its an interesting version, but nope: bards were musians, and had more important roles in their society. bards usually had a lyra, or a string instrument. they were also storytellers. Bards were almost anything but lame. Theres nothing more lame than two (or more) "bards" singing a capella (also, i cant imagine a big group of bards travelling together. maybe in a monty python sketch, but not in real life, even in medieval times).
