@xxxwoody33 It's best to change the water with most all systems like this, once every week to three weeks for best results. From the sounds of it, he left his in mucky water for a few extra days. And it looks like some bugs got into your poly tube when you had it opened, those look like chew marks not chem burns. but what do I know.
fucking sick bro!!! your back yard has it going on dude. It would be funny to see the feds raid your house thinking you are growing drugs and instead they find pumpkins and tomatoes
If I have to go to your site to watch the video, I'd rather not watch it. You just lost a viewer because you what me to subscribe. I guess everyone is for sale. I call people like you Internet hookers.
Looks like nute burn, but it could be bad ph causing deficiency in certian elements.
pH is crucial. At pH 5-6 most of the elements in the liquid nutrient are water soluble and able to be used by the plant. As the ph gets higher, the nutrients get less water soluble as they turn to bases - and when the pH is too low, the solution becomes too acidic and harsh for the plants.
pH must be checked (and corrected if necessary) every single day if possible, never more than 2 days apart.
I am constantly amazed at how someone like yourself with what appears to be very limited space can really make the most out of that space. If your enthusiastic and interested in gardening you can make alot out of a little. I like the way everything looks. It does look like nutrient burn. Everything ooks great and well thought out though. AWSOME!
nice set up but remember some plants like ph lower then others and some plants like ppm higher then other google the plants you wone grow on it and find the ones that like ph and ppm close numbers. (tomatoes like ph5.5-6.5 ppm 1400-3500) (lettuce ph6.0-6.5 ppm 560-840 ) (beans ph6.0-6.5 ppm 1400-2800) (strawberries ph5.5-6.5 ppm 1260-1540)

@TheBossgood them solar panels very in price depending on where n how u get them but they sell them at auto part stores here in new england for like 30 dollars. they dont give off much power though. i dont see how he could run a timer and pump off them. except for when it is a bright sunny day. at night does he switch to home power?
You guys need to stop watching youtube videos while you're high or drunk, cause I thought it was fine. That's how most youtube vids are shot, cam, pointing at stuff while talking... You guys best never EVER watch any gonzo porn.
U have root burn b.c u used clear tubing instead of black which caused backteria which is bad for your plants. so go to the pet shop and get black tubing
depending on the type of system. I know what your thinking. Being submerged in water will cause rootrot. WATER does not cause root rot. Its the soil in a potted plant which houses molds and bacteria. When using a hydro system u eliminate the soil. Therefore, no root rot. So yes having them submerged in water is acceptable. One system is called Deep Water Culture and that requires ur roots to be submerged 24/7
I was just reading about the PVC, and I found out that polyvinyl chloride is rather dangerous as it leeches into water (and soil). It's not good to use around food sources. I may have to find something else to use instead of PVC.
@pleiades121 I have a question for the video maker, What are you using the portable solar charger for?? I have one that plugs into cig lighter in car and keeps the battery from discharging. Are you using a battery for anything here? Thanks, Hope to hear from you.
@giantart From the wavelength charts I have seen, with LED lighting you get a very narrow wavelength, but those wavelengths are tuned better to be exactly what the plant needs. beyond that, I have seen lettuce and tomatos grown under them with good success. Look at HPS for instance. It has a ton of light that the plant could care less about, but you are paying for that light with a lot of electricity. The biggest drawback to LEDs that I can see is cost, but they are effective, still
@giantart Its bullcrap that the monochrome light that LEDs produce is not good for plants. If you study the wavelength to growth rate graphic you see there are wavelengths that give maximum growth and wavelengths that are essential so as long as you give light of those wavelengths doesnt matter if it consists out of 5 different wavelengths or a whole spectrum containing these wavelengths all goes well.
I guess I'm a little late, but it didn't look like low oxygen or too hot rez water, or any nasty microbes, because your roots would be nasty. They looked great, so I would guess it was nutrient or greenhouse temp burn. I've burn up leaves like that with a mini greenhouse
@tubestick00 in your country...I grow my own, and there's plenty of green here. but you're right not all the greens you buy is fresh from the soil...I hope that some day it will return to the old days....
Hey man, it could be a lot of things. Since its outside your res tank could be getting to hot, and causing a lot of nasty shit to grow in the water. That and the water could be to warm when its being pumped in. I ahd that prob when i started my hydro on my porch. now im all inside with LED lighting. Working out great!
I never really monitored the water temperature so its an idea for sure. I have made some changes since the video but still no positive results. End of the grow season now so im just experimenting with how much chemicals the plants can take. Where did you get your LED grow lights? I was thinking of making my own because they just seem too expensive.
@happygameshow You might not like this mate but if you wantr to learn about LED grow lights, no ne in the industry is learning more (yes we as growers are still learning on how to use them as information is still scarce) than Marijuana forums and growers, they are some of the best gardners around and DO NOT use stuff that dosn't work. Check out some forums, wealth of info. I can give you more info via PM if your interested as I also know what works and what dosn't. Your DIY likely wont. Cheers.
@Pankake232 Yes I agree with this, your water soloution MUST be at a good tempurature, too hot and you lock out nuts and can increase the uptake of others, same as going to cold. Also Consider since many of those plants your starting out in the hydroponics system are litle guys, you should be mixing your nuts at half strength for the first 2 or 3 weeks or you will burn them. If the roots are getting light they will lock out and also cause what looks to be burn. SO many things, test test test.
