A friend of mine has recently been working with some young Republican staffers in Washington on a big ‘tax freedom’ project.
The idea is that all those earning over $250k should be able to pay some or all of their tax liabilities to a charitable organisation of their choice, rather than the government. This is all about real economic freedom & will really help to get big govt. off our backs for good!
Hopefully it will be included on the GOP ticket next year!

Lower tax rates exist because that money needs to be spent to help run the economy. Any taxes in this day and age hurt the economy.

The 1950's, even though known by some as America's "golden years" saw little economic growth besides inflation. The federal reserve intervened several times in the economy to reduce inflation. The federal reserve was successful in it's attempts, but a small recession hit in the late 1950's. The 1960's however is known for huge growth in the automobile and technology industries.

If you can't afford 3.6% on income over $1,000,000 you are either greedy or have pisspoor self finance skills. Just sayin.

@Buffalo14228 The point I'm trying to make is, over the decades, the US economy has shifted from a manufacturing country into a country where the economy is reliant on consumer spending. 70% of the US economy is consumer spending. Lower tax rates exist because that money needs to be spent to help run the economy. Any taxes in this day and age hurt the economy.

The 1950's, even though known by some as America's "golden years" saw little economic growth besides inflation. The federal reserve intervened several times in the economy to reduce inflation. The federal reserve was successful in it's attempts, but a small recession hit in the late 1950's. The 1960's however is known for huge growth in the automobile and technology industries.

If you take away the tax breaks for jobs leaving and give a tax break to keep the jobs in the USA where they belong, then you will see unemployement numbers drop.

If John Doe pays 15 percent of his wages in tax in Year 1 and has to pay 10 percent in Year 2, that is a tax cut.
If John Doe pays 10 percent of his wages in tax in Year 10 and has to pay 15 percent in Year 11, that is a tax increase. It's as simple as that. To increase taxes in this economy will be disastrous.

Do the math, and that would be $2520. Now how will this break people? Then at the last minute the rate was to be applied to income over $1,000,000. If you can't afford 3.6% on income over $1,000,000 you are either greedy or have pisspoor self finance skills. Just sayin.

Today the top 1% of the nation pays 40% of taxes and the top 50% of the nation pays 97% of taxes. Yep that's right, the bottom 50% of the nation pays only 3% of the taxes. This is down from 2000, when the bottom 50% payed 4% and down substantially from 1980 when the bottom 50% payed 7% of all taxes. Read the numbers!
