I was in Newark in 1998...nothing has changed, crime was high then to, jobs were scarce, there were over 1,000 murders a year, factories and homes were abandoned or run down to 3rd World status. They have built projects over in that section and the problem has gone over there too. Crime has always happened there. The incidents just go unreported. I know Portuguese families that moved because of crime. People think the Ironbound section is heaven but at the end of the day...... it's still in Newark.

That said, my point was to say that people like to say it is the NATURE of blacks that results in crime and I said it is not NATURE as can be proven by slumbs in other parts of the world including places in asia.

@jamice10000 98% of the crime and murders in Newark are by BLACK people. I'm in Newark all the time and I know what the problem is. Single Mom's, teenagers all over the place with no parental direction, drugs on street corners, gangs. Over in the Iron Bound section where all the Portuguese and Brazilians are it's VERY different. Much less crime, nice apartments, nicer houses, people who actually take pride in the neighborhood. The proof is RIGHT there for you. The other guy is right.

@ralphspimp I live in Newark and in the past year I have seen more murders happen in the ironbound section than any other year. They have built projects over in that section and the problem has gone over there too. Crime has always happened there. The incidents just go unreported. I know Portuguese families that moved because of crime. People think the Ironbound section is heaven but at the end of the day...... it's still in Newark.

Move to Texas....it's booming, lot's of work in Indianapolis as well...I'm in construction, and just got a job offer in Cleveland Ohio. I know many people just can't pick up and move, but there is work out there if your willing to relocate.

I've driven in a train / cars past newark and have seen large empty warehouses filled with hundreds of black men all wearing the same bandana... no joke. newark is the real ghetto like no other. a friend of mine went to university there and they locked the gates up by 6pm and everyone had to be within campus by then. if you weren't they'd send out a shuttle to get you. even so, some of the nicest people i've met in the world are from there.. the place is surreal.

By the way, all of Newark does not look like this. In fact, a lot of well paid young professionals have moved to the city as a means of escaping New York City's exorbitant rent. This is the process I've mentioned.
Oprah's little bitch, Corey Booker, is 'changing' Newark as we speak, so don't worry. He's already looking to privatize public schools, and sanitation jobs are already being outsources.
