Not at all, unless the player isn't skilled enough to get a kill any other way. Wall tailing is the closest to a ranged attack the alien has; it's a good tactic if they are low on health and it's the only way to score a kill against an enemy; not to mention you can take out multiple targets who are standing stupidly close to the wall. If you think about it, the predators and marines both have long range weapons while the alien has to get up close and personal to get a kill.

@Shugar2006 True, but what about eg. the pyramid stage? There are tons of small ways and quick turns with most alien players staying in "the basement" waiting for marines to come down with no chance to defend themselves.

Besides, the marines only have those small shitty flashlights that does no good anyways :P

@Parklout That map is an alien map, no doubt. My suggestion for all the marines and predator players? Just don't go in the basement! I was in a match where they just kept going down there and got owned repeatedly in the ass. :p The marine's flashlights aren't that bad actually. Without them, it's almost impossible to see in some areas of the pyramid.

@Parklout You have a point there.. the thing is, once the aliens realize no one is coming down into the basement, they'll go out. At least, that's what I do. I'm not always down in the basement anyway since it gets boring going 'round and 'round. xD

I hate Predator Hunt, lmao. It's soo boring and you can hardly get any kills as the predator 'cause the marines are usually up each other's asses basically.

I hated the multiplayer on this. I loved playing alien but the trouble is that the game glitches when you wanto execute. I executed atleast 5 times and all of them failed when I was exactly right behind the opponent. The aliens tail is glitched too because it has about 20 yards more range then the pred so you can simply spam it while not taking hits. The preds weaponry is simply one hit knock out and very unfair for marines. Marines are the only race I think are balanced enough.

Thanks for the crosshair thingy. I ddin't know about WHEn you can jump on wall or not. You could also put that you can jump on enemies and when they are falling on the ground you can finish them by grabbing. That';s my tactic ;).

The game totaly fails to juge or your in the dark or licht, i was haning richt beside a lamp and everybody coude see me (and thay did) but the cursor said i was in the dark (WTF?)

You should also note that while sprinting you will not show up on a marine's motion tracker so if you sprint then suddenly stop and sprint again your practically invisible.

Ok, I see so many people saying that this game sucks, others say it's good. So if anyone can help, tell me why I should buy this game. I really want to cause I'm a huge alien fan, but people say that the multiplayer is fucked up so I don't want to waste 50euros. Please reply :)

@Convict147 Its an awesome game, Its fun because of the melee. Light attack can be blocked, But block can be broken by heavy attack. Heavy attack can be blocked from light. After you block a light attack, Quickly light attack and defend. Its called counter, It usually knocks them on thier ass. If so, beat them till they dont get back up..

this game s tbest but i have one thing o say wht i dont like on the game but i think that they are fixing it you have to wait long for host and stuff like that but with the new map pack there are dedicated serves (i heard) so we dont need to wait and lagg like that *-* and i dont know but ....are there no more avp players like 2000 or ? : O cause i saw in 4 games everytime the same players :( whats with that we ned mrore players! ok i dont know what it is but when i played as alien i got a long fight with a predator (i killed him :( ) but when we was fighting the alien maked a noise and opened it mouth(no finisher no stealth kill) i think its a bite attack or something but i am not sure i dont know how to use it or when it appears but i found it o.o the aliens ope its mouth and then you have to press something but i dont know what to do there :o someone got expierence with that alien bite? or stuff like that :o

On the other hand there IS a way to knock down marines when u jump them but I not sure how atm. I did it in a game a few hours ago,that marine was sprinting right at the moment I jumped him ( I was not in the dark ) and he was knocked down.

Wheter him sprinting is the key, or low hp maybe, I dont know yet,but I´ll give it some further testing and hopefully I´ll find out

Well, being in darkness helps you see through walls, so smashing lights puts you in darkness. Making you harder to see, but them easier to see.

After watching this vid, I understand a lot better the overall design of the Alien in the game. But i really think that the alien species is kinda unbalanced againts the others. They should have added 1 or 2 "power ups" to the aliens. Like a "Acid Spit" power up, or a "Face Hugger Egg" power up (like a proximity mine, errr ¬¬ the predators have one)

When/if you team up with the other aliens, use the screaming as a way to tell the others when you find the food.

They can hear you from across most of the map and will come running to help you eat the enemies.

Another golden rule is not to run around at ground level all the time, try to stay on ceilings.

Also when you take out the lights, are they out permanently? Or do they come back on after a period of time?

Still trying to get my head around the counter-attack combat system. Its a pretty cool feature imo.

@dickjpaige I think it is to show you how far away something is. Just by watching the video it shows that its really big when something is close and much smaller when its far away.
