  • i believe KOF13 will rock this world!

  • lol KOF 13 is coming to xbox 360 now and i can not wait.

  • it's really usefull for every body(not just beginner's ^^)

and i also enjoy'd watch'n it ^^ thanx man i hope u make moooooore about moves and combos ^^

  • For beginner's (and dummies) like me :p

  • Wow, this is way more informative than any of the guides I've looked at for king of fighters.

  • Am I the only one who finds the beginning of this vid hilarious? Not only Kyo introduces himself like grizzled ex-celebrities in The Simpsons, but he suggests that anyone who plays fighting games and speaks English sucks at the games. xD

  • No joke, man. SNK should consider hiring you.

  • LOL!!! when Kyo came out of no where! I was just strain at that 2D traffic than BAM! outta nowhere comes Kyo. " Whats really good?!" XDDD

  • Greetings, from San Diego

  • This is a very good tutorial.

  • So you can force someone into the corner with a barrage of short hop attacks (C + D) because it leaves them with frame disadvantage (and thus allows another attack) or am I getting something wrong here

  • IMPRESIONANTE!!!!!!! eso es un tutorial

  • around 5:23 , somebody knowns the song's name?

  • @huevonesunltd Inner Shade, from the KOF2000 soundtrack

  • ohh shit!!! you are great!!!! It´s so cool this tutorial. Thanks a lot.

  • Haha, stupid gay ass piece of shit hyper low fuckjump. Great tutorial, btw!

  • Best English introductory material I've seen so far. Congrats!! 5*

  • Amazing tutorial!!!

  • Amazing tutorial!!!

  • this is amazingly well done!

  • Kyo sensei!

  • god damn. Kyo, you're so cool.

  • Do these techniques go all the way back to KoF '94? If they have, that's pretty deep.

  • They actually go back to KoF '96. KoF '94 and '95 felt quite a lot like Fatal Fury without the multiple planes.

  • Actually, they go back to 96 mostly. 94 and 95 from what I remember (then again I haven't played it in a long while) didn't have the 4 different jumps.

  • Wow, I actually thought this was made by SNK themselves. I love how this is like various other in game tutorials. Very well done.

  • Wow thx bro. I've been playin KOF since 99 came to the states and this helped me out

  • Wow, this is amazing. Kudos for taking the time to make this incredible video.

  • congratulations sir ...your tutorial is excellent

  • You win the internets good sir.

SNKP should have paid you to do this, and included it as an extra DVD on the console version =)

  • Perfect tutorial. Couldn't have said any of it better!

  • One of the most awesome videos I've seen!!

  • Extremely good tutorial, nice work

  • its very hard to execute the small jump countinously in vs game attacking,,,

  • awesome tutorial!

  • excellent

  • Great Tutorial. Especially since everyone loves Street Fighter. Very few give KOF the credit it deserves for how awesome it is. I mean don't get me wrong, SFIV is an amazing game but I'll take KOF and Guilty Gear anytime over SF. Hell, I'll take Arcana Heart 2(Arcade ver.) and BlazBlue over SFIV.

  • Me To

  • thank you!

  • lovin the vid

  • This is really excellent, it's very informative, on a level even newbies can understand and it's given in a really interesting way.

  • STUPID ASS PIECE OF SHIT HYPER LOW FUCK JUMP lmao. funny great vid

  • sweet, this will improve my ~yomi~ by a thousand. thanks sirlin j

  • Lol at 6:34 xD

  • man i got so rusty at this game i had to watch this. i've been playing street fighter too much haha. both games rock!

  • "stupid gay ass piece of shit hyper low fuckjump"

lmao can't belive i caught that.

    thanks for the tutorial

  • you are the man dandy! thanks

  • This is a great tutorial!

  • wow! this was a very detailed guide for anyone who knows next to nothing about KOF (like me =P). but since im getting KOF: The Orochi Saga for the PS2 which has KOF 94-98, i'll be using your guide to get a good feel of the series so when KOF XII comes out, i'll be ready.

  • wow! this is a very detailed and useful guide for anyone who knows next to nothing about KOF (like me =P). but since im getting KOF: the Orochi saga for the PS2 which has KOF 94-98, i'll be using your guide to help me get a good feel of the series so when KOF XII comes out, i'll be ready.

