I made a 1:1 scale replica of a plasmid container out of paper, it looks kinda bad, but good enough, I think I'll post it as a response to this video

@xTheTalkingZebra sorry man i built this like 3 years ago, i haven't got the time now. its papercraft so google that for basic instructions like how to fold stuff, then just experiment. my first mask messed right up :)

ashleefodder@ You should use Card stock paper and if not glossy paper. If you want to have High Quality colour then you can just use paint and then glossy spray on it. My brother suggested to me that he and my other brother could hold plastic wrap and use a blow dryer...yeah, that sounds safe. Next thing you know you'll see in a magazine something about the worlds shiniest man!

I opened the PDF and am about to print out the pieces, do you need to glue them an existing mask or something? Because its just paper so I dont understand how it becomes wearable... :s

and the Cat and Spider seems easier, but of course the bunny is the "trademark", as well as the bird -but it's too troublesome-

yup, it was my first time

i put the two together, just 1 wasn't strong enough. even with 2, the ears sagged, so i put cardboard inside whereever it seemed weak - you can judge where its weak, it will be different for everyone

How come your mask is all shiny? I know it's the light but what else?

its the glue on it setting solid, its see through and takes on a plasticy texture and shine

What did you do to not make it flimsy. The ears on mine couldn't hold it.

i put a little bit of cardboard on the base of the ears on mine, and use ALOT of pva

there arent instructions, you just look up which way to bend tabs, they are printed in 2 different ways

Weird question, but how is yours shiny? Is it the paper you used?

its covered in ALOT of super glue, which sets see through but has a bit of a shine to it

nono, mine is made of all normal paper, i just did a few layers of glue when it was finished

I downloaded the RAR for the mask, and downloaded pepakura viewer so I could view the file; I do not understand at all how to assemble it. Do you have any advice? It would be greatly appreciated. For example, are you supposed to fold the white tabs in? To what degree?

i went wrong on my first copy too. there are 2 kinds of tabs, ones you fold up and ones you fold down.

fold all of them before you do anything else, and try and guess which peices go where, so you have a 2d map of what its like.

from there, you can see which tabs line up to which gaps by judging the lengths. its hard to give advice on this, but if you cut everything out and fold all the tabs first, it should be clear
