  • lol, this sounds like Big Bang Theory.

  • good work here

  • Thank you so much for this video, im a psychology student and im studying biological explanations to schizorphrenia, this video really helped me understand how nuerotransmitters work :)

  • For those of you wondering about the music playing, it's "Mysterious Neuron" from Joe Hisaishi, a Japanese Composer and musical genius. It's from his Universe Within II: Brain & Mind album, composed for a 6 part documentary series "Jintai II" produced by NHK Creative. It was also produced for the Discovery Channel, titled "The Brain: Our Universe Within", a 5 part series. This video is from the "Evolution" episode of "The Brain: Our Universe Within", and it is narrated by David Suzuki.

  • This is only a theory of whats working in our brains. Its not conclusive. Don't use ANY DRUGS or substances and your brain will mature healthy. Psychiatrists intentionally target brain cells to damage and make you crazy so they can make money while you suffer and die in agony while they laugh.

  • @SuperDelta000

While its true that these drugs can cause damage and are over-prescribed, many people benefit greatly from them, so instead of accusing the inanimate drug, blame the doctor and the patient, the ones who should gather more knowledge on pharmacy before toying with chemicals. And I guess any drug means antibiotics, seizure medication and Advil, right?

  • @almostskater3210 How can anyone benefit from psychiatric drugs when you said that these drugs can cause damage?. The patient is never too blame, they dont know what these drugs do, the psychiatrists sure do. Blame the psychiatrist and government. antibiotics anti-inflammatories have nothing to do with mind altering drugs. Its a different world and a different class of drugs.

  • @SuperDelta000

No matter what, the user (patient) should always know exactly what he/she is putting into his/her body. You said ANY DRUG; never said they had to be centrally active. Every drug, from antibiotics and Tylenol to heroin and meth, can cause damage, but also have therapeutic use. For instance, anti-psychotics can cause loss of pleasure and motor problems, but help many live normally with schizophrenia. Heroin can kill, but is also the best painkiller for relief of terrible pain.

  • @almostskater3210 No, that's the responsibility of the Doctor. The Doctor is responsible to heal and cure the patient not damage them. Antibiotics destroy bacteria, Tylenol stops occasional aches and pains, psychiatric drugs have NO therapeutic effect, they only cause irreversible brain, mind, and body damage. Schizophrenia is not a disease. Powerful painkillers are used for incurable pain. Psychological problems can be distressing but can be avoided by not abusing street drugs and alcohol.

  • @SuperDelta000

Let's take a prime example. 17 out of 20 patients no longer had PTSD after 4 sessions or less of MDMA therapy. So you think Parkinson's, Huntington's, depression, anxiety, etc are avoidable? Many time they aren't. More people die from Tylenol than any illegal drug via liver damage. Painkillers are addictive. Those are bad effects; I assume you know the good. Schizophrenia causes hallucinations, delusions that can end up in homicide; it is a brain dysfunction, unless you think

  • @SuperDelta000

it's natural. I am for centrally active drugs that can be beneficial. Are you under the false assumption that everybody's brains are the same? Different drugs work on different people, so blaming the drug would be like blaming a soda for you not liking it. SSRIs (psychoactive) were shown to be clinically significant (aka scientists, by collection of empirical evidence, drew conclusions that the drug is helpful) on people with not moderate but major depression. Common misuse of pr

  • @SuperDelta000

scription here. It is prescribed to those with moderate depression, even though it's been shown to be clinically insignificant! Xanax saved my mothers life; who are you to say that no matter what, centrally active drugs are bad when many people obviously benefit from them? Anybody who trusts a human-being, no matter a doctor or not, to advise him/her on what chemicals to change his/her brain with is a fool. Learn what you're putting into YOUR body.

  • @SuperDelta000

...cont... a couple psychoactive drugs that have obvious therapeutic effects. Valium for seizures, opiates for pain, anti-psychotics for schizophrenia, l-DOPA for Parkinson's (gave patients ability to talk, move when they used to be a "vegetable"), SSRIs for depression, ketamine for depression (amazing; look this up) and pain (also incredible), MDMA for PTSD, zolpidem for sleep, methamphetamine for apathy disorders.

  • @almostskater3210 Valium isnt indicated for seizures, antipsychotics have no known benefit. L-DOPA is a central drug for a REAL DISEASE, SSRI's have no use. ketamine is used for pain not depression. MDMA is a street drug and no such things as PTSD, zolpidem has no use as its a brain damaging drug. methaphetamines are central damaging drugs that do nothing but damage brains.

