- satanake(a snake with legs btw) wanted to fuck them over by having them eat from the magic tree(why did he put it there? so it could be used as a leason to adam and eves inbred linage i guess) the snake tricks them and tells them god wont kill u for eating it hes just afraid(how would adam and eve even know what death is? i mean the dont have the magic knowledge fruit yet sooo..but whatever, then bc gods satan foot snake tricked em they all get punished(fair?) the end greatest story ever told
-so i guess god is just up there jerking it, also he didnt want to make eve out of dirt bc thats no fun right, so he played operation with adam took a rib and created eve from adam(dont know why he need his rib or dirt or anything i mean he came from nothing right? and created the universe out of nothing right? but i guess it does make sense that ppl are more complicated than the entire universe) and this will drag on forever so im gonna end it soon, the snake(which is satan b4 hes satan)-
-the light from the darkness i dont know what it looked like before but whatever, then hes like "ok this is boring i need some things i can talk to and then in 6000 years i will only talk to insane ppl to try and hide my exsistince bc u know i like to fuck with ppl bc im fuckin god!" so he made adam and he was like i wonder what this guy would look like with large bags under his nipples and ill take away his thingy god must have one since we are made in his image but u dont hear about gods wife-
in the beginning there was nothing (cept god of course and since hes been around forever lets say he was thinking about how to create this whole universe thing for about 100,000 trillion years, but back to the less lame part) then god made the heavens in the earth (the most important parts of the universe) then he made light and it was good(thank god right? can u imagine if he didnt like it dark ages 24/7 for ever) but he made the light before the sun and then for some reason had to seperate-
@justincgs yep we all voted for him and all other idiots, lol u say americans like every american voted for shitheads like hime, no you know who voted for them religious ppl(christians) bc they dont care if hes smart or the right man for the job they care what he does on sunday, fuck ppl fuck religion fuck the world and above all if there is any one god fuck him the most, but there isnt its obvious all religion is used to control ppl and all religious texts are lessons and guidlines not facts
It's in Matthew 19:18. I wish that somewhere you'd included a scripture reference so I wouldn't have had to find it myself :p I've read this story many times and never noticed this. Thanks, thunderf00t, for pointing out this silliness.

