03 wolfsburg with giac flash and more..live in West Virginia this winter was below freezing and still is to this day no problems starting at all turbo cars sometimes need a couple trys to start thats just the way they are
I can't say much, i don't live anywhere near that temperature, i can tell you this much, the mass airflow sensor and the spark plug coil packs are known to go bad in this jetta.
haha yeah no doubt, i was just wondering cause i dont wanna drop a lot of money for a car then have to keep putting more and more money into it to keep it running properly.
@brontoe Got a 2001 1.8t, there was a recall on the coil packs, so head to your local dealer and get them replaced (I know its an old post, but heck, free coil packs!).
@mybigblackfriend Will let you know, in a few months it will start getting cold where I live, got the car last december, and I haven't had any trouble starting it.
Its bascially an, ""Echoe""... Metal aluminum piping helps, Taking off the carpet on your hood helps too, and the DV is Metal so its spring loaded. Which means You hear metal hitting metal.

i hear the jettas have a lot of electrical problems and won't really start in the winter when it's 0 degrees fahrenheit,
have you had any problems like that since you've owned yours?

what DV,BOV do you have?
bdix69 3 years ago
I put my DV on backwards which makes it louder and the turbo spool sooner. Its a Forge DV.
brontoe 3 years ago
could i do that to my stock one?
bdix69 3 years ago
doesn'r hurt to try... give it a shot, it'll take u like 10mins to take it off, make sure u have rings clamps on it.
brontoe 3 years ago
hey i have to go get some, ill post up a vid of me doing it and seeing if it works. how does it make it louder?

its like that in the stock DV to? if i take off the carpet on the hood could i put it back on if i did not like it?
bdix69 3 years ago
No the stock DV is plastic and rubber. And the carpet has clips on it. I threw mine away, u don't really need it. Its just for sound muffle.
brontoe 3 years ago
Sounds pretty good. A little bit a' drone, but not bad. I'd go get a high-flo cat from magnaflo. That's where you really notice the difference.
myjettaisabel 3 years ago
Thats true, it will sound better with what u are saying. Problem is, high flow cats tend to be illegal in california. i can't do that. but goodluck!