  • @SuperDelta000

Who cares if MDMA is illegal? Clinically, it works. I have evidence that it works. PTSD, no matter what you think about it, is real. Valium IS used for seizures. SSRIs have been shown to be clinically effective. Ketamine is used for depression via something called a ketamine coma. Zolpidem worked for my aunt. Meth helps people who have apathetic problems, based on communication I've had with 2 people with anhedonia. Antipsychotics should be used in people with extreme illness.

  • @SuperDelta000

...cont... my info is based on empirical evidence. I KNOW THAT DRUGS CAN HAVE HORRIBLE/TERRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS AND SHOULD NOT ALWAYS BE USED AND WHEN THEY ARE, BE USED PROPERLY, WITH A VALID PRESCRIPTION REASON. That does not change the fact that they help many people, and no matter what you say, that statement stands true. MDMA is a specialty of mine, and I KNOW it works, personally and empirically.

  • @SuperDelta000 Seriously, dude?

  • @narcomanel Yes seriously.

  • @SuperDelta000 I would have said the pharmacy business lol

  • @SuperDelta000 That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

  • @psychobabble1988 Keep taking your drugs.

  • @SuperDelta000 its fairly obvious you dont know what youre talking about

  • @TheFirmament Pot calling kettle.

  • NEVER USE DRUGS TO MANIPULATE NATURAL BRAIN ACTIVITY. YOU'LL DAMAGE IT FOR LIFE!

  • @SuperDelta000

....continued.... not to sound insulting, but do you even have formal schooling on the topic? Because if you don't, what you are saying is immoral and unjust. Never is it OK to pass medical advise if you are not properly educated on the topic. I am very against unethical prescribing, but making blanket term like "never use drugs" is a bad idea. Most statements like that have myriad exceptions. I assume if you were educated, you might understand neurotransmitters are hormones.

  • @almostskater3210 So you are for central acting drugs to damage brains?. I understand everything. You aren't looking at things spiritually, you look at things as objectively. Open your mind.

  • @SuperDelta000 Nootropics are not dangerous buddy. Well they might be if you overdose on them just like anything else.

  • @lucidrealm1 Aren't Nootropics synthetic?. If they are they're toxic.

  • @SuperDelta000 Some synthetic things can be made 100% identical by having the exact combination of atoms in the exact configuration, but this is not always possible in some situation as I understand. Not all synthetic things are bad, but some are if they can't be made exactly as nature makes them the way they are to be in our body.

  • @lucidrealm1 Synthetics are never identical to natural vitamins, medicines etc. Any drug, vitamin, that is man-made in a lab is synthetic and toxic. Scientists can mimic mother nature all they want and it's always toxic. Read up on Toxicology. This field is out of secret in 2012. You'll be surprised.

  • @SuperDelta000 I feel like I've read enough, but I guess I'll leave myself open to other answers like yours.

  • @lucidrealm1 OK cool.

  • psychiatrists permanently damage the brains hormones and neurotransmitters.

  • Anyone know the song at 1:35 or 1:45ish?

  • @ScorpiaX its the song used by neuroscientists in the formation of electrical brain activity

  • its this ability that takes us from here(peaceful looking place) to here(messy ass loud city)

  • incredible

  • To understand why we do what we do; our actions. feelings, & emotions --we must study the source: the brain.

  • CAVE!??? WTF!!! i didnt come from any type of cave haha

  • Great emphasize complexity... ugh

  • that is so amazing! the human body is extremely complex

  • And all of this happends within a second. The human body is amazing.

  • Haha, that little cave. I bet that was some poor sods house. Good vid, cheers

  • When COINTELPRO Perps, so called "Gangstalkers" are stalking, gaslighting, and telling a lie that what they comimt is just a coincidence, what is the dominant chemical in their brain, dopamine or adrenaline?

  • @GroundZeroHiroshima good question.

  • Great animation...

But a lot of this is theory folks... Gotta start somewhere though.

  • @imaginarygirl6 And what if what we know as our "universe" is just a single neuron in an infinitely larger being...God?

  • Comment removed

  • @bmadccp I like Reptile Jesus more. :D Seriously why should you make up something like god to describe universe when it is already defined by the word universe? And if it's neuron, its neuron. Where does the god come from? Well actually i prob know. People always describe everything they don't comprehend as some magic, and as science pushes forward the god must retreat to more and more distant corners of the universe.

