You need to download a program called SUPER. It is free, works excellent, and will convert the videos into any format, with any settings, at any size.

The battery life on this camera is above average. You could pull about 1.5 - 2.3 hours on a single charge at my estimate. As for sound, its poor. If the music you are recording is TOO loud, all you get is fantastic static; it peaks all over. Voices near you are OK as long as they're not yelling at the top of their lungs.
And also, what about the zoom on this thing? I checked out another video and it wasn't that far, do other models of this camcorder have better zoom? Or am I gonna be stuck with 3x?

The Aiptek would do rather well with low lighting. If you want to crank up the light even more, it has a night shot option but in place the video will be a bit more choppy. So you could say, you could have slightly darker video that is smoother or more brightly lit video which is more choppy. All in all the camera does pretty well in low light situations.

It does not have 'night vision' however it does have night shot. What night shot does is brighten up what little light there is with a small sacrifice of framrate. So it will be brighter but a little more choppy. As for pictures, my camera is being borrowed.

It does better than any camera I have ever owned. In fact most of this was shot in very dark conditions. No graininess, pixelation. It still pulls out all of the colors.
It has...average to semi low quality sound. Take for instance, if there is a lot of background noise such as people talking and other little noises, there will be a lot of glarble sound, almost like static. It really has a hard time distinguishing sounds. Also it can sound muffled when someone talks. I have fixed these problems by making a cusp on the microphone to direct sound properly.
One big difference, though is that the GO-HD has a GLASS, OPTICAL ZOOM LENS. The A HD has a plastic litle dot of a lens with no zoom but digital, which naturally detracts the image's quality.
Oh man, its WONDERFUL for that! This camera completely blew me away! and now its even cheaper. It's like $150 now. I've got more footage coming soon with this thing!

The HD mode blows my $3699.00 Panasonic AG DVX100A out the door with it's picture. Sure my 100a has a lot of pro stuff, but this A-HD reminds me of the old Super8 movie cameras that you just point and shoot. Great camera but the youtube does not show the footage in it's true sense.
I have tried many different HD cameras myself for ridiculous prices! And this one is just the best. You point it, you shoot it, you have instant HD magic; what else could you ask for in a camera?

It's pretty much exactly the same structurally except the 1080p version has even higher resolution than the 720p camcorder.

You will not be able to use windows movie maker because the files are .mov, meaning its apple quicktime.

So apple's software is not compatible with Windows Movie Maker. You may want to talk to Aiptek's helptdesk for a free solution (they should have sent you some software tat can help you edit your movies, check out your booklet please!)

Better.
Its cheaper, it doesn't have auto focus (which was bad in the go-hd) you have manual focus instead.
Its lighter.
Its got a rechargeable battery.
...AND you can record TV shows and watch them on the road by using the A/V jacks and headphones.

But the GO-HD had a few issues with its auto focus and with low light shots it would constantly shoot in and out of focus.
At least with the A-HD you have one static focus.
I suppose you win some and loose some between both of the models.