The summary could well be correct: originally (?) it was a fairly ordinary scam, and stuff like that was a joke amongst the shysters who went about selling the baloney to the suckers. Not the apostles, supposing they even existed, the people who wrote and customised to appeal to different demographics all the different variants of the sales pitch patter the latter books of the bible were picked out from.
You need to put the chapter and verse references in. This is from Matt22:
36“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” 37Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
@TheJeremyKentBGross With all the real fallacies to find in there, why waste time miss quoting this one? You have some really good solid material, but you are getting sloppy and wasting your legitimacy by quote mining yourself for cheap shots which will only humor your base. I liked it better when you were providing actual counter arguments.
Even I was able to name 9 out of 10. I missed the one about graven images. WHAT is a "graven image" anyway? Is that posthumously painting someone's likeness? Perhaps you're not allowed to make copies of photos of people who have died, or if you take someone's photograph and then they die before you develop the film, you aren't allowed to develop it? What about copying a jpg picture file of the deceased or just loading a website which puts such pictures in your temporary internet files directory?
@medexamtoolsdotcom Actually it refers to forming cults in which you worship random-ass objects. Has nothing to do with dead things. Kind of a silly context clue you got out of that.
@medexamtoolsdotcom Read the original text. It's not just "graven" images -- it's any image of ANY THING on earth, in heaven, or under the water. All art and photography of ANY kind violates that commandment. Only abstract art is religiously sanctioned. Trouble is, humans are very good at seeing likenesses of familiar things in abstract objects. This is why, to keep God's commandments, the moon MUST BE DESTROYED!
I find it funny that most people who support putting the ten commandments into public buildings only know don't lie, don't steal, and don't kill, whilst the atheists, the people opposing the idea of putting the ten commandments into public buildings, are the ones who may know the other seven.
Well its only logical, I mean Atheists in general just hate Christianity, they would obviously research it in order to find holes that they can in turn show their amazing intelligence. I mean the 10 commandments are truthful in terms of everyday life. We argue with our parents our neighbors, we're greedy, we obviously have pre marital sex, we steal, kill, we have sex with married women/men, we portray God or Angels how we like them to be etc..
@mackjeez Actually, most of the atheists I know learned their Bible during the time before they managed to break their Christian indoctrination. Learning the Bible thoroughly is the best way to convert a believer into an atheist, which is why the Christians were killing anybody who tried to translate the Bible into the language of commoners. I have to say, I've never coveted my neighbor's ox, and as an artist, I cannot support the injunction against creating ANY "likeness." (Exodus 20:4)
Still a Christian man and I've read the bible. "Christians were killing anybody who tried to translate the Bible" lol what are you talking about? The bible was translated in Latin, Arab, Hebrew, Cyrillic and many other languages since as early as Christianity itself, what language did these commoners speak? lol? You quoted Exodus 20:4 wrong, I guess manipulation of scripture is something Athests do in order to make themselves feel intelligent.
@mackjeez I used Young's Literal Translation, which is based from the original Hebrew, instead of the more poetic (and liberally translated) King James version (which ALSO says that no image of anything can be created). Wycliffe, who first translated the bible, so enraged the Pope, that even after he was dead, the Pope ordered his bones to be crushed and scattered in the river. John Hus, was burned at the stake (with his bibles for fuel), and possessing his English Bible was a death sentence.
@artgoat Thomas Linacre, after studying the Greek from which the Bible was derived, decried the Latin version as being so corrupted that it no longer bore any resemblance to the original, yet the Church still threatened anybody who read the Bible in any language but Latin with death. John Colet only barely avoided execution for translating the Bible because he was well-connected. William Tyndale was forced to flee England under threat of Inquisition, and his Bibles were burned (only 2 survive).
I don't read the Kind James version, I'm a Greek Orthodox Christian, we were also killed by the Pope. The Pope is not the head of the church nor is he a keeper of Christianity. Wycliffe was not hated because of the translation of the bible but because he went against the papacy that was in full power at the time. His English translation of the bible differed greatly from the 4th century Latin version, the Pope was afraid that he would lose support, all popes are evil in my book.
@mackjeez Yep! Nobody hates Christians more than other Christians. The King James version drew from the Geneva Bible and several other good translations (MUCH closer to the original than the vulgate Latin). LIke I say, that's why I will consult several translations before forming an opinion on what a passage actually meant.
Very amusing however Jesus was after all talking to Jews who were punished often for breaking the top four they had that part of it right. In heaven there was no Son but he was worshiped before the creation of man, it rejuvenated them and kept harmony in a utopian society. God's love poured into them he knew what he would need to do when the time came and rebellion began. Soon it was not good enough they insisted on seeing the Son. It's basic, simple not hard to figure out. Utopia lacks Rebels!
Wow... You are crazy lmao... Do you know what the word "parody" means? Do you understand the common roll of comedy? Lol your just a hater is all, making irrational connections to support your irrational argument hahah funny funny funny :^b
@mattalleng1990 Oh yeah, the FUNNIEST part of this video is the fact that you in fact used copyrighted footage in your video! Haha don't tell Monty Python pr Star Wars!
The Old Testament is full of violence, but the New Testament and its people are much like modern people. God or Jesus don't rape children, men do. Jesus doesn't take from those with little and give to those with much, ravenous corporations and representatives do. Man kind uses his free will to do all the evil and injustice around us. Why does God permit it? Why do you permit it? You vote people, who lie to you, into office who then they subjugate you, now that's free will, but not smart.
There are only ten man! If you can name all states, and come from a Xtian background, you should be able to at least do that, especially if that's your soapbox platform.
2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
It seems that for the Jewish God, its favourite people weren't punished enough by the egyptians, because despite God freeing them from the endless torture the salvery was for them there was no "You shall not have slaves" commandment.
@yuo252 asked "Is Stephen Colbert a Atheist or a Realy bad Catholic?"
Rational people who were raised Catholic look at the world in a sober manner informed by a contrast of absurd Catholicism--I think that's Colbert. Not anymore, but I used to ID as Catholic (sort of like Russell Glasser of Atheist Experience IDs as athiest Jew) until I finally kicked the god belief.
Maybe SC does that, but I take it he's still a believer just not full-on sucker. But I don't believe he's an atheist, no.
"Don't murder...don't lie...don't steal...." Wait, didn't agents of the same US government break each of those in very recent history? Let me get my dictionary and see if that qualifies for "irony."
the bible isnt particularily evil ..its just the writings of ancient people ...ancient people were always concerned with survival ...its when later people come along and attach the supernatural to certain books that everything gets 86'd ...the bible and the koran are just books ..by people ...and not particularily good books by modern standards ...
Stupid politicians You don''t have to have a high IQ to run for senate congress or President. You just have to say the bible is the word of god and America thinks your a genius.
ok I haven't gone to church since I was 11 and I even know all of the ten commandments....thats sad that a "practicing christian" can't even name them
I was just talking about how the divinity of Jesus is questionable. Did Jesus have a Y chromosome from god, did Jesus have two X chromosomes from Mary making him a her, or was Jesus Joseph's biological son? None of those are congruent with the Bible stories--not that the bible stories are congruent with themselves if you ignore that detail...
If you knew the context of those scriptures it would all make sense. If you would like to have a conversation about these scriptures I would be glad to have it.
God bless you! Read the Bible, if you REALLY wanna know God/Jesus. Think about it, assuming, let's just assume God does exist then, you, being a sinful (OH MY GOD, SO FULL), arrogant, proud, mere human mocking Him and calling His word BS - what He would do to you?
So, all you "atheists" please do me a favor and read the bible and at least try to understand it before you make fun of it. Just in case!
@rockeytheguru somehow i doubt God is as egotistical as people seem to think he is... and furthermore i doubt he really cares about anything but the way you treat your fellow man.
@AcidBugler 1) God is not "egotistic" bt yes, He does like to b glorified. He does not need us to be glorified. That is y we glorify Him, to please Him. What we need to understand & believe is that we, ourselves, are far from ever being able to please God, until Jesus Christ made the way for us by dying in our place.
2) It IS one of the commandments to love your fellow men. Bt that's nt what He cares abt the most. Love your lord with all your heart, soul, and strength - that's what's important.
