  • Wish I had a master system

  • SEGA!!! ,.......failed the challenge

  • @exdum not here it didn't! nintendo on the other hand...

  • Those kids are getting far too into monopoly.

  • See how close they are to the TV kids? That's where cancer comes from :)

  • i wonder what would happen if u traveled trugh time and showed them a ps3 on an hd tv xD with a game that plays on 1080p xD like god of war or ffxiii would they crap their pastt pants?

  • No sonic!!! D:

  • @TheJacob6092 This was before Sonic.

  • @TheJacob6092 Alex Kidd was SEGA's original unofficial mascot. Remember, this is the late 80's, not the 90's. Sonic didn't come around until June 23rd, 1991.

  • GANGSTA TOWN!

  • I wonder what happen when the present consoles are introduced at that time ?

  • i have it ^^

  • If i could timetravel and send gamers from back then a message it would be this:

"The challenge will always be there"

Sega won't though, so enjoy the next two decades like they're the last....

  • @Syaoman5 Well said

  • I`m so happy to vsauce sent me this far out in youtube. I had this Sega Master at my dad`s. Great to see all of these commercials. Oh and by the way, you are about to be invaded by the vsauce army:)

  • VSAUCE

  • holy shit i had this one, it was awesome

  • challenge accepted XD

  • The Challenge will always be there!

*Pops up for a fraction of a second*

    (But the system will not.)

  • I sound old saying this but, if the old school systems didn't exist you wouldn't be playing Modern Warfare 3 today.

  • I cried so hard at those commercials whenever I see them when I search them on the web. The background music is pure in the 80s. The challenge for SEGA will always be there!!!

  • @overhazard rumor has it microsoft just paid 47 million for exclusive dlc rights to monoply. Preorder bonus is the master chief game piece...

  • Im so pre-ordering monopoly ...u think Gamestop would have that?

  • @jayceodell Would it be available for pre-order? What bonuses do you get with it?

  • Can't wait to get monopoly I already have! Alex Kidd, Sonic, Outrun, Shinobi, Phantasty Star And!!! ROCKY!

  • @Califacience 85' in Japan, 86' in North America, and 87' in Europe.

  • Now where's the challenge sega?

  • 'Coming soon..,,,..MONOPOLY'!!!!

    HOLY SHIT!!

im getting that, whens it out????

  • @wrathallll 1989, I believe.

  • @Overhazard NO WAY!!

    ITS ALREADY OUT?!?

  • @wrathallll It's already out. Sorry to tell you.

  • They had me at "Monopoly".

  • SEGA! THESE GAMES WILL BEND YOU OVER AND MAKE YOU BEG FOR MORE!!!!!

Ah, I miss the old days some times. Then again, I like my Minecraft and Left 4 Dead.

  • Ernie Anderson!

  • THE CHALLENGE WILL ALWAYS BE TH-

  • Ohh gawd these games look crappy and low quality. But I know if I'm offending people, I'm so sorry.. It's my opinion. x.x

  • @ChocoToken

We're talking about stuff that was made almost 20 years ago. You can't compare them to modern games and call them low quality and stuff.

Gamers are getting way too spoiled when it comes to graphics nowadays....

    *shakes head and walks away*

  • @Syaoman5 It's over 20 years ago, actually. 20 years ago was the 16-bit generaton already.

  • @Overhazard

    Thanks for the correction ^^

  • @Overhazard I think this is about 23 years ago - 1987.

    December 3, 2010

  • @Syaoman5 So true, when i first showed my Friends smash TV they were dumb enough to think it was a rip off of Dead ops arcade, and now they love it more then dead ops, and as for systems, same thing goes there, they don't respect it, but give it time and the'll love it!!! :D

  • Where's the rest of the description?

  • @GigaHazard Why, is something wrong?

  • @Overhazard Well...after the "8-" part. Or is the description supposed to be like that?

  • @GigaHazard You're right. It's NOT supposed to be like that. It was complete before. I'll go fix it.

  • @Overhazard ;)

  • Segata Sanshiroooo!!

  • @Giby86 Not in this one. This was before Segata Sanshiro.

  • @Overhazard I know, of course. After all...Sega Saturn shiro says it all!

  • and coming soon... monopolieee!

  • The Bag of Money was the newest piece, and came out a while ago, after being chosen in a poll

  • It's Master System, you twat!

  • THE CHALLENGE WILL ALWAYS BE TH-

Even back then Sega knew they'd die out early.

    Just kidding. I love Sega.

  • @Seiguna12 Oh, it's just YouTube. It likes to cut off videos a few frames early for some reason.

  • Wasn't this big in Europe too?

  • @Masz52 Not as big as in South America. But yeah, SEGA managed to get a strong foothold in Europe.

  • Oh, Sega you and your crazy 8-bit system.

    You so wacky!

  • @ColBarnaby Dude, um, 8-bit is like Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, etc. At the very least this is 16-bit.

  • @LuigiFan1996 No, this was 8-bit, even if it looks somewhat more advanced than the NES. The Genesis/Mega Drive was SEGA's 16-bit system. You can see the jump in technology quite clearly between the Sega Master System and the Genesis.

  • @Overhazard Oh sorry!

  • And coming soon...MONOPOLY!

  • There's also the bag of money, the shoe, and the one they are probably showing, the horse and rider, which is supposed to be a jockey, I don't know why he's a cowboy in the commercial.

  • @michkid251 There was a big of money? I remember the shoe though.

The only horse playing pieces I've ever seen were part of the horse piece set I saw a few months ago at toy stores. There was a jockey as well?

  • @Overhazard No, there was a jockey riding a horse.

  • you know this didn't came out in portugal!

  • Ah yes, the Master System. Wasn't a bad console by any stretch of the imagination, but its just that the NES pretty much crushed it in every category.

  • Sega Master System!

Because YOU didn't wanna buy the SNES!

  • @LuigiFan1996 The Sega Master System came about at the same time as the NES, actually.

It flopped in Japan and North America, but it sold wonderfully in South America. Outside of that continent, the Sega Master System lived on as the Game Gear, which WAS a success.

  • @LuigiFan1996 That'd be the Genesis.

  • @MV934 No I mean you'd buy this because you didn't already buy the SNES.

  • @LuigiFan1996 MV934 and Overhazard are right, this is the Master System, an 8-bit console...the equivalent of an NES, but not something that got a lot of exposure here, so it's entirely reasonable to fail to remember it specifically.

The Mega Drive, better known as the Sega Genesis in the West, was a 16-bit console like the SNES, and that's what you're probably thinking of.

Incidentally, the NES predates the Master System by a couple of years, but the Genesis came out a couple before the SNES.

  • @YuuGiJoou

    NES - Introduced October 18, 1985

Master System - Introduced October 1986

    Genesis - Introduced August 14, 1989

    SNES - Introduced August 13, 1991

    Almost exactly 2 years (:

  • Cool! Yeah, it's too bad for Sega that they're console market collapsed, but at least that allows Sonic games to come out on a variety of systems though.

  • Ooh, Monopoly will "blow your mind".

    XD
