

  • americans can make a car powerful but cant make them handle well. 1-0 to the brits

  • Good fun this

  • crappy yank tank

  • sorry correction, still a racing driver who knows the cirquit well is better fitted than another

  • Yeah clarkson versus the stig... i think the stig is a much better driver than clarkson and still looses to him so really if the stig had the exige he would totally anhiliate the mustang

  • Lotus Exige = 450hp/ton

    Roush Mustang (Stage 1)= 383hp/ton

    Enough said.

  • I think the ending shud be,uk 1 usa 0 not europe, obviously not a brit who put this up, yes the mustang is probably faster on the straight but who cares cos richard hammond has gone faster than that in a rocket car, nd for pure beauty the exige wins hands down!

  • that is just one race, it also depends on each drivers skills. it can go both ways. but eitheir way it was a good race.

  • you can own a Roush mustang and still have it stock because its there verison of the mustang.. so therfore its A stock Roush. until you upgrade to there other stages.

so yeah I did prove my point you moron. and were not talking about a fucking mustang gt wich is there base model this is a roush.

  • Is that all you do, call people names. thats exactly what i fucking said, its a stock roush, but in relation to a regular mustang it still has been upgraded. to dumb it down for you, put a roush and a gt next to each other, one has been upgraded and the other is what it started out as. i don't see how you don't get this

  • A roush is just a modified gt

  • No really? I love Lotus' gorgeous cars.

  • Yah it really does. Honestly there both great cars it just depends what you like. I can tell you this though. Roush makes some very good high end Mustangs. Which would be able to compete with the quicker Lotus. In the end you can almost make any car better or faster just depends how much you're willing to spend.

I did not list the other models just cause youtube would not let me post over 500 characters lol.

  • ROUSH currently offers several versions of the Mustang, including:

ROUSH Mustang Sport - A Mustang that's unmistakably ROUSH, the Mustang Sport includes a core selection of ROUSH upgrades, with additional options available.

Stage 1 ROUSH Mustang - Including ROUSH's cutting-edge styling, wheel, and tire package.

Stage 2 ROUSH Mustang - Including the exclusive styling of the ROUSH Stage 1 package, plus ROUSH's new advanced suspension and handling package.

  • thank you, lol. it depends which one of those was in the video though?

  • LOTUS EXIGE S ROX!!! I am gonna get that car, alreay own a subaru wrx sti new one. then i got my friend to get me a 10000 rpm racing engine and gonna put it in the exige s. GOnna be wicked!!

  • If both cars had equal suspensions mods the Exige would win no doubt. If you ever had a ride in either the elise let alone the Exige S on a track you will realize there is little that can take it money wise. Ford has never had any luck with the mustang and handling in my opinion. They can be built to hual ass in a straight line but after that they suck in the corners. I love seeing them at AutoX events when i show up and seeing them get spanked. Drag strip is a different story

  • well first of they were both looking stock. if you were to hook up the suspension on both vehicles. then make another race out of those two cars and see what happens. not saying my american car would win but it would put up a better fight.

  • not to make you look stupid but the mustang is a roush mustang so it does have upgraded suspension and more power. the lotus however is super light and has one of the best turning circles so handling wise its got the mustang beat. I do like the mustang way better anyway. (lotus is owned by toyata....eeeew )

  • turning circle has nothing to do with its stellar track performance. it can pull 1 g in a turn, it comes stock with r-compound tires. it's light... yes, that means it can change direction quickly plus the mid-engine helps there too. Lotus is owned by a Malaysian company called "Proton", not by Toyota. There is no way a heavy Mustang is going to outrun an Exige S, especially on a tight track. Throw in some long straightaways and the 'Stang would have a chance of running a faster laptime.

  • ummm sorry to break it to you but a car with a shitty turning circle will have shitty handling and track capability and vice versa. im not basing my whole opinion off of the turning circle, don't get me wrong, but it does help. lotus has something to do with toyota though, maybe the engine, i forget. and the driver was facing the stig, come on, who's gunna beat the stig, lol.

  • The engine and tranny in the Lotus are made by Toyota.

Why are you 'Stang boys fighting with each other? :-O

The weight of the Roush is a huge disadvantage against it, regardless of suspension, on this tight track.

Have you guys ever run a road course?

  • yeah its a stock roush.. now if u upgrade it to a stage 2,3 ect. yeah that lotus would'nt be shit and we all know its a roush whats ur point dumbass? and duh we know roush is a preformance builder for the mustang its just a better package u can buy STOCK** its like buying a fuckn import with a stock turbo.. anyone who comments about roush should already know what it comes with.. we know the suspension better thats why it is a roush stupid...

  • why am i a dumbass? i was just pointing that out because mustangwner said "if you were to hook up the suspension on both vehicles" when the roush already had suspension and other performance upgrades. im pretty sure it doesn't cost a shitload more to install a turbo on an import compared to a performance package on a mustang so that comment was completely irrelevant. I made no derogatory comments to anybosy, so what the fuck is your problem.

  • WHAT part of STOCK roush dont you understand... you goto a roush dealership and buy a roush ok.. well if you upgrade there suspension two stage 2. yea it would be better.. your making no sense dude.. and by the way a turbo kit for an import is just as much some times as american cars and for mustangs they normally run about 4-6grand depening on singl or twin.

  • what part of UPRGRADED don't you understand. Its not just a gt mustang, its a roush mustang. your making no sense. it wouldn't be a stock roush mustang because roush didn't make the mustang itself, it would be a stage 1 upgraded roush mustang. and im not comparing a turbo kit between a mustang and import. what you said read like you were comparing a whole performance package ( stage 1 ) to just a turbo upgrade for an import.

  • no your an idiot dude. a roush mustang is a fucking roush mustang its there version of a mustang.. it came stock if u goto there dealership to buy one. so yeah. if u upgrade a roush mustang then you can actually get a stage1,2,3,ect.

  • yes its ROUSH'S base version but in relation to a stock FORD mustang it has been upgraded. im pretty sure when you go to a ford dealership their base model gt mustang doesn't have what the roush has on and in it. I don't see what there is to argue about here. you proved your point, i proved mine, so lets both stfu

  • Cause I own a Roush and the suspension is not really "hooked up". After I got ahold of Maximum Motorsports I now hang with 911's

  • lotus isnt owned by toyota they just have toyota engines, it is in fact owned (80%) by proton.
