MAKING OF: The opening scene of the film, where Sheena rides in his zebra was filmed in Amboseli park. Tanya Roberts coached ride bareback before filming began.

MAKING OF: the team used various trained animals: five horses, four chimpanzees, 16 birds, four leopards, an elephant and a rhinoceros. After filming, all animals returned to the USA, except the rhino was donated to an African Reserve.

MAKING OF: Elizabeth of Toro (shaman) in real life was a model for Vogue, lawyer, minister of foreign affairs of Uganda during the reign of dictator Idi Amin Dada of Uganda and ambassador to the United States from 1986 to 1988.

The Zambulli people in Sheena have the same kind of harmonious relationship with nature that the Na'vi do in Avatar in case no one noticed, the only thing missing is the ques. :D
