My father bought the Master System III just because it had Sonic The Hedgehog included in the console memory. We then traded this stupid cartridge for Sonic The Hedegehog 2 almost on the same day he bought the system.

And Tectoy continued to release things from SEGA. It branded the Mega Drive many times, releasing a Mega Drive 4 recently, with a 100 cellphone games in it. It actually made it's own console, the Zeebo, if you get it someday, make a review, I'd like to see your comments about it.

Yeah, Tec Toy, besides being the official reseller of Sega products in Brazil, they keep revamping old Sega Hardware and are one of the responsible for the Zeebo, a terrible gaming console that had the same price of a Playstation 2 in Brazil.

TecToy is still around. They still make Master Systems and Mega Drives, although no longer cartridges so the games come built in (like 80 of them or something). They make DVD players and Blue Ray players as well.

Well at least this sort of thing lets you see how the all in one games have progressed through the years and i really like seeing this stuff. However with services like onlive offering the playpack subscription and steam offering the indie game bundles i hope the overall quality of them will improve. I know an old collection disk i had had the demo version of GTA 2 and that was not too bad. Keep up the good work LGR

I hate these games, because they tricked me TWO times to buy these consoles. They were handheld consoles, that had something like 60 or 90 games on it (that weren't good). I even played couple of them on my channel.

I still think that is a good effort from a company with little or no knowlegde in software to do this cartridge...I am sure if they had the the right staff things wold have been very different.

Also I have to say that by the time this game was made (1995) the Master System was aimed at the young children (4 - 7 years) ...the main example is the also terrible game based on the local tv show "Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum", where the target audience of the show was the sane for the console itself.

I was actually thinking the same thing. This game is probably aimed at children between the ages of 3 to 7 years of age. The games looks to help a child with cognitive and motor development.

By the way, the Master System is still in production over here, but now it's only a system-on-a-chip something, with no cartridge port.

Controls that don't really work, graphics that don't always match up with what's going on, and a complete lack of sensible progression is not the best teaching aid in my book.

In your eyes it is crap as you are an adult. If you were 3 or 4 years old, you would definitely find a level of enjoyment in a few of these games. There is a bit of a challenge that a child this age would appreciate. The small sense of accomplishment of avoiding an obstacle or catch dropping coins is perfect for a child this age. This was more than likely a budget title targeted to this demographic.

@segagenesis1989 What I'm saying is that it doesn't matter, because the controls themselves do not always work. I'm pretty sure any kid is going to get frustrated at the machine not doing anything at all. Again, just because it's made for young children doesn't give it the excuse to be poorly-coded. If anything, it should be coded better than a game for adults, kids don't need crap like that getting in the way of their learning or fun.

That's fine. But I am hedging my bets and guessing this is a budget title. In the video, you comment about the bright colors and simplistic graphics. A 3 to 5 year old would appreciate the color scheme.

There is no question that a pre-teen to an adult would definitely dislike this game. But a toddler would not as they are still formulating some of the most basic skill sets.

@phreakindee You are right, the controls are utterly bad but as I said @segagenesis1989, this is a problem of lack of staff...Tec Toy is a hardware company, not a software company, their native software suffers form this same problem, excellent ideas but lack of testing and debugging.

I'm sure you know Tec Toy is also responsible for Duke Nukem 3D on the Mega Drive. They did a lot of Sega ports for the Brazilian region only. Lots of SMS ports things like Mortal Kombat 3 and some of them aren't too bad looking for 8-bit conversions. They where basically putting out a lot of SMS games in the mid 90's after it was dead everywhere else.