@rockeytheguru - I would like to add that I recommend that all christians read the bible. That way we'll have more atheists. That's what you don't understand. We have read it, and anyone who does read it with a critical mind can see the obvious contradictions and mythical nature of it.
@smo1001 Well, first of all, if reading Bible doesn't help you believe, then I'm just sorry for you. Define "critical mind" to me, if you look at (or read in this case) anything with the intention of criticizing it you'll never get it, even God almighty won't help you if you're so desperate to mock his words. Jesus Himself said in Mat13:12, 25:29, Luk19:26, 8:18 "Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him".
@rockeytheguru - by "critical mind", I mean that you read it the way you would read any book, and not just accepting that it's true before you even know what's in it. Actually think about who wrote, when it was written and why. Put it in the bronze age context where it belongs.
@smo1001 And mark my words, dear friend, Jesus IS the truth, the only one. Why can't you see that He created all things, so it's only natural for Him to get around it? Walking on water, commanding the winds, raising dead - all of that and more. If you were a great programmer and were to write a virus, wouldn't you know all the ways around it and surprise people by disabling it and whatnot? To them you're a genius, but to you it's just a few clicks and typings. Anyway, read Bible more.
@rockeytheguru I am reading the bible and so far it only strengthens my atheism with passages like psalms 137:9. ps, if jesus is the only one than do we ignore his father? Did jesus create everything or did God? Which one is responsible for all the permitted rapings and child beatings and child rape and killing of the innocents? The Bible is one of the most evil pieces of literature ever written and it amazes me how many people take it seriously.
@nativenight The modern interpretation of the bible is a load of shit but theirs a lot of intellectual esoteric value you in it with enough knowledge to filter out the distortion.Remember the story of creation in the bible came from ancient Sumerian tablets.
@Ether165 wait, after all the calculations of the numbers of atheists in the US (depends on which study to go by [about 15% of total US population or 49 million atheists]) to the percentage prisoners which are atheist (0.4% of all prisoners, or 9 200 by a 2001 aris study of a total 2.3 million prisoners), the percentage is about 0.019% of all atheists have committed criminal acts. Now reverse it for the theists, pop est. 258 000 000 in the US, 80% of all prisoners affiliate with a religion....
@Ether165 (part 2 ) 80% of 2.3 million is about 1 840 000 theist prisoners in the states. Which means that the percentage of theists that commit crimes is about 0.7%, which is GREATER than 0.019% of the atheists who commit crimes am I right? The figure of 80% isn't even counting the ones who believe in a God or higher power who have still committed a crime (or two). Which brings the percentage of theist criminals to be about 37 times HIGHER than the percentage of atheist criminals, even when....
@nativenight I'm not a fundie, but...people in prison aren't the only ones that commit crimes, they are the only ones that have been CAUGHT committing crimes! Perhaps Atheists commit crimes in the same % as Xians, but they just don't get caught as often, cause they're much smarter than the typical fundie moron???
@xcellken1 yea that could be true, but I also left out the fact that atheists tend to commit non-violent crimes like fraud while the Xians are in there for more murder, assualt, and rape.
@nativenight Since atheism tends to correlate with a higher level of education (which in turn implies a higher level of income), I would expect atheists to be more likely to be white-collar criminals. But once again, I doubt the implication that Christians are more likely to murder, assault and rape people because they're Christians; I think it's more that violent criminals are more likely to be relatively uneducated, and therefore more likely to identify themselves as religious.
@lexo30 Nice copypaste buddy. But the author is only merely saying that as a suspicion and is not necessarily fact. This article is not really a good thing to base anything off of, better off finding stats from reliable sources.
@nativenight I don't really understand: are you saying that I copied what I said from somewhere? I didn't. I wrote it myself. You're welcome to copy and paste it yourself and Google it; you will not find it anywhere, because I wrote it. Using my brain. And fingers. It appeared here first. Written by me.
@lexo30 Oh, I remember seeing that exact line in an article somewhere. My mistake. That first line really rings bells for me, must be because I see it so much. My apologies good man.
@nativenight Just because there may be a correlation between religious belief and criminal conviction, doesn't mean that people commit crimes because they're Christians, or their Christianity causes them to commit crimes. I'm an atheist, but I also understand statistics. I would not be surprised if convicted criminals are more likely to become religious because they're in prison, where religion is a consolation for them and an opportunity to exhibit repentance (however futile).
@AndrewDangerously You all just pass it off on you can't understand your "God", even if he did exist, and I got to meet him, I would punch him in the face for being such an asshole.
@AndrewDangerously only trinitarians belive that. the one who inveted the trinity was bysantium, he allso made iligal all other types of belives about it. allso in the bible jesus clearly says more then once that he is not a god, and that he is only one with god and that anyone else can become one with yaweh like he is. so this hints that the even the virgin birth was bull. but bible is book made by people who think that earth is flat, so if you expect them to make any sence then forgeted.
@AndrewDangerously and in the end i dont care if they belive that jesus was raptor that eated little children. i have no reason to belive that he even exited, yet alone to belive that there is any kinda gods. bible is bullshit, end of story.
@nativenight The bible in my opinion is just a collection of stories that give you some kind off idea as to how to be a good person, I mean, either it's that or it's crap.
O.o hey this is youtube you cant admit the other guy is right god damit....does no one read the rules anymore? look youre supposed to call me a fag and block me
@nativenight See, when theists try to avoid their possible destination of going to hell, I try to avoid that said theists exist. Both are understandably depressing, though hell sounds really nice compaired to sharing any time with some lazy attention whore in the sky.
@nativenight That reminds me of the part in A Clockwork Orange where the sociopath Alex during his time in prison turned to the bible for two reasons, 1. A christian conversion always looks good in the eyes of society and 2. The good book itself is so full of muder torture sex and perversion that he continued to sate his urges, fancying he was the one whipping christ on the way.
@nativenight says, "Reading the bible only strengthens my atheism with passages like psalms 137:9. ps, if jesus is the one than do we ignore his father? Did jesus create everything or did God? Which one is responsible for all the permitted rapings, child beatings, child rape and killing of the innocents? The Bible is one of the most evil pieces of literature written. It amazes me how many people take it seriously.
Reply) "Who is responsible for all the permitting evil?" (Please; tell me)
Most Christians believe that God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are a Trinity - all three the same being. That is, God came to Earth to fulfill his promise in the form of Jesus. It is true that God allows evil to happen in our world, but it isn't God's fault evil happens. Bad things happen because of the existence of evil and the sinful nature of humans. If urge you to do more research and look at the historical evidence of the existence of Jesus.
@sc021284 Listen to yourself. It isn't God's fault there is evil in our world, even though this God is alleged to have created this world. How can this be explained? God is all powerful, and allows evil to exist?
@DUCKY3654 There are people who existed around that time who could have been Jesus (or later their exploits/deeds could have been attributed to Jesus), but that all of them were one person (Jesus of the Bible) has not been proven.
I also agree that the godlike powers (which seems like a necessity, if it is/was God in the flesh) attributed to the Jesus of the Bible have not been proven.
@nativenight Dude go to wikiislam and learn about Islamic literature! The evil doctrine made by the psychotic pedophile Muhammed is many times worse than the Bible!
@rockeytheguru For your information, a recent study shows that on average, non-believers know MORE about religions and their tenets than believers do. It is YOU
who is assuming that we have not read the bible, it is YOU being condescending, it is YOU being arrogant. By the way, why did you put quote marks around atheist?
@rockeytheguru I read it. I grew a brain tumor from the stupidity. Then I went to the hospital and used modern science based on reality to get it removed...
religion ucks ass and does not exist. religion is the first form of organized government. it was put in place to unite as many as possible under one pile of bullshit. Jesus christ can suuuuck myyyy diiiiiiiiiick all day long.
Great video! Anyone seriously trying to understand the commandments should read "Shattered Tablets" by David Klinghoffer. It's a study of the "matrix" encoded within the tablets. Klinghoffer references current events to show how society can benefit from adhering to the ancient wisdom. Peace...
Yeah.... careful with broadcasting your DEEP ignorance video maker (unless that was your purpose), rape and molestation of any kind are (inarguably) elements of "adultery". I actually believe you already knew that but you let your frothing anger at the concept of a sentient God get the best of you, hence the seemingly ignorant statement. You can fix it or continue being perceived as willfully foolish. you're forgiven : D
