This is one of the best lsoh I've seen. They both have great voices it's amazing how much Lyndsey sounds like Ellen Green. It seems that Morgan has good jestures for the situation he doesn't just sit there like a bump like so many I've seen
Oh I have to play Audrey in our Musical and I want to do her character justice, but on the other hand I've been told to speak louder which is very difficult when her voice is so high pitched yet sweet.
@XxMadAsRabbitsxX You know, Audrey's voice doesn't have to be as high pitched as you might think! I'm auditioning for the part in Feb, and I have developed my Audrey a bit differently as my voice is a bit lower speaking-wise. As long as it's sincere and sweet it'll still be Audrey-esque; don't put Audrey in a box, develop who YOU want YOUR Audrey to be!
Haha, I'm going the exact same. :) It IS hard to get the tenderness and still be loud enough to hear. But the more I get into character, the easier it is. The best of luck to you! Break a leg :))
i love this song so much its so touching and adorable seymour is such a sweet heart i can really relate to this song i actually like the fact that she isnt belting because it makes the song idk more soft and that way a lil more touching and sad
What a sweet, adorable Audrey! That's exactly how the script notes require her to be played, and it's what we aimed for in our amateur production at Grove Park Theatre. Great Seymour, too.
To 00columbia00, Audrey was tall in the movie, too, and ours was much smaller. I don't think it matters, as long as that poignant vulnerable sweetness is there, with a touch of (unjustified) inferiority complex.
See my channel for some (early) rehearsal clips and a slideshow of our production.
exercellent im doing this at my school and im audrey but im like twice the size of our seymour in height!!!! can you tell me is she wearing a wig???? i don't knnow weva to wear one or not like that coz i dnt want to copy the film :S
in my opinion so long as you maintain audreys character the physical shouldnt matter however many audiences expect the blonde audrey bob so its a 50/50 thing
thanks! lol! still want to know if shes wearing a wig :) lol ive gt naturaly blonde hair anyway but it long n its taken me years to grow it long so im nt having it cut short just for this! ill have to talk to my director! :)
This is the best rendition of this song on Youtube. I'm Audrey in my High School's production of Little Shop and this clip has been a wonderful tool for me! It's sincere and intimate - exactly how the whole show should be (despite all the crap clips on this site that suck the beauty out of this song by trying to be campy). Thanks so much for uploading!
I forgot to add that Seymour is amazing. I totally disagree with the opinions that say he's milking it or whatever... he's totally not. He's so sweet and honest - (I wish our Seymour understood that about the character!!) If you still think he's milking it, go watch the Sominex clip and pay attention to his reaction near the end of clip.
Yes! Finally a rendition on Youtube where Seymour and Audrey stay focused on one another rather than just singing to the audience! This song is at its best when it's most sincere.
wow. wow. wow. This is one of the best performances that I've seen. These actors are amazing! They stay completely in character throughout the whole song. LOVE IT!
"MrMorganOBrien (2 months ago) Well, trust me, Lyndsey CAN belt it out. The director of the show didn't want it that way, and, in professional theater, you've gotta do what the director wants... "
I think that was a superb performance. Wonderful singing and acting. Im grateful for You tube so that I can see this. Some people think they know more than they actually do. Anyway who WANTS to sound like someone else , the role was Lyndsey's to make it her own.
This is WONDERFUL, definitely one of the best versions that I have ever seen. Audrey was great, she actually reminded me a bit of Kristen Chenowith. And Seymour has such a wonderful voice, he's fabulous.
The performance was absolutely stunning and awesome. Seymour's voice was outstanding. Audrey sang well also. However, Seymour and Audrey look too old. Audrey does not look young and vulnerable like she should; she doesn't look very gentle. Seymour looks old and his face isn't right. Nonetheless, the performance was very good! Better than most!
Wow, she has a great voice! And she can belt too. They both fit the parts wonderfully, she's stunning! and Seymour looks exactly as I imagine him to look.
Well, trust me, Lyndsey CAN belt it out. The director of the show didn't want it that way, and, in professional theater, you've gotta do what the director wants...
This is funny, they are better than the movie version.... are they professional? I don't think so, so professional are beat by unprofessionals... that's awesome!
i take back what i said after watching this video a million times to see how I wanna play seymour for my audition i got used to morgan's rendition of seymour and i really like it now. they both made their parts their own which is great.