  • That was a great tutorial. I have always loved KoF and now I understand it a little better. I can't wait for XII to come home!

  • Very well made, this gave a lot of useful information. I have always been a casual KOF player but always liked the series.

Never knew about the jumping types, mostly it happened by accident so will try this out next time I am playing KOF XI.

  • awesome vid,man

it really makes me smile this vid

  • *_* Wonderful. Great Job.

  • Great stuff.

I've been playing KOF since 2001, starting with 98... and did not know even half of what is shown here.

    Thank you for this!

  • Amazing! Let them learn before they touch our game! :P

  • Indeed buddy! :D

  • Wow 5 stars, REALLY well made.

  • Amazing introduction to the KoF series, very professional-looking and fun.

  • I've been playin kof since I was little and I can't believe I didn't know about all the stuff explained in this vid.

  • Wow I just learned a few things i did know. nice job

  • No wonder I didn't like KOF, I played it like a Street Fighter

  • Same here!! I wonder where this video is from.

  • only ever played the saturn ones, thanks for this!

  • stupid gay ass piece of shit hyperlow fuckjump

ROFLMAO had to fave this shit.

  • awesome tutorial vid. great work

  • awesome. tutorial dude.

  • wow...this was so well put together !!

  • great guide, i've been playing kof for years and never knew half this shit lol

  • Amazing guide! As soon as he said "What's really good?" I knew it would be gold. And it did not disappoint.

  • I am very impressed by the high quality production of this video. Keep it coming! Your work is great.

  • When it started with the "Jumping" I thought "My god this will be a noob's guide"... then I realized it was very well made, I know KoF since... Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury, and this video brought me a smile. This shows KoF is really a hardcore fighting game, I'd say more than Street Fighter, too bad not too many people know it. Over here in Mexico is very popular, more than anything else, seconded by Marvel vs Capcom 2.

  • great tutorial

  • wow, taht video was really well done, i've been playing kof for years, and this fundamental video really enlighten and educated me even more of the game.

  • muy buen video, muy bueno 5/5

  • just letting you know that i have your video featured in my chanel.

  • i only know kof from cvs2 that my parents bought when i was younger. after seeing kof 12 i plan on making it my first. this will be really useful thank you.

  • kof 12 is going to be the shit

but you should also try out 98

  • Depending on your taste, you may like XI as well

  • Damn...what an AWESOME video. Thanks so much for this.

  • bird kick :3

  • Thank you for the excellent video. I look forward to the third one. I wish actual fighting game companies would add these to their games.

  • Extremely well made. Keep it up.

  • Learn by doing my young Padawan. XD

Awesome video non the less. :D

  • The KOF2003 font would have rocked.

  • Hmm...Kyo still has trouble speaking English, no wonder why he dropped out of High school. =P

  • I dunno if it's just me, but I heard his voice like Rex from Napoleon Dynamite.

  • RIP poporu

  • i've always loved KOF but never learned how to play it right.. this helps alot

    thank you =D

  • Very interesting!

  • I loled when I saw 'dabbled'.

Great job, very pleased with this. Eagerly awaiting the next vid!

  • good job man, and i'm glad you're back :D, even if i'm a girl i play kof and i manage every time :D, but after i saw this i'm like ... i didn't knew that XD

  • is it going to be hard to transition from sf to kof?

  • Not too much, just take it easy and it should happen naturally. At least it did for me...

  • Something to know in transitioning your playstyle from SF to something like KOF is to remind yourself to be mobile. As Dandy mentions in the video, KOF is -fast- and you have to think on the move.

  • Thanks a lot for this guide!

  • Hi Selg, good video,i love kof series, but i still prefer street fighter series more. :/

  • Great guide thanks

  • ok so i downloaded the video to share with my sucribers but the video file is too big man. anything to say qbout it

  • YouTube's limit is now 1 gigabyte, so you should be able to upload it. After all, it is the same exact file that I uploaded!

