How would reading the bible make it true? Do you mean like how the bible says the universe was created in 6 days and that the earth is flat, has 4 corners, and is the center of the universe? The bible has thousands of mistranslations. The story of the flood and baby Moses being found in river are taken from the Epic of Gilgamesh. Egyptian mythology is the biggest religion that the bible has plagiarized. Most characters and stories in the bible are completely astrological, based on the sun.
To properly understand the Bible you have to take into account that a lot of it is interpreted from old languages. And it is highly metaphorical. That doesn't take anything (in my mind) away from the power of the book. You shouldn't think that the world was made in 6 DAYS just because it says "On the first DAY..." etc. In a song or a movie a "day" is a metaphor for a larger amount of time. The Bible should not be used as a substitute for scientific knowledge later aquired. they both can fit
I know very well that there are different translations, as that is how they got mistranslations, and adding words such as "lucifer", which is a latin term not found in the Greek or Hebrew text. The bible may be full of metaphors to many people today, but do not be mistaken that most, if not all, people back then, as well as many people today take every part of the bible literally, including the 6 day creation, Noah's Ark, and Garden of Eden story.

Some inconsistency with the order in which the bible characters follow. Back in the days of ancient Egypt, only the ruling class were literate, and thus they were the ones writing down events of their history. This could be why all these characters such as Moses, Abraham and others were not accounted for. The Pharaohs didn't care if they existed, especially if they as Bible said, were poor.

I think both are altered. There are many evidences that show that the biblical stories are based upon older stories (which can be found in ancient Babylon and Sumer, ancient Egypt, in the Tora and Quran, etc.) and were altered later at the council of Nicea. Just like Jesus, who was made divine, but actually was a mortal, baring the conciousness of the infinate creator (real God). Now I must say that this video isnt very acurate either. They take known facts and link them with fantasy and speculation with the aim to make us enemies of our culture and the ideas and history we inherit. How would reading the bible make it true? Do you mean like how the bible says the universe was created in 6 days and that the earth is flat, has 4 corners, and is the center of the universe? The bible has thousands of mistranslations. The story of the flood and baby Moses being found in river are taken from the Epic of Gilgamesh. Egyptian mythology is the biggest religion that the bible has plagiarized. Most characters and stories in the bible are completely astrological, based on the sun.

To properly understand the Bible you have to take into account that a lot of it is interpreted from old languages. And it is highly metaphorical. That doesn't take anything (in my mind) away from the power of the book. You shouldn't think that the world was made in 6 DAYS just because it says "On the first DAY..." etc. In a song or a movie a "day" is a metaphor for a larger amount of time. The Bible should not be used as a substitute for scientific knowledge later aquired. they both can fit

I know very well that there are different translations, as that is how they got mistranslations, and adding words such as "lucifer", which is a latin term not found in the Greek or Hebrew text. The bible may be full of metaphors to many people today, but do not be mistaken that most, if not all, people back then, as well as many people today take every part of the bible literally, including the 6 day creation, Noah's Ark, and Garden of Eden story.

People that think every word is straight from God are just like people that try to discredit the entire thing. There is no room for healthy discussion because every time you deconstruct one of their misconceptions, they take a step back and put up a new wall.
