  • I love the MB. I can see that this year will be a turnaround for me. It beats what I've had. Goals to be met. Freedom most of all. A life of no more heartaches....just bumps in the road. And I plan to take out some of them...to get back to the simple basics...no more of the broken promises and lies to deal with.

  • @Muffett53 HERE U GO AGAIN....Y DO U ALWAYS BRING UP OUR SHIT IN PUBLIC..MAYBE IT SHOULD BE END....DAMN.......

  • @rexrockandroll Why do you start out with a comment to me that has the word DAMN repeated ....and you never say anything kind about me any more? You started with this Kitty crap. Did you ever think that the name may be fake...and she played you for a fool? It's not fair what you do to yourself. You waste time on dwelling on stupid crap. All of it lost...and you could have done something positive during that time. I'm not dwelling on it...you do and you let yourself down. xoxoxo

  • Moodies are the best!

  • When the final line is over, and It's certain that the curtain's gonna fall, I can hide inside your sweet sweet love forever more.........Moody Blues, my favorite band since the eighth grade, 1972.

  • @artsyspicey

"When the final line is over... AND its certain that the curtain's gonna fall..." I wish ann6079 would just add that word to the lyrics she's so graciously given us. It always throws me off when singing along with this MB's song! LOL! Lamar

  • @emeraldfrog1 yes, the MB's sing it this way, it just flows better.

  • I think I'll sing this Karaoke tomorrow...I have to practice it

cause it's so fast. Very meaningful lyrics.

  • @OppPaul

Yow, Paul! Yes, the musical instruments rip along, but listen again to the way Justin sings past bars in the song. He never seems hurried and, to me, that seems to be one of the hallmarks of their music: Lots going on in the background, and Justin singing past surging guitars, melotone harmonies, and a strong base line. Pick your song well. I'd love to be there to hear you sing it! Lamar

  • The Moody Blues...wow what can I say. What a sound. Great song writing with spiritual and introspective themes, the harmonies, Justin Hayward's great guitar leads, Mike Pinder's mellotron, Ray Thomas' flute and awesome narrative voice, John Lodge great bass player and Graham Edge keeping it altogether. What an innovative band. The 60's and 70's was a great time for music and these guys were just the best. Never get tired of listening to their music. It is timeless.

  • The Moody Boody blues are the are the pintacle of music and the poetry that inspires to this day they have the piper whichm past my condolinces to all that loved him the music is at awesome as a great great musicin that ever lived take a listen if you dont belive . love to all , Linda Mc

  • I have this dream...to make love to every women in the world

  • love it as much today as when I was a kid doing my homework to it...........thanks for posting!

  • QUITE SIMPLY, THE BEST SONG I'VE EVER HEARD......BAR NONE!

  • @cloudjia HI, and I like your username. Saw them in the 1970's in Oakland. From the moment I bought and played my first Moody Blues record I've loved their music. The show was incredible! They can do it live like they do it in the studio. The concert was emotional for me and others around me. Their music is so beautiful, especially now when compared with all the filth passing as musican entertainment. I miss those times. Lamar

  • Somebody wrote in the comments "Powerful". Uhhh yeah, that is right on baby. These guys were talking a long time ago about the Global Elite dark force that is imposing it's will on the people of this earth. "Listen to the tide slowly turning." At that time they were thinking that " it's certain that the curtain will fall." Humanity can change things, but if we stay on this course then yeah, the final curtain could fall. Global slavery. Fight the NWO that the Moody Blues saw early on.

  • @abcbraveheart You are so on target! My god, what had they heard back then? Eye opening !

  • I love the moody b,lues

  • POWERFUL !!!!!!!!!!

  • For ever more

  • I'd love to, but at present, I'm living in a tent on a beautiful Greek Island and with "definitely" not the fund's needed to fly to see this magical concert!! But thanks! Hope you read wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com because this is for; and about EVERYONE (not just America) Enjoy that concert!!

  • u hippies r still cluelesss

  • government is evil,yes we know,where u been?

  • u know my preference

  • great with or without drugs

  • Sorry... The Moody Blues are one of all time magic bands... so brilliant live and their lyrics are so poignant even to this day this is why I posted the previous. Love to see them again someday!!

  • @einrib4truth Playing in London Ontario Canada Sept 24, catch a plane........

  • An uber fan for more than 40 yrs...saw them in CT in 2010. Will see them in NH in Sept.... Moodies are magic.....

  • I saw them live at the Old Boston Gardens; 2 nd row on the floor in the 70's. What a great show , they are as good live as on recordings. True pro's; the Hammond B3 Organ sent chills up my spine !! Great stuff............