The part when Jesus kills a fig tree for not giving him fruit even though it wasn't fig season is hilarious. Whoever wrote the bible was a comedic genius.
It should be interesting to note that this is mentioned not once but 3 times, Mathew 19:16-19, Mark 10:17-19, and Luke 18:18-20. Between them all Jesus names:
Do not murder
Do not commit adultery
Do not steal
DO not lie
Do not defraud (Mark only)
Obey parents
Love your neighbor as yourself (Matthew only)
It should be noted that his description of adultery in Matthew 5:28-30 seems to cover lusting (aka coveting). Maybe he decided to combine them? I guess George Carlin ripped off God too.
I think Jesus was a genius whose goal was to kill the first testament God. Thats why he claimed to be his father and destroyed the racial basis for Gods love.
I don't believe he believed a word of it, and/or he was daring God to show himself.
actuall ythe 10 commandments that christians mention are not the 10 commandments that are spoke in the bible, they go by the second set, not the first. look up the difference.
@zainal77 Actually, no it doesn't. Exodus 20:4 YLT "Thou dost not make to thyself a graven image." NIV "You shall not make for yourself an idol." KJB "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image." WEB "You shall not make for yourselves an idol." BIBE "You are not to make an image or picture of anything."
I can't help believing that he knew more commandments, but he only mentioned those three because they are natural secular laws. He couldn't think of any more that would have any business being posted in a government building, so he just resigned, rather than be challenged on those other commandments.
I do believe rape and child molesting would be considered adultery. But there are plenty of other examples, like other forms of child abuse, battery, selling heroin, etc.
@censurabass Maybe you misunderstood my comment. I knew it was a comedy sketch, but the congressman was real. Sure, Colbert was doing an interview. And it had comic results. I'm only saying that the congressman probably knows most or all of the commandments, but after he got through the secular three, he realized he was in trouble with the rest, so he quit.
In fairness, I mentioned that Thunderf00t's reference to child molesting and rape are adultery, so they were not good examples.
actually, the ironic thing is that adultery, as it is described in the bible, is a woman having sex at all after being divorced or with another man while married, or not marrying a man you had sex with if you have not been married yet. For men, the only conditions that consider something as adultery is if they have sex with a woman that he is not married or is going to marry marry.
@dmgirl3000 you like to read what isn't written in peoples comments. Jesus clarified simple misconceptions, such as the one you're making. If you're unable to see that, then you should pray for help in your understanding.
Exactly what I am referring to. the only real contradictions in the old testament are the things that go against the clarifications jesus gave, which were transcribed into the new testament.
Therefore when examining conflicting information from the old and new testaments, one should consider the information given in the old testament to be a clarification given by jesus, and therefore the superior information.
I'm sorry if my line of logic wasn't clear enough.
@dmgirl3000 Then in that line I would go with what Jesus says over the old testament. Jesus game for Jew and Gentile alike, where as the old testament and the teachings of Moses are for the Jews alone. We have the old testament as a history lesson more or less. But do not forget that the old covenant with God is for the Jews, yet Jesus came and made a new testament. So if you are Jewish go with the original covenant, hence circumcision. But for a gentile like me, Jesus is the way to go.
@dmgirl3000 Jesus's resurrection creates anew the covenant. And that in part, is one of the fulfilled prophecies. Because of the new covenant, and the denial of the Jewish people, many today still don't believe him to be the messiah spoken of by the old testament prophets. As to the condition of the old covenant I honestly don't know. Because the old covenant was based on many things, and separate promises made to separate people, ie, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, etc.
@weazz Many people don't believe Jesus (conceding if he even existed) to be the Messiah because he failed to meet the requirements prophecized of the Messiah.
Of course his death removing "Original Sin" is itself convoluted [murderers can get into heaven for having faith but people who ONLY 'do good' burn for not being gullible] and contradictory to God's law (that the son DOES NOT pay for the father's sins).
And the "old covenant" includes the 10 Commandments and every minor commandment.
@onijester56 first off, only somebody uneducated would ever claim that Jesus didn't exist. There is a lot of external evidence (not of the bible) to prove that he did exist and that he did have a ministry. You won't see any reputable scholar or professor refute his existence because it's just asinine foolishness to do so. As for the fulfillment of prophecy, there are 2 times in which his fulfillment will happen. Those of his first coming, which he has fulfilled, and those of his second.
[There is a lot of external evidence (not of the bible) to prove that he did exist and that he did have a ministry.] Present evidence then. If you have it, present it.
[You won't see any reputable scholar or professor refute his existence because it's just asinine foolishness to do so.] That which can be stated without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.
And you failed to understand the statement. Jesus failed to meet the REQUIREMENTS that are REQUIRED TO BE THE MESSIAH.
@onijester56 Obviously his second coming has not happened and thus those are unfulfilled, which is one of the reasons for contention, and also why there is speculation of the elect (Jewish and christian) who will accept the anti-Christ because they refuse to accept Jesus as the messiah. As for the commandments, there are actually 12, though we refer to them as the 10 commandments, but when God wrote on the stone to Moses, he gave 12 laws in which Israel were to obey and adhere to.
@weazz Zechariah 9:9 is used as prophecy of Jesus in places such as Matthew 21:4-5, but that ignores the rest of the "prophecy", Zechariah 9:10-13.
Matthew 2:5-6 also fails because Micah 5:2 refers to a clan, NOT a town. As well as Micah 5:6 not being fulfilled by Jesus.
Your apologetics fail, bud.
And the "Ten Commandments" are (aside from the "first four") VERY BASIC moral laws that nearly EVERY civilization before the writing of the "Commandments" has had at least the majority of.
@onijester56 and as for the murderer and the good people? We are saved by Faith and Faith alone. The Grace of God. There will be many on that day who say LORD LORD, and he will say to them, go away I never knew you. Just because somebody professes to be a Christian or a Jew, does not mean they will be accepted into the kingdom, in fact Jesus has said that many who think they are saved will be thrown into the lake of fire. The path is narrow, and murdering is not following the narrow path.
@weazz [We are saved by Faith and Faith alone.] Lolz to acting "moral" and "good" then. As long as I pray to YOUR SPECIFIC GOD, I am saved and get into heaven (loz again, pascal's wager fail).
Meaning that the moral set of the Ten Commandments is nullified. Now off I go to kill and steal and rape and enslave others.
...Oh, wait, what? [The path is narrow, and murdering is not following the narrow path.] But that's not part of the deal AS YOU STATE. [We are saved by Faith and Faith alone.]
@onijester56 asnine and sarcasm do not suit you. But what I stated does not contradict what I said. You wish it to be so, and you act as if it did. If you follow the narrow path (follow God's laws) then you are faithful. You cannot be faithful and murder somebody. A faithless person does not live by the laws of God. But I doubt you would ever understand, nor care to understand with your poor attitude towards those who do have faith.
@weazz Using YOUR OWN WORDS, I showed that you contradicted yourself. First you state "Faith and Faith alone" AND THEN you state "murdering is not following the narrow path." As faith is BELIEF without evidence and DOES NOT command ANY outside aspects such as actions, it IS a contradiction to posit "Faith alone" alongside "narrow path".
It is also then non-sequitur to state "You cannot be faithful and murder somebody" because faith has NOTHING to do with actions, nor actions with faith.
@onijester56 What you're trying to do is partition off what I'm saying into two separate phrases which isn't the case. If you have faith in God, you will follow God's laws. So faith in God, and that faith alone does not mean anything other than the narrow path. The narrow path is living God's law. So having Faith in God is what drives me to walk the narrow path. There is no separation as you wish to conclude or try to point out. What you are doing is falsely partitioning what I am saying.
@weazz Faith, by DEFINITION, ETYMOLOGY, USAGE, PURPOSE, and even CONNOTATION, has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with ACTIONS or FOLLOWING LAWS. To claim otherwise is not only ignorant but blatantly false.
Likewise you don't need faith in some god to not murder, steal or covet....which God actually allows and rewards depending on the situation.
Sadly, you make a connection that at its best is flimsy and then whine when SHOWN how flimsy it actually is. Not even getting to your moral stability.
@onijester56 Who does Jesus condone murdering? How have you shown my arguments to be flimsy? You have done no such thing, Again you jump to other explanations and then try to shoot holes into my arguments. You have failed to understand, as I said you would. You continue to fail to understand because you choose not to, instead you scoff and disbelieve, which is your right with your free will. But you choose to attack my faith which serves no purpose except to be asinine about it.
A good question. The first five commandments are pretty much bust; why bother keeping the rest?