  • @p6v53as435fe I respectfully disagree. If any, science is bringing us closer to God more than anything. When scientists study the universe, nature , our own planet to the smallest things: atoms, human cells, microorganisms, neurons, etc, they are finding organization, structure, purpose and function. All of them combined seem like perfectly DESIGNED. In an empty land throw some bricks, mortar and construction materials and come back in 10 years and tell me if you find a house built by itself.

  • @carsea74 I agree that it seems like a design at first look. But when you look even closer you realize that everything you saw as designed in fact is just a solution of universe, a balanced states that happens to be unique, an equilibrium between many forces, and these forces don't longer seem like designed, they just seem natural. And if you look this way at things you see ho naturally some of them may join to more difficult structures, and this process have no reason to stop whatsoever.

  • Liked your video, thank you.

  • brain...storm lol

  • mmh it strikes me as odd, how many ppl were paying attention to the music, it happened to me too, i guess neurons aren't really into themselves so they were more interested in music

or maybe were to lazy to discern important information from background music

  • magical beings we are, and don't really appreciate it

  • Im guessing George W had no neurons?

  • @mrko1888 An update of your comment. Reports showing that george W had no neurons are now a fact.

  • I really appreciate the detail you gave in describing the brain and the neurons. I know that it took many hours to think through this process and then to animate it. Good job.

  • he sounds like the brain from pink and the brain

  • @aznfantasy21 Narrrf

  • @aznfantasy21 Which technically mean he sounds like Orson Welles

  • This music is so creepy... Sort of ruins the clip.

  • @arainade learn from what the guy says, fuck the music, the info is what you need to hear not the background music

  • like a network connection..hehehe

  • the music makes me nervous

  • The Brain! What a wonder!!!!

  • does anyone know what the music is called at 1:29?

  • @bubbletrouble295 omg ur such a loser

  • does my brain really sound like Halo 3?

  • It's quite easy to manipulate the chemicals in the brain without drugs. I do it all the time, especially when I'm depressed. I'll eat up on high-tryptophan foods for breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner. 20-30 minutes in the sun, than after dinner a 30-45 minute run, followed by a strawberry smoothie and baked potato. The brain literally floods with serotonin after that process. Also, eat blueberries. The brain sucks up the nutrients for neurogenesis =D

  • @SumNJFella you got it all wrong......you are not flooding your brain with serotonin you are flooding your brain with sugar...........blueberries, strawberry smoothie, baked potato is sugar you do not know what you are talking about.

  • Moron spoke too soon lol. First of all your body needs tryptophan in order to have serotonin production. I'll type in a way you'll understand. I stock my body with tryptophan throughout the day. Dinner comes which is usually high-carb,low-protein.Brown rice and a scrambled egg is my favorite. Yes it floods the brain with serotonin. I also run 5 miles everyday. Have the healthiest diet along with 1 supplement (vitamin B) Why would you assume you know how my body converts foods into serotonin?lol

  • @SumNJFella Look I know all about tryptophan and how it converts into serotonin.

Brown rice does not flood the brain with Serotonin. The reason why you feel good from the rice is because the starch converts to sugar which gives you a boost in energy...................................

  • how can i download this video?

  • I don't like how it cuts off...

  • It's really amazing. I now know how my brain works after reading my book or watching the good movie. Thank you so much.

  • "that quite simply"... what???

  • beautiful!

  • Amazing

  • Yes, you can 'hack' the brain. It's called Pavlovian Conditioning. In theory, you could use some sort of unheard/unsensed stimulus as a conditioned stimulus. Not likely, but could work in theory. There are probably studies on it somewhere if you want to know more. You can check on google scholar for more info.

  • why does this sound like a horror movie?

why were people fighting on this video?

    questions

  • "TO ALL PEOPLE WHO ARE READING THIS : DOSE THE ELECTRICITY OF BRAIN CAN BE HACKED VIA SOME TECHNOLOGY? Can ANY Microwaves or ELF Waves Manipulate the Electricity of the brain?

My Clear Question : Do some people Reading OUR MINDS And manipulating our subconscious regions of mind-brain via having the electricity of our brain in thier computers?

    I hope for Answers!"

  • theoretically this is possible, yes. The problem is however the locating of specific subregions - we have no 1 on 1 mapping of any person, so control would at first be very 'rough'

  • YES.

    Don't know but possibly.

Yes but in their internal computers, not their external quad cores with the nvidia graphics card.

The mind is VERY easy to manipulate.

  • no, you cannot hack the brain, the electricity used to send and receive messages in the brain is mostly chemical, although these chemical compounds are polar and can be positive or negative, so they produce a small charge of electricity that makes the impulse move, these means to send an order, or receive one. but you are sending and receiving thousands of millions of impulses per minute in the brain, so even if you can generate a microwave that affects the neuron, you will not be able to design

  • Nice :O)

  • @kzarez you can hack the brain easily with certain drugs.