  • I Literately Been Listening To This Band Since Birth. My Dad May Have Been The Moody Blues Biggest Fan. Thank You Dad! RIP

  • If it wasn't for my dad playing this the other night... i would of never even though of this great music!

  • We played this song in band class, it was fun.

  • A WONDERFUL SONG!!!

  • The Story In Your Eyes is definitely in my top ten favorite Moody Blues tunes. Great choice of images for your video presentation. Thanks for putting this together for us MB fans.

  • one of the best bands in our lifetime without question get some headphones and a dark corner with no distractions brilliant !!!!

  • A song for all seasons.

I have seen them many times...and this song is always performed. Mostly the 3rd song on the playlist, in earlier years.....but always present in modern times.

  • @strombeldenbar I could never see myself tiring of playing this song, if I'd composed it.

  • I had to find my own music growing up,I had deaf-mute parents and this song is still great to me.

  • I love the guitar part at 1:17.

  • My sunshine always turns to rain.

  • @5kspecialist... I am one of those children, and I know what real music is thanks to my dad who showed me!!! Thanx dad!!!

  • Timeless! Thanks for the post and images.

  • AND THE TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE

  • Ahh the good old days, when the music was real and the lyrics meant something.

  • Ann, thank you for this! Haven't heard this song in ages, and it's one of my favorites. Ever heard of The Frost (you can hear them on my page)? Another great band from that era.

  • Brilliant Song ! How the hell are they NOT in the Hall of Fame ???

  • BARB..THANX....FOR MAKING ME SEE LIFE IN A NEW WAY AND BRINGING A SMILE TO MY FACE...DAMN....U KNOW WHAT I MEAN....HOPE U ARE DOING GREAT..X0X0....

  • ....we're part of the fire that is burning....just got to love it

  • Life On Mars , episode 4

Ray : "Woman , in her twenties.."

    Chris : "Dead"

    Gene : "I didn't think she was sunbathing , DID I ??!"

This show is brilliant ! And it's also a way to make the teenagers discovering the music of the 7O's . I'm 16 and I discovered all these bands and more because shows like Ashes To Ashes and Life On Mars , I wish there was more shows like these :P

  • Brings back memories of the AM radio playing in my parents station wagon on long road trips as I played and lounged in the back of the vehicle on the opposing, sofa like seats.

  • Does it get any better than the guitar/bass on this song...

  • But I'm frightened for your children...That they'll never know what real music is.

  • @5Kspecialist some of them will. I am 16, and have liked the beatles, and alot of old music since I was like 9 or 10, and just amazing music like this. Not all kids will have their ears filled with shit.

  • @beatlessexy Way better than Justin Bieber xD

  • @Kalaro78 hell yeah. Hands down no contest. If Justin Beiber ever heard their Godliness he would most likely melt from the inside or straight-up EXPLODE!

  • @5Kspecialist im 25 and i know every word to every song. Been singing their songs since i was like 8

  • @5Kspecialist too bad this kid does =D. my parents raised me on this music ( they raised me right =D)

  • @5Kspecialist MICHAEL TSARION IS THE WORLDS PREMIER CONSPIRACY RESEARCHER/LECTURER/AUTHOR. DR. BILL DEAGLE, LEO ZAGAMI, JORDAN MAXWELL AND ALEXANDRE DUMAS PERE ARE HIGHLY INFORMATIVE AS WELL. P.S. MELTING EUPHORIA IS SIMILAR TO OZRIC TENTACLES AND GONG.

  • @5Kspecialist ......They will only know if you teach them. ; )

  • @5Kspecialist Fuck you you pretentious faggot.

  • @5Kspecialist Well at least thanks to Youtube they can hear this

  • I was lucky enough to see the Moodys twice in my life. This song live was phenomenal but watching the bass being played wore me out! He was walking the dog on those strings!

  • What an incredible song this is, even without the acid.

  • I was lucky to see the Moodies late last year in the U.K. Still one of the greatest live bands on the planet. If you live in America don't miss their forthcoming tour dates.

Thank you for keeping the faith!

  • When the kids who are five now turn 21 they will have NEVER heard melody or music. Their concept of the live, inventive, difficult-to-perform music of the '70s will be that it was nothing but noise. I feel so fortunate that during the 12 years I was in parochial schools we have music constantly. Give me Gershwin or Kern or Ella or The Moody Blues at any time. As Steve Allen once told me in an interview: "Rhapsody in Blue" is preferable to "Switchblade Baby, I'm Gonna Stab you Tonight" any time!