JC doesn't list, or miss any 10 commandments.
TheJeremyKentBGross 6 months ago
@TheJeremyKentBGross With all the real fallacies to find in there, why waste time miss quoting this one? You have some really good solid material, but you are getting sloppy and wasting your legitimacy by quote mining yourself for cheap shots which will only humor your base. I liked it better when you were providing actual counter arguments.
TheJeremyKentBGross 6 months ago
Even I was able to name 9 out of 10. I missed the one about graven images. WHAT is a "graven image" anyway? Is that posthumously painting someone's likeness? Perhaps you're not allowed to make copies of photos of people who have died, or if you take someone's photograph and then they die before you develop the film, you aren't allowed to develop it? What about copying a jpg picture file of the deceased or just loading a website which puts such pictures in your temporary internet files directory?
medexamtoolsdotcom 6 months ago
@medexamtoolsdotcom Actually it refers to forming cults in which you worship random-ass objects. Has nothing to do with dead things. Kind of a silly context clue you got out of that.
Cainus44 6 months ago

Heyprinny 7 months ago
@Heyprinny
Well its only logical, I mean Atheists in general just hate Christianity, they would obviously research it in order to find holes that they can in turn show their amazing intelligence. I mean the 10 commandments are truthful in terms of everyday life. We argue with our parents our neighbors, we're greedy, we obviously have pre marital sex, we steal, kill, we have sex with married women/men, we portray God or Angels how we like them to be etc..
mackjeez 6 months ago
@mackjeez Actually, most of the atheists I know learned their Bible during the time before they managed to break their Christian indoctrination. Learning the Bible thoroughly is the best way to convert a believer into an atheist, which is why the Christians were killing anybody who tried to translate the Bible into the language of commoners. I have to say, I've never coveted my neighbor's ox, and as an artist, I cannot support the injunction against creating ANY "likeness." (Exodus 20:4)
artgoat 6 months ago
@artgoat
Still a Christian man and I've read the bible. "Christians were killing anybody who tried to translate the Bible" lol what are you talking about? The bible was translated in Latin, Arab, Hebrew, Cyrillic and many other languages since as early as Christianity itself, what language did these commoners speak? lol? You quoted Exodus 20:4 wrong, I guess manipulation of scripture is something Athests do in order to make themselves feel intelligent.
mackjeez 6 months ago
@mackjeez I used Young's Literal Translation, which is based from the original Hebrew, instead of the more poetic (and liberally translated) King James version (which ALSO says that no image of anything can be created). Wycliffe, who first translated the bible, so enraged the Pope, that even after he was dead, the Pope ordered his bones to be crushed and scattered in the river. John Hus, was burned at the stake (with his bibles for fuel), and possessing his English Bible was a death sentence.
artgoat 6 months ago
@artgoat Thomas Linacre, after studying the Greek from which the Bible was derived, decried the Latin version as being so corrupted that it no longer bore any resemblance to the original, yet the Church still threatened anybody who read the Bible in any language but Latin with death. John Colet only barely avoided execution for translating the Bible because he was well-connected. William Tyndale was forced to flee England under threat of Inquisition, and his Bibles were burned (only 2 survive).
artgoat 6 months ago
@artgoat
His English translation of the bible differed greatly from the 4th century Latin version, the Pope was afraid that he would lose support, all popes are evil in my book.
mackjeez 6 months ago