  • i tried to upload the file but after 5 hours the bar the advance was just about half and it stopeed automatically. we gotta get more people into kof

  • "If you speak English and you play fighting games, chances are you don't play much KOF"

Say what?! I love KOF and have been playing since KOF 94 first came out. Only problem I've had with KOF is that it's become a very technical fighter. If you can't switch character and pull off these 20+ hit combos then you really can't hang with those that have that jedi-like skill. I really hope KOF XII returns to being easy to just pick up and play.

  • Kinda reminds me of the excellent tutorial of VF4:E, just in 2D ^^

Man, it's a shame that console-versions of 2D-fighting-games don't have such a tutorial. Well, that's what YouTube is for XD

  • OMG this is so awesome

  • Excellent video! It's good to have a beginner's tutorial for KOF. Of all the time I've spent playing KOF, I've never utilized the various types of jumping maneuvers. I've always just played it like any other 2-D fighter. I haven't got that deep into it. I really gotta try this in '98UM.

  • I love the editing in the video, looking forward to your next work!

  • Good job

  • "...If you speak English and you play fighting games, chances are you don't play much KOF..."

    Haha, too true :(

  • WHAT'S REALLY GOOD?!

  • Best beginner's guide to a fighting game I've ever seen. Can't wait for part 2.

  • even though i already know everything, the tutorial is godlike, than you so much

  • Wow... that was a really good tutorial! I've never seen such a goood Fighting Game Tutorial Video before XD Honestly!

Therefore: well done! Can't wait to see the second part! : )

  • Excellent work i play alot of 2d fighters but never got into KOF i think now ima try it out !! thancks for the vid

  • great work I love it.

    The next-one!!

  • great video man, cant wait for part 2 :D

  • Whoa now thats is some awesome stuff!! Thanks for sharing it with us, hardcore kof-players! I look forward for the part2.

  • this guide is so in depth!!! thnx to whoeva made!!

  • This is awesome stuff man. I've played KOF before but I played it more like the SF series. It's the small technical aspects like this that are going to help me improve my rush down game.

  • Very nice video! This will surely help some people to get into KOF!

  • Great vid. Your efforts are very much appreciated. I'll be sending this to my SF friends right away.

  • great vid man... i gotta get into this. Maybe you can do a vid like this for SFIV too :)

  • Nope, everything is from the KOF2000 soundtrack.

  • Where was this video in the late 90's? Oh how we needed this...

The world needed you then DandyDLC... better late than never though, oh yes, much better late than never.

    Thank you.

  • No doubt, definite sub, can't wait for the rest, oh God i hope there's more...lol

  • This actually turned out to be a very good guide for all non-KoF players. And to think I was against people like that, but... this video just kept my mouth shut, mainly towards the KoF haters. *lol*

If it's alright, I'ma put this video on my SNK Playmore Facebook group and fan page. This'll definitely be good for the non-KoF players. Thanx in advance. Can't wait to see part 2. :D

  • Hey just want to add to the good sentiments, thanks for all the work put into the video. You may not remember, but we got some games in back on that korean P2P service a long time back and I'm hoping to get into KoF more now!

I'll be directing my friends to this!

    Thanks tons.

  • I recognize your screen name but I'm not sure if I remember you being on Poporu. Either way Poporu owned, didn't it? There's this new thing called ArcLive, I call it Chinese GGPO. You can google it, it's kinda crappy right now but the way they have it set up seems like they could add rooms + quarter match. They even ripped the avatars from Poporu in it.

  • Senior, The ArcLive link is not working, do you know any other source? Also it would be nice if you give a guide how to navigate that page, that is if you have enough time.

    多谢

  • Yeah, I think it's down at the moment. There's not much to Chinese to navigate, once you get the client, there's an English .exe in the folder.

  • I enjoyed this video. You didn't bash Street Fighter and favoured one type of fighting game in this tutorial. Would you mind if I used this video for a promo movie i'm making for an anime convention here in Texas? We're getting KOF XII and I want to direct people to your video.

    Peace and love!

    Maury V.

  • That'd be great! I have no problem with anyone showing the video anywhere.

  • Thank you.

  • DandyDLC, this is AWESOME, and I dont even care about the KOF series! I just love fighting games and like to see people doing things for the community... THIS IS GREAT!!!

You did a sick job, and the editing and explanations are TOP NOTCH. Fighting game communities need more people like you.