  • @hourlynewscaster

I agree. We sure need to educate our children into what real music is. Exposure at least might help. I feel so fortunate to have loved this band for most of my life and to have witnessed this great band in concert over a dozen times to date. I look forward to later this month to see them again on their journey..

  • Say what you want about the West Midlands... but one thing we're good at is music.

  • Been Listening Since the 60`s , Dose`nt get any better .

  • why isnt this band in the rock and roll hall of fame???????? THAT SUCKS

they are one of the five greatest bands ever QUEEN, BEATLES, STONES AND ZEPPELIN AND THE MOODIES i first heard this in the mud in vietnam and we shared our music with the brothers who shared theirs with us, whites. i think the temptations annd harold melvin and the spinners etc were geniueses as well--- ray thomas is very sick and waiting for a kidney transplant pray for him thanks

  • @TheMrtimmy28 AND MOST..THE DOORS....

  • @TheMrtimmy28 The R+RHOF is a joke.

What does ABBA, Madonna, John Mellonhead, Metallica,

and Runs-DMC all have in common?

They've all been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame BEFORE The Moody Blues.

I noticed that "YES" is also NOT an inductee... Nor is RUSH. IMO, Two bands along with The Moody Blues that should've been included years ago.

Certainly ahead of the above list...Run-DMC are you fuckin kidding me?

  • Love this band! Their songs are so unique and great!

  • I love the bass rift on this song. Dude's fingers must be in good shape. Walking the strings like that will make or break a bassist. Thanks for posting this song. One of the Moody Blue's best!

  • @edro31111

Actually, John Lodge uses a pick.

  • @Jelperman John is one of the best whatever he uses! Appreciate the insight though.

  • True enough - John Lodge and Graeme Edge made one solid rhythm section. I rate John Lodge right up with Greg Lake as a bassist.

  • Nobody ever mentions the rhythm section. Moody Blues is more than Justin Hayward.

  • Anyone having ANY doubt that Justin Hayward was "just" a competent rythm guitarist needs to really listen to this song and then think again. He really rolls the leads and fills out on this one. A song that both Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton would have been proud to write.

  • Still, after fourty years, it is good as new. I just love it!

  • @BastuGrabben same here,I just got back from their concert in Woodinville..Started with ''gypsy'' and their encore was ''ride my see-saw''......it was beyond AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the best of the best of the best!

  • Comment removed

  • I wonder how many songs from today, and how many music groups from today, will still be remembered, 45 years from now.

  • @StephenB58 Not many...and not many will ever come close to writing something as great as this.

  • This is one of the best songs ever!! Timeless classic!!

  • One of my favorite MB songs. It is about the fire of life and love. Anyone who has truley loved can relate!

  • TOTALLY AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!! :D LOL

  • Why isn't this band in the Rock and Roll of Fame? it's beyond imagination...

  • @Acancerian625 it's insulting really one of the best ever

  • @Acancerian625 They're not?!

  • @Acancerian625 because critics hate good stuff - GOD how they hated the Moody Blues - They crucified the Moody Blues and Emerson Lake and Palmer - both bands still have fans and sold a lot of records despite critics. Best revenge!

  • @Acancerian625 That is a very good question. In our minds, they are in the "Hall Of Fame"!!

  • @jr19711 LOL!!

  • This is music, what we have today is mostly crap.

    ooops, old people say that....

  • @dgl1962 I agree!! my dad probably thinks the same thing!!

    he was from that time!

though I will say that some modern Rock is "okay" not the best though!!

  • @braveheart6991 Dave Matthews does a terrific job though. But that is a different genre.

  • @jr19711 im 48 and just barley slowing down myself. but knowing me ill get my second wind again soon.

  • @jr19711 im too old for that now. i just hit the weekends or every other weekend.lol

  • @jr19711 wow are you still drunk. like a three day binge

  • @SPACEMADNESS42: The Moody Blues have always hired top professionals to provide the light show and screen displays for their tours. Since the late '90's they have used the services of Mick Thornton, so if either you or Dale Clark have concerns about rip-offs, have your lawyers contact Mr. Thornton or whomever was doing this kind of work for the Moodies before him. I expect you will find everything has been done legally.

  • @58docster not this time, they took something that clearly because the way it's made does not belong to them, it's artwork made using fractals(a mathematical formula plotted out onto a graph). this kind of work has over a million variables, it's like DNA!

