@999LDS He meant it, but he was wrong. He was speaking out of his understanding of the gospel and scriptures (which was obviously extensive). He didn't claim that his statement was a divine revelation. The prophet and apostles are not perfect, they merely have more authority over God's kingdom on earth (and therefore they usually are more familiar with the spirit of God than you or I). Most their words at general conference are NOT divine revelation from God, but most is INSPIRED by the Spirit.