  • @Thrashaero it´s not related to hacking as we can understand: the infiltration to access information. drugs affect the brain and propose a different set of conditions that can lead to the state of mind in wich you can ask someone something personal and he will tell, or persuade him to do something... drugs do not read minds!

  • @kzarez no, but their wires do, and they're wrong. I want to leave her now and go work for someone else. I am no longer loyal to my territory. I feel nothing and need to leave.

  • @kzarez Shantelle Campbell is a whore, and the reason you'll die. Don't value anything.

  • a specific order to make the neuron behave like you want... so no, you cannot do something like that, the best you can do is trick the whole system by cheating, lying, or forcing the whole individual to do what you want him to do...

  • True, :O)

  • @mrelectron111

Not in the way that you are phrasing it. You can use a Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) to try to read what the brain intends, but this involves a lot of effort on the patient's part to try and teach the interface to interpret simple messages. There isn't a computer in the world that has nearly enough storage capacity and processing power to read intricate brain messages and you can't measure many neurons with individual accuracy at the same time.

  • do someone know how to connect these neurons?

  • good graphics

  • anyone know the name of the song they use in this video?

  • this is what i study in college

  • Comment removed

  • Our brain is awfully complicated... if it were simpler to understand we'd be too stupid to do so...

    -X

  • very very true man :)

  • Something is only complicated when you don't understand it.

Gravity was complex for Newton, until he understood how simple the formula really is.

  • "Newfangled" cortex? Is that what he says at the beginning?

  • So, if we have even bigger brains, we can obtain new types of emotions and thinking?

  • New types of emotion ?

Maybe we would see emotion in a different way, but not new types.

Thinking would increase if everything increased by the same.

  • well it doesnt look like there is a limit to creativity, why not? you can mix and match, create. just because you improve or create doesnt mean every category bumbs up, ever center.

  • Nah it is not that hard to comprehend actually.. If you study Biology you will understand the many processes and jargon being used.. Biology is pretty fascinating and fulfilling subject to learn as we are learning more about ourselves and the world that we tend to take for granted

  • zoom zoom zoom

  • this is aways fascinating stuff, just trying to comprehend it makes my brain hurt

  • That quite simply WHAT???! AAAGH!

  • amazing ,thx for the video !

  • i think the brian resembles the internet

  • in fact... the sodium-potasium bomb of mammals works in binary... open (1) -close (0)...

every cell works like that, and computers language are based in that, remember that human body is a really really complicated biological machine.

  • but right now computers process linearly while our brian processes things in parallel,

but yea still a very complicated biological machine.

  • what do you mean? i have 3 computers that processes things in parallel. Multi-core processors, it has been around for average consumers since about 2005. The latest operating systems support it and more and more software is designed for it.

  • True I revoke my previous claim. There are parallel processing systems using many computers, Multi-core processors is one (though clumsy) way to achieve this. As im sure you're aware projects like The Blue Brain project have been building digital models of mammalian brains, in hopes of one day representing the human brain in this way. This is done with many many computers. one computer to do all the calculations for one neuron. so 100 billion computers for the human brain, all in communication

  • it likes like the mind processes all over the damn place, no?

  • fuck i spelled "brain" wrong

  • I named my brain "Brian", so as to avoid that problem. I recommend you do the same.

  • yeah, i know how to spell it, i can spell it right all the time if i write it. it was just a typo

  • im your brain

  • It's amazing how brain functions. I enjoyed studying this.

  • QUITE SIMPLY WHAT!!! ahhhhh lol

  • this is unbelievable and so amazing a the same time

  • The narrator sounds like David Suzuki, if it's not actually him that is.

  • this is so incredible, i've always always pondered about the actual mechanism of life we have itself, the brain. Wow....but i didnt get some...the older part of the brain....looks over the new parts? is this a way of moduating change in belief, from expereinces, and my mind has diffrent sections, when i'm completely depressed, imagination can do wonders, it's like my brain loves it's self because of past memories. Thanks Alot for this. Peac>

  • thank you, that was great this will help me for my exam :)

  • Great graphics and explanation. I always wanted to create game which would compile similar views on organs, cells like here.

  • So our brain is itself like a city? "I", then, is just an illusion we (the neural networks) create to contrast ourselves with the outside world.

  • :D THanks For addIng this videO!!! it really helped!!!

  • very good
