allah humma salle ala muhammad wa aale muhammad. this is another wasilah because allah swt says the angels read darood i read darood so you (us human beings) also read darood. when we read it they angels are reading it, allah swt is reading. allah swt doesn't do anything else that he tells us to do. he doesn't read namaz, pay zakat, keep fasts. this is the fazilat of the darood paak mashallah,

2) why do we pray to him. he is our wasilah, there is no reaching allah direct. how can we possibly reach allah swt direct only those that are masoom (14 infallables) can reach allah swt direct. we must seek a wasilah for e.g. reading namaz is a wasilah, we are in communication with allah but through the actions of namaz this is our wasilah. now when we do dua we seek a wasilah in order for our duas to be accepted i.e. as an intercession to reach allah swt. we not capable of reaching allah alone

Salam brother. 2 things mashallah good that you mentioned them

1) why do we shia's hit ourselves, or do maatam as it is called. why do we do zulm. truth is that qu'ran is witness that one of our nabi's has done zulm to themselves. lets take the story of hazrat yaqoob, he knew that really his son hazrat yousuf was alive so why did he cry and bring his health to a state that he was temporarily blind. was this not zulm. the nabi knew his son was not dead he is a nabi how is it possible he dsnt knw

MashaAllah, that was amazing. That was one of the most emotional lectures I've ever heard. And I didn't know most of that, Subhan Allah though, what a beautiful way to become Shaheed what a blessing for Imam Hussain! alayhi salam. I will continue to learn more. I think you shia take it too far though, how do you honor him by hitting yourselves? like at the end you start chanting "hussain hussain" then slap yourselves... I now greatly respect Hussain but will never pray to him or hit myself
