  • The book is full color, not b&w, Otherwise, great review!

  • Simon: great game! Dave: great review! Thank you both. :0). Now, about that lovely chart ...

  • @DeepEndOfTheDicePool

I don't know if I'd call it "lovely", but Beyond Belief Games now has a website, and Simon is hosting htat table, so you can download it from there: beyondbeliefgames.webs.com/

  • @DBezio Got it. Thanks!

  • I hear that the edition on DriveThru right now has the supplement in it. I have the original Supers! san supplement, so what does the supplement add?

  • @smartrocker14 Not sure of the specifics, but there is a mini-setting, some rules clarifications, more NPC write-ups, and probably a few more powers and such.

  • @smartrocker14 - Hi, you should be able to re-download the updated version from DriveThru - check your DriveThru account history

  • @smartrocker14 - Hi - Everyone who bought the pdf from DriveThru got a free upgrade - check your account history at DriveThru

  • Hi David,

    Nice review.

I bought the game just after having watched it.

BTW, how can I find the damage chart you showed in your video.

I saw the website adress, but can't get access to the chart.

Do I have to register on your blog to get it?

    Thanx for your reply.

    Pat

  • @expressnova try this greyarea.webs.com/SUPERS%20damage%20charts.pdf (just cut and paste it in your browser). For some reason the PDF looks a little "fuzzy" but it prints up clean.

  • @DBezio neat! Thanx a lot. That's very helpful. You rule! Cheers.

  • @expressnova Hmmm...webs must be having some problems. The link worked a few days ago...but now my anti-virus says it's possibly infected? So stay away, I'll see if I can get it posted elsewhere.

  • @DBezio Hi! Your link worked perfectly well for me. No virus detected. Thanx for the sharing.

  • My only real complaint comes from my response to both WEG's D6 system and Risus over the years. d6 die pools do not scale well with abilities. Really, it's a problem with most die pools. Either 3d is ridiculously superior to 2d or 3d is barely noticeably different from 2d. Heck, oWoD had this problem twice: once at the 2-3d gap and again at the 7d-8d gap. Using a Risk mechanic (Sorcerer) is the only way to do die pools, IMHO.

  • @azirk83 Oh course in a game emulating super hero comics...all heroes aren't created equil :) So "balance" is only an issue from a gamers perspective. I mean, in the comics, does Batmans strenght match up to Supermans? Fortunately Batman has other skills to fall back on that are proprtionately equil to Supermans strenght.

  • It's good to see you are doing YouTube reviews again. :) Simon is a great guy. We bounced emails back and forth over the Big Lake about BOL over the years.

  • I'm curious what prevents someone from always using their best stat. In your example, why would Firestar ever use her 2D reaction stat instead of her 4D fire power?

  • @Hedgehobbit I mentioned it in the little text bits that flash across the bottom, but I wish I had said it as well. You can only use an ability (Resistance, Aptitude, or Power) once per round. So if you use your best ability to attack or defend, then you can’t use it later to attack or defend. It makes choices in combat interesting as you have to decide if you want to suck-up a punch and save your best to attack.

  • @Hedgehobbit ...It also provides a level of tactics when it comes to choosing who to attack, whether to team up, ect.

  • Very nice!

A new use for my Ipad

I cant wait until you review Dicey Tales #1!

  • Awesome review! :D