@rockeytheguru somehow i doubt God is as egotistical as people seem to think he is... and furthermore i doubt he really cares about anything but the way you treat your fellow man.
AcidBugler 1 year ago

We have read it, and anyone who does read it with a critical mind can see the obvious contradictions and mythical nature of it.
smo1001 1 year ago
@smo1001 Well, first of all, if reading Bible doesn't help you believe, then I'm just sorry for you. Define "critical mind" to me, if you look at (or read in this case) anything with the intention of criticizing it you'll never get it, even God almighty won't help you if you're so desperate to mock his words. Jesus Himself said in Mat13:12, 25:29, Luk19:26, 8:18 "Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him".
rockeytheguru 1 year ago
@rockeytheguru - by "critical mind", I mean that you read it the way you would read any book, and not just accepting that it's true before you even know what's in it. Actually think about who wrote, when it was written and why. Put it in the bronze age context where it belongs.
smo1001 1 year ago
@smo1001 And mark my words, dear friend, Jesus IS the truth, the only one. Why can't you see that He created all things, so it's only natural for Him to get around it? Walking on water, commanding the winds, raising dead - all of that and more. If you were a great programmer and were to write a virus, wouldn't you know all the ways around it and surprise people by disabling it and whatnot? To them you're a genius, but to you it's just a few clicks and typings. Anyway, read Bible more.

