I have a papillon and when she was 3 mos old she only weighed 1.5 lbs. now at 4 years she's at 7 lbs. now if that pup was full grown then I could see the smallest dog thng... but its a pup!! Sure is adorable though.

I have 2 poms, so this vid isn't that shocking really. Small breed dogs will have even smaller puppies. Both my dogs are full grown and are MAYBE 5lbs.

I don't want to sound rude here, but lots of family friends also have "poms" that are anywhere from 10-15lbs and honestly it's just poor breeding. Poms shouldn't exceed 7lbs. Anywhere from 3-7lbs is breed standard, if your showing dogs 4-5lbs is ideal. I'm surprised that so many people are shocked by my dogs' sizes, because I'm always shocked to see these giant poms everywhere. Probs why people think there are standard and toy pom sizes when there's no such thing.

@DeCreations Actually, Pomeranians used to be classified as mid-sized dogs, but due to controlled breeding moved to the toy class, so the big poms used to be the norm.

For instance, EBTs used to look like white pit bulls, and all "Bull dogs" Used to look like mastiffs. Not to mention that whole all dogs used to be wolves thing... @Tommygun264 So the fact that they USED to be larger, doesn't change the fact that today they shouldn't be, and that larger dogs are products of poor breeding. Just like an EBT with a stop is a product of poor breeding, or say a rottweilier with a blue eye, or a basset with legs that are too long. Just because a dog used to look a certain way, doesn't mean it's breed standard now, and certainly doesn't make it the "norm."

@Tommygun264 Just about every pure bred dog has changed in the last 100 years, and that's not saying anything about times before that. Your argument/point (if you could call it either) doesn't make any sense. That would be like me saying "Well, my dog is a bulldog, because it does the job of a bull dog, and that's how they classified dogs in the 1800's, as opposed to by breed" When I owned say a jack russel terrier that acted like a bulldog. Just sayin'.

it can't be a pure breed papillion, pure breeds do not have colour anywhere on their body apart from the eyes and ears. if there is coloured fur on the rest of the body it's not a pure breed.
