nice, sounds better than any chevy or ford i've ever heard!!!
And toyota reliability is a plus
I have a 2000 tundra with the v8 and it has 260k miles and counting with no major service done just maintenance i've kept up with
But my dad has a 96 chevy blazer that only has 126k miles and its needed over 10k in parts and he just doesn't feel like putting more money into it as it now needs a transmission (3rd time)
is this when you first put it on ? or does it get louder because some other vehicles with this exhaust are not this loud ? what is the reason , does it break in after so may kms or what , im thinkin about puttin these mufflers on my 1975 4x4 3/4 ton with a crate engine , the truck is mint so i wanna have a powerfull sound
@chrisced007 They are nice trucks, but (no offense) I find the Tundra to be superior looking, and has a WAY better interior! Not to mention at the time, the Tundra was the safest truck around!
the TRD duals as a factory option? remove the cats and disable the CEL with an ECU tune and run a single in/dual out turbo muffler attached to the stock tails
i'd think even the TRD muffler is as restrictive as any other stock muffler, turbo mufflers flow extremely well and sound great
Where did you get the 3.5 stainless steel angle cut tips from? I have a 2004 toyota tundra 4x4 4.7L V8 and I love the sound of your truck and I want mine to sound like that.
I went to get mine resonators removed on my 2000 Tundra and they told me at my local Meineke that it was a third cat and that they couldnt remove it obviously...guess there is different set ups for cats on the 4.7 that year and I just have 3 : /
sounds pretty good man, she have a nice drone? Im getting the flowmaster 40 duals for my 97 gmc sierra soon and was wondering how much to expect to pay
hey man i have a 97 chevy z71 and i got the flowmaster 40 duals for about 500 which included installation. u can check my page to listen to them, they sound very nice. i also have a k&n cold air intake, hedman headers, and a hypertech powerprogrammer, of course i have the 350 ci vortech V8 and it is probably putting out around 360 horses, which is not bad for a truck that weighs 4500 lbs hah
I did notice a little bit of Hp increase and torque. Maybe 10hp at the most. I never had the truck dynoed. Also these 4.7 l lexus engines are I believe over head cam.
I would go with the dual exhaust first. The cold air intake doesn't really do that much. I happen to come across a used K&N intake for $100. It gave me a little top end speed but I did lose some low end torque. Do not install a throttle body spacer, performance chip, and/or performance drop in filter because they do absolutely nothing for the truck and they are a total waste of money.
I noticed you said dual mufflers as well as pipes.... Do you have a Y pipe split from the converter, or is it true duals all the way back? If no Y pipe, and is is true duals, is there an X/H pipe?
Sounds like dog shit. Shoulda got Magnaflow.

There is no y pipe, x pipe, and/or h pipe. It is true dual exhuast all the way. The converters are still there also.

notice any performance gains from them?
