  • this is musik of extreme comprehension. it is the well deserved brake after listening for years to metal, like deathmetal,blackmetal,powermetal,metalmetal,numetal,progressivemetal,cleanmetal,growlmetal,posthardcoredjentdeathambienttrytomakemoresenseoutofmorecoolwordstogetignorantlistenersmetal..... ambient is ...... as necessary as ......sleeping ....or ultimatly perish.............life...vs...death....Beauty. and the beast... mandatory for the most complete sense of understanding of existense

  • @morjhult666 Could not agree more!

  • the one from the dark ambient in particular :)

  • where did you get those pictures in the vid? could you send ten to me?

  • aww wow thankies for letting us know about the different styles :D i love this type of music :D

  • I have always been wandering what this kind of music i called, and just now i have found out: dark ambient. Creepy and scary - I must be mental, but that is so cool!

  • great!

  • Holy fuk, that was the most epic slideshow I've seen.

  • wow...perfect sounds for resistance

  • different ambient genres match with each other situational pictures...

    great labor ...

  • This type of music is really quite amazing as an audio-visual experience, especially with mere still shots as done in this video, as long as the two things complement each other, though I don't think the audio by itself would ever be able to hold my attention or interest me, whereas you might catch me flipping through pics or photos of a lot of the images shown.

  • Dark ambient fucks the hell out of you on acid ...

  • @satysang Try going to sleep to it, it takes on a whole new level darkness.

  • 2:15 reminds me of Quake... very eerie stuff. You have some real skill with audio landscapes.

  • Very well done, I like it because of this suspence, kinda creapy atmosphere ! The music perfomers are new to me ... this may sound stupid but it's so ! I'm not that familiair with every kind of music nowadays ! Anyway, keep on doing this stuff ... you're good !!!

    Greetzzzz

  • since 2:03 sounds pretty much like South East Asian funeral music, like Thailand's

  • Trippy Sounds & Great Pictures

  • come.dine.with.us

  • Daaaayum... I guess I could try experimenting some indutrial ambient sound... Love all the dark and spooky kind of ambients, big time. These videos are such an inspiration. Off to the studio ->

  • I watched the Blair Witch project earlier today, and I have to say that this video really made me feel dark, and scared, a lot more than that did. A very good assemblence of sound, and absolutely awesome pictures (loved the first ones!!)

  • @PatrioticGiraffe1

haha, you made my day man!

  • I've been reading about sub genres of electronic music and very glad you have done posted this video. I think I'm going to start programing some myself.

  • i am listening this kind of music all the time and there is nobody understand how awesome it is.

  • this is so fucking creepy and scary, but I love it!!

  • I am normally a positive kind of person so I think my interest in this underlines the fact that you don't have to be "different" to enjoy good music when you hear it.

  • I love this music, but why are all the videos swamped with comments by emotards who can't spell?

  • Wow! Niiiice work! This music just makes you sink down into the couch as the minuttes becomes millenias. And that you educate the public on the different styles that existst is simply awesome. Cannot wait to check out part 2! :-)

  • @TransparentVelvet thank you for watching.... I'm glad you enjoy the videos...

  • Hey, upon my path of self-discovery today, I learn I'm into dark ambient.

  • :55 .......

  • well-chosen photographs, really beautiful

  • /watch?v=8DZ8Qtd0Yes

Some lo-fi, even creepier dark ambient!

  • overrated? It's the most underrated genres, ever, man. It's good to listen to it when I am reading japanese horror comics and horror novels. Or, scare the shit out of yourself.

  • Медленней, мягче, тише и глубже.

    Тьма обнимает, заполняя уши.

    Холодно, больно, дыхание сперло.

    Звук пустоты - поглощение крика

  • Beautiful,spooky,mysterious,magical,creepy.3 words...I love it ♥

  • i never gonna mix watch this video stoned again...

  • Woah! These pictures by the clinical ambient together with the music is damn inspiring :P

  • psylocibine + dark ambient = end up in madhouse

  • dark ambient - path towards other dimensions

  • where did you got those pictures?

  • Only the fact that you translated this music into pictures so well, makes you the best! Especially the part in 2:37 hits me hard dude! respect

  • this music touches you're dark side, some would say thats depressing. But it's somewhat soothing. but tbh scientifically these minor sounds are linked to distress sound signals from primitive times, which intune are linked to fear (flee) and death, which is actually depressing. I prefer the other happier side linked to survival which stimulates the pleasure and happy centre :3

If you are going to listen to this music i'd suggest you do it every now and then, definately not often lol.

  • Yep. Totally Metalcopyase (sp) background music. A cartoon on adult swim. It's funny. Metalheads will like it. I don't like metal though.

  • fabulous... deep... idk how to tell that i was stunned for 9.25 min.

  • The clinical ambient was... :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

cant describe it any other way

  • This type of music is great for reading to, or listening to while fiction writing. It's not too loud and obnoxious, and it's very atmospheric. It helps me get into the right setting when I write.