Ether165 1 year ago
@Ether165 is that why almost everyone in prison is religious?
nativenight 1 year ago
@nativenight percentage wise, otherwise my sociology book is wrong
Ether165 1 year ago
@Ether165 wait, after all the calculations of the numbers of atheists in the US (depends on which study to go by [about 15% of total US population or 49 million atheists]) to the percentage prisoners which are atheist (0.4% of all prisoners, or 9 200 by a 2001 aris study of a total 2.3 million prisoners), the percentage is about 0.019% of all atheists have committed criminal acts. Now reverse it for the theists, pop est. 258 000 000 in the US, 80% of all prisoners affiliate with a religion....
nativenight 1 year ago
@Ether165 (part 2 ) 80% of 2.3 million is about 1 840 000 theist prisoners in the states. Which means that the percentage of theists that commit crimes is about 0.7%, which is GREATER than 0.019% of the atheists who commit crimes am I right? The figure of 80% isn't even counting the ones who believe in a God or higher power who have still committed a crime (or two). Which brings the percentage of theist criminals to be about 37 times HIGHER than the percentage of atheist criminals, even when....
nativenight 1 year ago
@Ether165 even when the ones who do believe in a higher power but do not affiliate with a specific religion are EXCLUDED!
nativenight 1 year ago
@nativenight I'm not a fundie, but...people in prison aren't the only ones that commit crimes, they are the only ones that have been CAUGHT committing crimes! Perhaps Atheists commit crimes in the same % as Xians, but they just don't get caught as often, cause they're much smarter than the typical fundie moron???
xcellken1 1 year ago
@xcellken1 yea that could be true, but I also left out the fact that atheists tend to commit non-violent crimes like fraud while the Xians are in there for more murder, assualt, and rape.
nativenight 1 year ago
@nativenight Since atheism tends to correlate with a higher level of education (which in turn implies a higher level of income), I would expect atheists to be more likely to be white-collar criminals. But once again, I doubt the implication that Christians are more likely to murder, assault and rape people because they're Christians; I think it's more that violent criminals are more likely to be relatively uneducated, and therefore more likely to identify themselves as religious.
lexo30 1 year ago
@lexo30 Nice copypaste buddy. But the author is only merely saying that as a suspicion and is not necessarily fact. This article is not really a good thing to base anything off of, better off finding stats from reliable sources.

@nativenight I don't really understand: are you saying that I copied what I said from somewhere? I didn't. I wrote it myself. You're welcome to copy and paste it yourself and Google it; you will not find it anywhere, because I wrote it. Using my brain. And fingers. It appeared here first. Written by me.
lexo30 1 year ago
@lexo30 Oh, I remember seeing that exact line in an article somewhere. My mistake. That first line really rings bells for me, must be because I see it so much. My apologies good man.
nativenight 1 year ago
@nativenight Just because there may be a correlation between religious belief and criminal conviction, doesn't mean that people commit crimes because they're Christians, or their Christianity causes them to commit crimes. I'm an atheist, but I also understand statistics. I would not be surprised if convicted criminals are more likely to become religious because they're in prison, where religion is a consolation for them and an opportunity to exhibit repentance (however futile).
lexo30 1 year ago
@nativenight Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are different forms of the same deity. Like how water can be a solid liquid or gas.
Bad things happen to good people, you can't understand God's whims, it is like explaining to an ant how a motorcycle works.

Which one is responsible for all the permitted rapings, child beatings, child rape and killing of the innocents? The Bible is one of the most evil pieces of literature written. It amazes me how many people take it seriously.

There is no solid evidence of Jesus existing.
57worldwide 6 months ago
@57worldwide actually jesus has been proven to exist, just not with the godlike powers the bible claims.
DUCKY3654 4 months ago

Great video! Anyone seriously trying to understand the commandments should read "Shattered Tablets" by David Klinghoffer. It's a study of the "matrix" encoded within the tablets. Klinghoffer references current events to show how society can benefit from adhering to the ancient wisdom. Peace...

isnt this the reason why religion is just bullcrap that we are in all of this shithole in the first place?

Yeah.... careful with broadcasting your DEEP ignorance video maker (unless that was your purpose), rape and molestation of any kind are (inarguably) elements of "adultery".

I guess George Carlin ripped off God too.
falsehero2001 1 year ago
I think Jesus was a genius whose goal was to kill the first testament God. Thats why he claimed to be his father and destroyed the racial basis for Gods love.
I don't believe he believed a word of it, and/or he was daring God to show himself.

actuall ythe 10 commandments that christians mention are not the 10 commandments that are spoke in the bible, they go by the second set, not the first. look up the difference.

