Lost am I in this world Of timelessness and woe Can I find the doorways Through which I must go Is the key to this plane Too much for me to try to gain Is the passport to this World my astral soul 7 signs rode on 7 stars 7 ways to find the long lost bards 7 days became 7 years While I've cast the spell that eternity chains No more to cry O' mortal soul The astral path is now your fortuitous role
warrior on the edge of time , after listening to it, sought out other Hawkwind albums, their live 2record set had this song on it . the lyrics stuck in my head
Oscar for me it was after space ritual, it took me many years to understand that they had evolved when I was, at that time, incapable of that evolution
best version is the live 'space ritual' album liverpool 1972..there are 2 lps the black & yellow cover dbl album is the fuckin tits...finished many a night trippin listenin to it..
@TOFFEEBLUE344 Agreed! I bought Silver Machine single way back in the 70's. I played the B side and it was Seven by Seven. It grabbed my teenaged brain, and I never played Silver Machine again for ages. At the the time I had a telescope and was into astronomy - and this was the soundtrack. :)
this is another later version of the original........any hawkwind fans should buy the original vinyl versions because after "spirit of the age" 1979 the band became a crock of shit

I agree, sort of. The Space Ritual version of this song is the definitive version.

I think they lost the plot after "LEVITATION" in 1980 with Ginger Baker.

Is that Lemmy on the lead vocals? I have got the 'In Search of Space' album and I am familiar with this song but I am not sure who is on the vocals.

Lemmy wasn't in Hawkwind when this album was recorded.

Yes, but in the "more info box", I wrote that it was on the CD Version of ISOS. Should have written this in the headline...
balchoth 3 years ago
this was actually the b-side to silver machine and never made it onto the original vinyl ISOS
