I tell all my newbie friends to go with Mint before Ubuntu or Xubuntu. The only reason I made the switch was because Felicia had serious issues with Virtual Box. However Felicia handled my wifi a lot better but I needed the VM for work :(
Also, I liked the Mint's take on the add.remove programs feature... although very similar, its not. I heard Mint made an XFCE, i might try that one out on my laptop.
You have to disable nautilus (desktop stuff like icons), and use any type of wallpaper program you want. I missed my icons so I switched back to cube. lol.
So what really is the difference between Linux Mint and Ubuntu?

I love Linux mint alot better than Ubuntu even though its based on it but still they made it better :)

Yeah, I'm a fan of Debian. I might set it up so I can boot into KDE and Gnome whenever I want, and may put a video up of it.

what did you have four different pictures in the background and then just use cube to make it like a circle. that was neat.