Astrobrant2 1 year ago
@Astrobrant2 You do realise that is was a comedy sketch right? As in Stephen Colbert was acting in that particular sketch. He is not a congressman.
censurabass 1 year ago
@censurabass Maybe you misunderstood my comment. I knew it was a comedy sketch, but the congressman was real. Sure, Colbert was doing an interview. And it had comic results. I'm only saying that the congressman probably knows most or all of the commandments, but after he got through the secular three, he realized he was in trouble with the rest, so he quit.
In fairness, I mentioned that Thunderf00t's reference to child molesting and rape are adultery, so they were not good examples.
Astrobrant2 1 year ago
@Astrobrant2 Ah, my mistake. I apologise.
censurabass 1 year ago
@Astrobrant2
actually, the ironic thing is that adultery, as it is described in the bible, is a woman having sex at all after being divorced or with another man while married, or not marrying a man you had sex with if you have not been married yet. For men, the only conditions that consider something as adultery is if they have sex with a woman that he is not married or is going to marry marry.
It deals nothing with consent.
dmgirl3000 1 year ago
@dmgirl3000 you have totally disregarded what Jesus said about adultery.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz
then it is a contradiction against the old testament.
dmgirl3000 1 year ago
@dmgirl3000 it's not a contradiction, but a clarification.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz
so anything that is in the new testament is taken to be superior piece of information over a contradictory statement from the old testament, right?
dmgirl3000 1 year ago
@dmgirl3000 you like to read what isn't written in peoples comments. Jesus clarified simple misconceptions, such as the one you're making. If you're unable to see that, then you should pray for help in your understanding.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz
I'm sorry if my line of logic wasn't clear enough.
dmgirl3000 1 year ago
@dmgirl3000 Then in that line I would go with what Jesus says over the old testament. Jesus game for Jew and Gentile alike, where as the old testament and the teachings of Moses are for the Jews alone. We have the old testament as a history lesson more or less. But do not forget that the old covenant with God is for the Jews, yet Jesus came and made a new testament. So if you are Jewish go with the original covenant, hence circumcision. But for a gentile like me, Jesus is the way to go.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz
Now the question is "does Jesus' resurrection annul the original covenant?"
dmgirl3000 1 year ago
@dmgirl3000 Jesus's resurrection creates anew the covenant. And that in part, is one of the fulfilled prophecies. Because of the new covenant, and the denial of the Jewish people, many today still don't believe him to be the messiah spoken of by the old testament prophets. As to the condition of the old covenant I honestly don't know. Because the old covenant was based on many things, and separate promises made to separate people, ie, Abraham, Isaac, Moses, etc.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz Many people don't believe Jesus (conceding if he even existed) to be the Messiah because he failed to meet the requirements prophecized of the Messiah.
Of course his death removing "Original Sin" is itself convoluted [murderers can get into heaven for having faith but people who ONLY 'do good' burn for not being gullible] and contradictory to God's law (that the son DOES NOT pay for the father's sins).
And the "old covenant" includes the 10 Commandments and every minor commandment.
onijester56 1 year ago
@onijester56 first off, only somebody uneducated would ever claim that Jesus didn't exist. There is a lot of external evidence (not of the bible) to prove that he did exist and that he did have a ministry. You won't see any reputable scholar or professor refute his existence because it's just asinine foolishness to do so. As for the fulfillment of prophecy, there are 2 times in which his fulfillment will happen. Those of his first coming, which he has fulfilled, and those of his second.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz
Jesus failed to meet the REQUIREMENTS that are REQUIRED TO BE THE MESSIAH.
onijester56 1 year ago
@onijester56 Obviously his second coming has not happened and thus those are unfulfilled, which is one of the reasons for contention, and also why there is speculation of the elect (Jewish and christian) who will accept the anti-Christ because they refuse to accept Jesus as the messiah. As for the commandments, there are actually 12, though we refer to them as the 10 commandments, but when God wrote on the stone to Moses, he gave 12 laws in which Israel were to obey and adhere to.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz Zechariah 9:9 is used as prophecy of Jesus in places such as Matthew 21:4-5, but that ignores the rest of the "prophecy", Zechariah 9:10-13.
Matthew 2:5-6 also fails because Micah 5:2 refers to a clan, NOT a town. As well as Micah 5:6 not being fulfilled by Jesus.
Your apologetics fail, bud.
And the "Ten Commandments" are (aside from the "first four") VERY BASIC moral laws that nearly EVERY civilization before the writing of the "Commandments" has had at least the majority of.
onijester56 1 year ago
@onijester56 and as for the murderer and the good people? We are saved by Faith and Faith alone. The Grace of God. There will be many on that day who say LORD LORD, and he will say to them, go away I never knew you. Just because somebody professes to be a Christian or a Jew, does not mean they will be accepted into the kingdom, in fact Jesus has said that many who think they are saved will be thrown into the lake of fire. The path is narrow, and murdering is not following the narrow path.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz [We are saved by Faith and Faith alone.] Lolz to acting "moral" and "good" then. As long as I pray to YOUR SPECIFIC GOD, I am saved and get into heaven (loz again, pascal's wager fail).
Meaning that the moral set of the Ten Commandments is nullified. Now off I go to kill and steal and rape and enslave others.
...Oh, wait, what? [The path is narrow, and murdering is not following the narrow path.] But that's not part of the deal AS YOU STATE. [We are saved by Faith and Faith alone.]
onijester56 1 year ago
@onijester56 asnine and sarcasm do not suit you. But what I stated does not contradict what I said. You wish it to be so, and you act as if it did. If you follow the narrow path (follow God's laws) then you are faithful. You cannot be faithful and murder somebody. A faithless person does not live by the laws of God. But I doubt you would ever understand, nor care to understand with your poor attitude towards those who do have faith.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz Using YOUR OWN WORDS, I showed that you contradicted yourself. First you state "Faith and Faith alone" AND THEN you state "murdering is not following the narrow path." As faith is BELIEF without evidence and DOES NOT command ANY outside aspects such as actions, it IS a contradiction to posit "Faith alone" alongside "narrow path".
It is also then non-sequitur to state "You cannot be faithful and murder somebody" because faith has NOTHING to do with actions, nor actions with faith.
onijester56 1 year ago
@onijester56 What you're trying to do is partition off what I'm saying into two separate phrases which isn't the case. If you have faith in God, you will follow God's laws. So faith in God, and that faith alone does not mean anything other than the narrow path. The narrow path is living God's law. So having Faith in God is what drives me to walk the narrow path. There is no separation as you wish to conclude or try to point out. What you are doing is falsely partitioning what I am saying.
weazz 1 year ago
@weazz Faith, by DEFINITION, ETYMOLOGY, USAGE, PURPOSE, and even CONNOTATION, has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with ACTIONS or FOLLOWING LAWS. To claim otherwise is not only ignorant but blatantly false.
Likewise you don't need faith in some god to not murder, steal or covet....which God actually allows and rewards depending on the situation.
Sadly, you make a connection that at its best is flimsy and then whine when SHOWN how flimsy it actually is. Not even getting to your moral stability.
onijester56 1 year ago
@onijester56 Who does Jesus condone murdering? How have you shown my arguments to be flimsy? You have done no such thing, Again you jump to other explanations and then try to shoot holes into my arguments. You have failed to understand, as I said you would. You continue to fail to understand because you choose not to, instead you scoff and disbelieve, which is your right with your free will. But you choose to attack my faith which serves no purpose except to be asinine about it.
