@lakeeriejew yes your right about the noise, airbus makes terrible noise, im european by the way but here in holland we say, aint it a boing...we are not going
@lekkerereet considering Boeing statistically has more mechanical failures per plance produced... enjoy. You little Boeing fanboy. Also: terrible noise? What a load of bullshit...
why are the smoothest landings always in a airbus a330? like i always see perfect landings with them. type in youtube -> smoothest landing. the 1st video... :O
The A380 takes-off on a far shorter runway than the 747. When the 747 is at the closest distance from the camera (1:26), it's still on the runway, while when the A380 gets there, it's already up in the air (5:07).
If this is Sydney I am hoping to get out there in about 8 and a half months time with my father, as next year we both celebrate our 70th and 30th birthdays within a month of each other, the best thing of it all is we do not need a hotel, as he has family out in the blue mountains region of Sydney, we live around gatwick, does anyone know who would be the best to fly with, I have heard good reviews about Emirates, my dad does not know yet.
@jamesfish18 Emirates is very very good but you want cheap and good which is hard to get. You really just need to do a search on a flight site that compares deals to get the best deal. I use bestflights com au. Blue mountains isn't bad but its a good way out of the city if you want to see other things. Virgin Australia is a big domestic airline in australia, maybe you could do a deal with Virgin atlantic/ Virgin Australia to get here?
The Qantas 747 takeoff, wow! I love how all four engines seem to have a little growl in the way they sound, makes it look more aggressive and powerful :)
anyone know why some brake flaps goes up after the others like some type of delay? Is it because it is still frozen or was it purposely done that way.
@10newsrox It was my brother talking in my ear observing the plane movements. I can't remember exactly what he was saying though, it was over 3 years ago!
@joaofbi4321 Yeah the 757 is nice too. I had a choice between flying on a 737 or a 757 two years ago but I picked the 757 even though it was $4 more and 1/2 hour later.
Man for being so big the A380 is VERY quite!!!! The 747 is much louder then it!!!! Kinda weird!!!! A plane that big should make A LOT more noise then it does!!!! Look at Concorde
@dcccapfan Yes but the Boeing 747-400 was built before the A380 back in 1988 so you can't really compare the noise of a modern aircraft with an old one and Boeing released the 747-8 which is modern and quiet.
@painatal360 No it just proves it's newer and that engines have developed in the last 20 years since the latest revision of the 747. The 747-800 will have similar performance to the A380 with it's revised RR turbofans.
@kaeleon1111 I understand that the A380 has a high lift wing, so A380 will take off (and land) at about the same speed as the much smaller A320 aircraft of about 130knts.
@kaeleon1111 This was an 'unusual' rotation for the A380. I think something to do with the works being carried out on the runway's edge (the ATC alerts them to that before giving takeoff clearance). Most A380 takeoff's use much more runway.
@bigneg95 Incorrect. appending "Heavy" to an aircraft is not a weight classification as you say, it is a measure of wake turbulance the aircraft produces due to its weight (over 140,000kg)
@10Kingboy10 because of the same reason as Airbuses are called Nintendo jets, they are 90% computers or something. The difference btw an Airbus and Boeing is the same as the difference btw a Ferrari and a Toyota
@SRQKEF what and dreamliner has no computer aided flight? at least airbus can build an electronic distribution panel without starting a fire. maybe the experience in building planes this way for 15 years is what got QF32 back to singapore when a turbine failure tore through 6 or so major systems (and about 50k hours on the flight deck :) ). cables and pushrods are gone sorry!!
just look at the boeing 747, which arose later than the A380,and with less speed. That is because the turbines of the A380, are much more powerful than the 747.
This is further proof that the A380 is much better!!
@Painatal360 you dont really know that. How can you tell, you dont know the weight of both aircraft, for all we know the A380 could have been half full.
@Painatal360 What do you mean 'arose later'? The 747 was built waaaayyy before the A380. @underPSI It does a little actually, since wake turbulence categories are assigned according to max certified take off weight of an airplane. The heavier the plane, the more significant the wake turbulence.

@bigneg95 Since the weight classification designation is based on MTOW, all 747's would b classified as "Heavy" since it's above 300000lbs (Used to be 255000+lbs) Aircraft in the Heavy class would include the 747, 767, 777, A310, A330, A340, DC-10 and MD-11. @bigneg95 Incorrect. appending "Heavy" to an aircraft is not a weight classification as you say, it is a measure of wake turbulance the aircraft produces due to its weight (over 140,000kg)
markovicmitchell 1 year ago
@markovicmitchell Heavy is indeed a weight classification used primarily to determine wake turbulence separation minima.
0-41,000 lbs MTOW = Small
41,000-255,000 lbs MTOW = Large
255,000 lbs GTOW and up = Heavy (whether or not it's actually operating at that weight)
The only exception to this is the 757 as its wings generate significant wingtip vortices.
Source: FAA Order JO 7110.65 aka the ATC Bible
ICAO defines heavies as anything capable of GTOW greater than 300,000 pounds, I believe.

Qantas uses those beasts man....Those 380's just look so heavy.....I am wondering how much force they have to generate just to take off......!

@ejatmny08 There isn't one in the video - FlightLevel350 incorrectly labelled the title with A320, I think they meant A330 (which is featured in the video).
