Dell XPS M140 has a recovery option that was accessible during initial boot up simply by pressing CTRL F11. IDK what you did but if you installed a fresh copy using your own disc then you lost the recovery part of that laptop. You would never had to do this if you knew all that first.
What will i do? lets see what that dell sisc does? oh dear this is the disk i wanted.... if your going to make a video about fixing a pc learn what your doing..... geez
alwaysmc2, which wireless diriver did u used? cause i don't have the install Cd, so i have to download the driver online from dell, but, there are so many different wirless driver for xps M140, i don't know which to pick
my dell xps crashes alot because it gets really hot at the top and then it dont start right also ive had this for a few months and its broke twice i wouldnt recomend this computer
I had a virus on my E1705 earlier and faced the same problems, whereas Dell support, Wireless, and Quickset would not show in the tray upon startup, and I had to load it all by going to Dell's website and downloading all the drivers again, then everything was normal, only thing is, Dell did not send me the restore disc or windows.
can you guys help me well my computer is messed up well i log into my account hen only my wallpaper shows up so what do i do and no control esc doesn't work some with the flag and running explorer and my taskbar and icons arn't there
nah i fixed it you know when i was in regedit i was trying to change start to the word black instead of start and well instead of typing explorer.exe i typed expolrer4.exe so it screwed it all up. but thanks anyway
yup others are working, and I deleted the cache in firefox still nothing. Tried IE7 and Netscape and it didn't work. I'll check back in a few days to see if I can get it.

try ctrl+alt+del, and in applications, in start new task try typing in explorer.exe and it should come up.

Step 1 - Install drivers using the drivers disk or look up drivers on dell support.
Step 2 - Windows Updates.

yup others are working, and I deleted the cache in firefox still nothing. Tried IE7 and Netscape and it didn't work. I'll check back in a few days to see if I can get it.