  • The clinic ambient is propably the scariest, atleast the doctor at 7:21. In a hospital you think you are safe.

  • @Imahdum666 You feel safe in a place where people cut other people open for a living, taking out their organs and putting them into someone else, shock them with electricity and drilling holes in their skulls to keep them alive and you say a little music is scarier? Wow, that's a nice mentality.

  • @alitzuu I hope you're kidding.

  • @Imahdum666 its the scariest place you feel safe in...death everywhere...blood and gut covered knives...people cutting you open...they have every mean to kill you at any time and you will never suspect a thing

  • Its really amazing how much music can toy with your emotions. You can be listening to some rock and fell happy, or you could listing to this and feel, creeped out, strange, and possibly depressed. Just go to show music is more than just sound.

  • if you like dark ambient checkout the new "Sjelløs" Dark Ambient project.

  • Delìrium Còrdia by Fantômas.... Nuff, said!!!

  • I love it. I have a Dark Ambient song coming to YouTube in just a few minutes. "Welcome to Deadside" inspired by Shadowman one of the most creepiest games ever with the best Dark Ambient background music ever.

  • i hope Silent Hill Downpour has music like this

  • Great choice of pics! The music gives me chills, nice stuff..

  • part starting at 3:32 reminds me of the game called Portal

  • @Smokeekun agreed

  • Why does this remind me of 'Amnesia: The Dark Decent' :o

  • 2:03 perfect.

  • Oh...I like it! °w°

  • mm my body is a temple and my mind is a mess

  • Phenomenal imagery.

  • Who can undestand this.. can undestand the pain, the sadness and all bizarre senses, tetric and beauty.

  • I listenend to the third song with my eyes closed. It was really like walking through a dark hospital hallway with horrible, yet unknown things happening after the doors.

  • Too bad there aren't that many actually scary games with noise ambient, the broken factories just make my imagination running.

  • it's melancholic, it's scary, it's mysterious. It gives me thrills and strong emotions, and that's why I like it. I'd love to find more of such music

  • man, i love it ! - explore urself.

  • 7:19 is such a freaky picture, gives me the chills

  • this makes me creep out O_O

  • magic

  • Awesome, love the atmosphere and the pictures in this video.

  • nice track to sleep with

  • I love writing little horror stories whilst listening to this. It gets you in the perfect mindset.

  • @edwinvonlumperfoot I demand that you post them good sir. We would be glad to have something to read to this awesome sound!

  • @edwinvonlumperfoot Yep, but this ... sound... It's more than just horror.

  • dude this music made me scared

  • hi beatsystem"s new cd on entropy france "the sound of two eskimos kissing"

  • wow, i was really edgy at the start with the foggy forests

  • hey what are those ruins called at 1:39?

  • For me, like an neofit, i got greatness range of feelings from this video. Now i have base for constructing my knowledge of dark ambient styles. Thanks to author.

  • the image that appears at around 2:46.. i like it very much. what is it from?

  • sick pictures

  • thank you so much for sharing this with us. I'm creating some art based on Lovcecraft stories, and this music is very inspiring. Thank you again! :)

  • ye good pic choices, kudos.

lol i see what others are saying, this is quite paradoxical in that it's half frightening half chilling, like some sort of anxious buddhist chanting.argh fucking screeches. time to turn off! forget the chilling part it is just anxiety inducing...peace :)

  • It's evocative music, good to know new menthal state, but since I am easily suggestible by music I say it isn't my style.

  • I-I'm scared... Kyaa! W-What was that! W-wahhh i-i d-don't want to play anymore

  • Ambient music reminds me very much of a landscape chinese watercolor painting. So atmospheric, flowy, and slightly ethereal just like a watercoor painting of dark misty mountain with black caves at night and the moon is out and it reflects in the lake at the bottom of the mountains.

Ok maybe I didn't make sense but yeah, ambient music = art

  • Haha! You had a picture from Silent Hill! The second one I believe.

  • "clinical ambiant" xDDDD I have laught =D

  • Well done. This is good to listen to while reading (reading the right sort of book, of course).

  • Thank you for making this video! It was equal parts helpful, relaxing, haunting, emotionally powerful, informative, and eerie.

  • There are certain artist that produce great music in Dark Ambient. Then there are some artists who are out there on there own. The scene or event in music is not to be subsidized by the gov't as in some countries but to listen to music and if you like it, you buy it.

  • i guess many people dont like it because they never saw the beauty of the darkness and emptyness cuz they fear it

  • @xXGHETTOkingXx I'm sure that's one way to put it. People usually have very narrow views of what constitutes the "beautiful" IMHO, music and images like this are every bit as beautiful as anything else.

  • @aperionproject

....in other words, "beauty" is relative.... this music is interesting and beatiful, but in a strange way... thats all...

  • @xXGHETTOkingXx

    nothing but the truth ...!