Just type into google "tiedyeman's fractals" and click on the first site

not everything is done legally, plus trying to contact anyone that high up is almost impossible unless 50 people back you & flood the media with phone calls

  • genie...i have seen the story in your eyes and you have seen mine and we both have felt them...i love you sweetie...and always will, til death do us part..and that better not be for a long time honey...i want you sooo bad...the day you get here will be the best day of both of our lives, for sure sweetie....it will be our rebirth(without the spiritual conotations)...I LOVE YOU AND CANT WAIT TO MARRY YOU AND MAKE U MAKE, 10000000000% ...pete..

  • I can barely hear the best part of this song..........WHERE'S THE BASS!?!?!?!?

  • The Moody Blues are rip off artists and are in violation of US and international copyright laws, they ripped off Tiedyeman's fractals and used them in there stage show

  • @SPACEDMADNESS42 as Picasso said, "good artists borrow, great ones steal."

  • @rkymtnduck82 lol so true, I was a huge fan of the moody blues for years until a couple years ago when I saw them in concert for the first time, using my dad's art in a twist-swirl-Kaleidoscope envelope.without permission. I know half of there songs by heart. The FBI and half a dozen media outlets, lawyers have been contacted with little use. A fractal is like DNA you cannot reduplicate something with over a trillion variables, I was watching him make those fractals!

  • @SPACEDMADNESS42 The US is also a rip off country, so who cares. fuck copyright just listen to the music. Didnt Thomas Jefferson (yes a founding father) said that freedom of information is one of the most important things of life. or does it has nothing to do with copyright?

  • @jong639 it's got to do with fractal artwork which is currently registered at the US copyright office. Information does not include works of art.

I agree with Mr. Jefferson, which is why you deserve to know the truthful info I'm relaying, simply look up "tiedyeman's Fractals" on Google and click the first website, don't be afraid to order prints of the fractals the Moody blues ripped off. These one will be signed by the true artist Dale A. Clark and be worth lots of money!

  • Check out this video of "Marie" by Justin Hayward.

  • This song just does not get old. How I love it more over the decades.

  • The Moody Blues are still one of the most unique and amazing sounds in Rock and Roll. Thanks for all of the years of amazing music.

  • I gotta see these guys before its too late. Ive heard they play at King's Island every year.

  • Umm, sorry about the bummers, but I hope that it gave you hope for a better day...it did me

  • my comment would be found

only if guys can understand the words

    to this song....

    .

  • @mrbobo52 should have 5 or 6 in top 100 but assholes who vote this shit are kids they werent even in their fathers ball sac when the moodies were FUCKING HUGE i saw them 14 times live from 73 to 1997 in saratoga spring ny pray for ray thomas , he needs a kidney transplant bad and soon

  • Perfect

  • yes Justin is one awesome songwriter....

he could have had a brilliant solo career... but luckily...

he signed up with the Moodies and was just perfect for the part.

  • genius!!!

  • Kitty, are you going out on me again? (Just kidding).

  • KITTY...LAST NIGHT, THE MOST LIFE CHANGING NIGHT OF MY LIFE, THATS ALL I COULD READ..WAS THE STORY IN YOUR EYES...OUR CONVERSATION, DINNER, WALK, INTERTUDE WAS GREAT BUT ABOVE ALL OTHER WAS THE GLOW AND LOOK INTO YOUR EYES..ITS LIKE I COULD SEE INTO YOUR HEART AND CONSCIENCE, AND I HAVENT EVEN STARTED YET SWEETIE...I LOVE YOU, I CANT BELIEVE WE BOTH SAID THAT A BUNCH OF TIMES ON A FIRST DATE...I THINK WE ARE GOING TO BE PERFECT FOR EACH, AND I WILL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE YOU MINE FOREVER.i l y.pete

  • @rexrockandroll ...DAMN IT DIDNT WORK OUT..SHE WENT BACK TO HER X...MORE FUCKING HEARTBREAK, RIGHT B/4 THE holidays...damn...BUT TIME TO MOVE ON AND MORE ANEROBICALLY THAN EVER...SHE IS JUST IN MY GRASP, THE ONE I WANT TO SPEND THE REST OF TIME WITH..OTHERWISE, WHO THE HELL NEEDS TIME???????????

  • @rexrockandroll ...damn....but over it and with a great lady that is driving me nuts in all ways...x0x0x0x....

  • I also grew up with this music. soooooo awesome...

  • AWESOME-PLAIN AND SIMPLE.

  • One of the early played om my guitar I still remember the lyric s like 1979 was yesterday

-Is the music to the story in your eyes...is one of the most beautiful sentence ever.

  • Comment removed
