There is a reason that there are 35000 + protestant denominations, and that is flawed. I heard this song at Tucson Youthfest yesterday, and I almost cried, because this is my song! This past year, Jesus has come into my life after years of me avoiding Him. And I have fallen utterly in love with Him, even though my health is failing and I've lost many dreams and many things that I've cared for deeply. But I know that God has brought me back to life, and He will always take care of me. :)

There are plenty of artists whose songs speak directly to Christians, but when an artist is technically secular and has such a strong faith that it leaks into their music, that kind of music reaches people in a secular world. How could you frown upon that?

i just got back from a 3 day retreat for church and i was so empty inside before it. i was depressed all the time and i didnt know why but now i feel gods love and i found my love for him.

matt being catholic has no meaning if he has placed his faith totally in the blood of Jesus for the salvation. the problem with some catholics is that they trust their church and mary to get to heaven. they trust in their works. works do not save. only faith, faith alone in christ saves.
@vanmoody actually, no, we do not worship Mary and we know that just because you believe in God or are a Catholic, doesn't mean you're going to Heaven. Yes we believe in works, however, not to the extent that you're implying.. Catholics certainly don't believe that their good works automatically puts one in Heaven. We believe that faith in God almost requires you to go do good in His world. I'm running out of room here, but if you want to have a talk about Theology, let me know.
@littlearrows1 I didn't mention worship with Mary, but you will agree with me that some catholic theologians have called her the co redemptrix of the universe? Protestants who take God's Word seriously understand that Works have no place in one's personal salvation. Paul says in Romans 3:24 that we are justified apart from works. To be justified is to be declared righteous by God because of our faith in Christ's death on the Cross for the forgiveness of sin. I am running out of room too.

@blopajmbar62 A lot of these artist are given the "Christian Artist" title by society, not by their own preference. There are plenty of artists whose songs speak directly to Christians, but when an artist is technically secular and has such a strong faith that it leaks into their music, that kind of music reaches people in a secular world. How could you frown upon that?

@blopajmbar62 names plz? there are some who dont mention Jesus but the song is about morals and asking questions about christian actions of today such as "What Have We Become" by DC Talk, most of the song is asking what has the world become and why are we allowing it to happen and flurish. i agree that many may not have God or Jesus as part of the lyrics and in some not all cases there is no need of it.

They used this song at Steubenville last year 2010, and it just shows you how much God loves us and how you can live a good life even if you have sinned by going to confession and confessing all of your sins. God is everywhere and always will be. Matt Maher is the Kind of Christian that is trying to make a difference in the World, and he isnt only trying.....he is succeeding.

I first heard the song in the hospital,taking care of my daughter,who had lung,brain and bone cancer.She was asking for this song as she awaken,suffering through the pain of brain surgery.Prior to the cancer she had seen Matt Maher concert in North Carolina and was touch. This song has also touch our family. What great words to hear when your in pain and believe in Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks Matt I am Alive Again, This CD is in my car on the early commute and builds me up to take on another day. matt being catholic has no meaning if he has placed his faith totally in the blood of Jesus for the salvation. the problem with some catholics is that they trust their church and mary to get to heaven. they trust in their works. works do not save. only faith, faith alone in christ saves.

@vanmoody actually, no, we do not worship Mary and we know that just because you believe in God or are a Catholic, doesn't mean you're going to Heaven. Yes we believe in works, however, not to the extent that you're implying.. Catholics certainly don't believe that their good works automatically puts one in Heaven. We believe that faith in God almost requires you to go do good in His world. I'm running out of room here, but if you want to have a talk about Theology, let me know.

@littlearrows1 I didn't mention worship with Mary, but you will agree with me that some catholic theologians have called her the co redemptrix of the universe? Protestants who take God's Word seriously understand that Works have no place in one's personal salvation. Paul says in Romans 3:24 that we are justified apart from works. To be justified is to be declared righteous by God because of our faith in Christ's death on the Cross for the forgiveness of sin. I am running out of room too.

He also comes to my church when he is in town and he is one of the holiest men I have ever met. I have no idea where you are getting your information but please do some research before you accuse Catholics of being Satan Worshippers

Second, Martin Lurther, the reformer did not desire to be different than Catholicism, he reformed because he felt that the Catholic Church had strayed. He still believed in many things that the Catholics still hold to today, such as transubstantiation.