  • @minimalista242

LMFAO since when is dark ambient music overrated?? i still havent even come across another person that likes this shit. its beautiful noise, its about ambience, you like it or you dont but there is no way this shits overated

  • Ambience has always completely divided me. I absolutely love the spacey, atmospheric ambience. I love the dark ambient music with all the random noices, wind blowing, random chords etc. But its the complete opposite with these other sub-genres, clinical ambience and death ambient or something, is terrifying. Those completely out of tune strings and the random screams and voices. No for me.

  • Can't believe there is not a single video on youtube of Weather Report - Milky Way, 1971. For me thats where Ambient music started. First and best ambient song.

  • Absolutely awesome.

  • 8:15 damn.

  • love this so mUCH

  • Fear the pipes!

  • Ugh, this is gorgeous. I love it.

  • Disturbing..... Not only were the pictures and music disturbing but the two put together made it much more horrific. It's difficult to explain.... it wasn't necesarily SCARRING, but all I can think to say right now is that this was a frightening experience..

  • Something about that resting woman that's all stitched up turns me on for some reason. Is there something badly wrong with me?

  • does anybody else get the chills when they listen to that? I think it's creepier than an asian horror movie!

  • Awesome. I had no idea this genre was so vast.

  • Pretty damn good marriage of sounds and images. Well done you.

  • @minimalista242

Sadly..it is. Many people find this music really boring and senseless...I guess our brain works in a different way..

  • @unknownmathew22 I find the hauntingly simplistic and droning sounds relaxing. I personally consider this way better to rap or the modern pop craze because you are setting a mood with the music. You are conveying way more than any Lady Gaga or Justin Beiber does in their music.

  • @unknownmathew22 i thinks this is an awesome genre. i listen a lot of music genres, and often i prefer ambient and dark ambient instead of more technical genres

  • music is justin beiber telling me to shake my tookus while i empty my bank account.

  • @unknownmathew22 Well, I'm a desensitized misanthrope for the most part.

  • This is very good. The problem is that some people want to enjoy it as /music/, and therefore can't appreciate it. It isn't music, even if it is sometimes called 'music', and shouldn't be enjoyed as music.

  • @Bregowald

Maybe your definition of music is too narrow then?

  • @unknownmathew22 Probably we have better brains :)

  • @unknownmathew22 those people have no tastes in music because they're morons, but i appreciate this.

  • @unknownmathew22 is very sensistive, is like another part of our world. like this place is about to explote in each moment. is terrific! :D

  • @unknownmathew22 this is like movie music! spooky!!! love it

  • I've seen it all. I can't believe I managed to do that after previously watching 6 minutes of Death Ambient, but I did and I'm impressed. You're choice of pictures seemed to fit very well with each genre. Thank you.

I have a question, though. You(plural) listen to this out of pleasure/ because you like it/ because you find it relaxing?

Actually, relaxing it is, a little, but my heart was beating like hell...

  • @alitzuu

Thank you for your kind words. About your question, in my case...both of them, plus many other reasons. Some projects help me to concentrate, others to travel over dreams and nightmares, others to visit lost corners of your mind...most of them just to add some soundscape to your bizarre imagination.

  • @alitzuu I actually listen to it when I want to just create landscapes in my mind when I close my eyes (it also is amazing when you're high). I also just like to have it playing (like stillstream, an ambient radio website) when I'm doing nothing just to add some noise into just hanging around.

  • @alitzuu

I prepare for my exams listening to this kind of music. its a secret and effective way to enhance concentration

  • @alitzuu In my case this usually helps me discover my nightmares and my shady areas, where I usually don't go.

  • What's the picture at 2:11?

  • watch?v=RpIjrJRuU2U

  • great pictures.. i actually find this really relaxing. It helps me learn faster :D

  • Can you tell me where you found some of the pictures? in particular the landscape shots that were in the first half of the video.

  • i love satan he is my symbol of life he isn't bad as most christains think he is freedom liberty rebellious anarchy lust and vengenace sex human nature all hail the unholy flames for i will be hes loyal servant for eternity hesfaallen angel may all perish and die an thousands deaths who comes between us!

  • Nice work

  • I always liked these kinds of sounds. Now I know the name of it.

  • First track sounds like a demonic Outworld

  • Comment removed

  • i favourite that and watch it when im high

  • Sounds like death cube k'.

  • @dannyhood66 That's because DCK is dark ambient.

  • superb!

  • 6:33 wow those are my initials

  • where you get that pictures? can you share some pictures with me?

  • fuck man i hate eyes

  • Am I hearing trololo in the clinical ambient? :[

  • I don't know if anyone else sees this, but at 1:42 there is a face which appears to be in the shape of a moon in the middle of the right side of the picture.

  • Comment removed

  • What program do you use to make this kind of music?

  • I know someone who isn't gonna sleep tonight. Great. ... >.<

  • I haven't seen anything darker in my life than the last part of this vid. Damn

  • Really well done. Tense, yet almost meditative.

This kind of music is harder to create than people realize. Slide show fit too.

  • how soothing love images are great

  • really good - inspired me to make some of my own ambient, feel free to comment on it ppl :D

  • great

  • Little tip - Don't listen to that last song at
