@DrakeDarkHunter Well I can see the resemblance, but Rob was vacally trained recently and his voice improved because of it. So it's the bassist, as well as Robb who are doing that. Sometimes even Phil Demmell, but no, Matt isn't in this.

I never thought Id say this, but I dont like this album. Theres no emotion in the songs anymore.. Dont get me wrong, musically its great. It just doesn't sound like the Machine head I know and love. I guess even the best have their bad albums :(

@HelixMantis I didnt like this album at first either but after tasting it a little bit it really crew in me. Its a good sign since all my favorites have sounded bad first. To me theres plenty of emotion and the overall the mood feels darker than previous MH. Just sayin.

@MrSocialdisease The emotion feels.. Worn. Not as powerful as some of their earlier works, and to me, the Blackening was a much darker album, where Rob truly came to terms with his own darkness. There are a couple of listenable songs on this album, but all in all, It feels like a very samey, mediocre even album.

Ill still see them live when I can, but I cant imagine the new material having the same impact on the crowd as say, Blood sweat, and Imperium. Call me old fashioned.

@lund3000 Haha, most of us are slightly disappointed in the the Load albums and St. Anger but i still regard Metallica as one of the greatest bands still going. When people try and excuse the snare in St. Anger pretending to be the "ultimate Metallica fan" theyre foolish, it was terrible. End of. Still my fav band :) All the best bands have done bullshit in their time...except Slayer, not a foot wrong.

Burning red was probably a close second for me, but it depends on how close to rap metal you dont mind getting. You can feel the emotion in every lyric, the strength of his convictions, just something it feels like the Locust has just lost.
