  • Never put the zip ties on, they look hideous and aren't needed.

It's a good idea to but the heat shrink as close to the connector as reasonably possible.

You can usually use a hairdryer on the heat shrink instead of a lighter. It may take a few moments longer, but it's a lot easier and safer.

Don't put the sleeving into the lighters flame. Placing it near the flame will melt it and avoid ugly burns.

  • The lighter is gonna burn your sleeving. Just get a heat gun, they are at most $25. Also BitFenix has some excellent single sleeve cables, although they don't come in the colors I'm looking for generally. SS is the way to go.

  • I prefer to do each individual cable, it looks alot more professional. This though a good way to learn still looks like a 12 year old kid did it LOL.

  • I always half-ass mine and stretch them over the plastic tips.. Ive gotten good at it though. I have removed a few tips but find it not worth the hassle in most cases (the mobo power for example would take way to long and be risky to do this method to.

  • Always run sleeved and tucked wires.

  • or you could just buy one thats pre sleeved..

  • @koolBOY8323 not all of us like black sleeves...