  • Incredible video, specially done for american or british people who never have touched the games... I'm latinamerican and here a lot of people play KOF... It's sad you have realized the incredible potential of this game, but it's better now than never. Enjoy playing :D

  • good stuff

  • I've Been playing KOF for over 10 years but never got good at it, because my basic skills are weak, despite the fact that i can combo etc. This Video is of great help, some things i just never figured out, like Benimaru's Hop D...

  • This is an amazing guide! Great job, Dandy!

  • Years playing KOF but im surprised.

5 stars is just too few to qualify this video.

  • I wish this video was available when I was trying KOF, hehe.

  • I've played KOF since '94 and I've never run into such a detailed gameplay guide. DandyDLC, you should work in a VG magazine.

Everybody, let's post this at boards, they need to know about the word of KOF!

  • very good man , nice guide

im wait to part 2 ;)

  • This is awesome. I'm ready to go try some of this stuff right now.

  • Oh, nicely done! The Blacknoah approves your tutorial! Hopefully a lot of people will be able to appreciate KOF more because of this vid.

We anxiously await for Part 2!

  • Dandy J, this was really good. Nice job.

  • 5/5 superb

  • Arigato! Kyo Sama!

  • thank you very much for this video.

  • Very Good

  • i never knew the jumping where such an important part of the game.

  • This was a great video. It seems like KOF is very hop centric, what about jumps and super jumps?

  • Seeing this video is just getting me more excited to play XII! I've played KOF for a handful of years, but I still learned a few things here.

Great job, and looking forward to the next video!

  • Lovin' it!

You should have Terry do Part 2!

  • Best KOF tutorial vid EVER!!!

    Can't wait for part 2!

  • I never seen anyone break down the game like this before, so this guide is insightful to me. I wish this guide was made when Poporu was still around. ;)

  • Even a KOF junkie like me learned a few tricks, good job

  • Great job dude, wow.

  • Thank you.

  • well done. 5/5

  • try your skills here

    gptcomplete;net/kof

  • Wow, this was EXTREMELY well done. Very helpful for an SNK scrub such as myself.

  • this is really great, thanks for making it

  • King amongst men.

  • Oh shit, very nicely done.Great job with the editing and such, I'd be surprised if anything nearly as informative shows up in the boxed copy of 12.

  • Really nice editing and very informative!

    Fantastic job.

  • That was really well edited, and really informative.

    Really well done =D

  • good shit very informative.. im good in executing combos in KOF but my tactics are kind of low this will help

  • Good stuff.

  • wow, great video. I wanna try some KOF now, haha

  • This vid is tight, more newer people need to play kof!

  • good stuff man, people need this

  • J, as a longtime fan of your work (even if you did kick my ass in Poporu '98 back in the day), I must say you've really outdone yourself this time. Where most YouTube tutorials (and many professional ones, too!) are unclear and rambling, you've really got something coherent and attention-grabbing here.

Just make sure you cover alternate guard at some point; that's still one of my biggest stumbling blocks as an eternal KOF scrub.

  • VERY straightforward and easy to follow. Awesome work all around dude. I look forward to the sequel. : )

  • Man i was wondering how i'd teach my friends howto play, im not a good teacher but this'll do it!

  • Such well made and detailed video.I'm not beginner but after watching this I felt like a noob in kof who didn't know so much basic technics. Also thanks for using kyo as the "teacher" in this video,I'm a Kyo fan!!

  • Well that was just swell. I never really played a lot of KOF so I didn't know about all the different jumps and stuff.

  • Marvellous, simply a great job!!!

  • Never played a KOF game in my life but i'm excited now. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

  • noice

  • Good stuff man. More fighters need introductory videos like this.

  • This is good. Now I don't have to explain to others how to play. I'll just refer this video to them.

  • Spread this around to anybody willing to give KOF a look. This is a great primer for beginners

  • Masterfully edited. This is a great service to people who are basically foreign to KoF. It's very informative without being overbearing; I don't see it turning off newcomers.

As great as SNK's instruction manuals usually are (I DIED when I read the one for KoF '98:Ultimate Match) this is much more entertaining and interactive. Lol.

  • Presentation is out of this world, honestly can't wait any longer for the next parts.

  • voted the length of my dick in cm (that's 5 fyi)
