Mustaine plays both Rhythm and Lead 's in Megadeth, both him and Broderick have talked about this. They switch off depending on how technical the Rythm piece is, if its simpler Mustaine plays leads, if it difficult than Broderick takes over the soloing throughout.
It's evident from the interview that Mustaine really loves James, it's such a heartfelt experience for him, and Metallica is a big part of him as well as a major source of bitterness.
@MrSmashman1981 Apparently he had some Slayer stuff he had to work on. He wanted to be there - he said that personally - but he couldn't because there was some Slayer stuff he had to finish or something, it was kinda vague. He was there for the later Big Four jams though.
@spykp Nah he's been clean since the late 90's, thing is, he did so many drugs back in the day that he's probably constantly high for the rest of his life haha. Gotta love the guy though.
@MACARONIEMANIAC Ah then there is no question, broderick is better at lead guitar than anyone in the Big 4, no doubt. Although i prefered Megadeth with marty, the 3 first megadeth albums with marty on are epic.
@Sickz666 Well Broderick is a machine... Seriously. The guy plays circles around ANYONE, his skill level is over 9000... No shit.
Oh and the trailer is so flawed... Kill 'em All is from '83, and Dave Mustaine is the rhythm guitar player... Yeek.
Oh, and not *just* Mustaine, Ian and Lombardo were up there... The entire Megadeth and Anthrax was there and ffs King is the main rhythm guitar player, while Hanneman is the main lead... Gargh!.
OMG, what a shame, many mistakes, kill'em date, then am i evil is from garage inc. & not KEA. Finaly, Mustaine is the leader of Megadeth but not the lead guitar ...
@Glazeman11 ahahah FAIL on Glazeman11 Dave AND Chris both switch off, there is no lead or rhythm guitarist in megadeth, its just 2 guitarists that both do solos
@Ivan4131994 Ugh! Fail on you bitch I have most their albums and it has Dave as Rythm in the booklet. The only songs they switch off is Holy Wars, Hanger 18 and some others... Shut the fuck pussy and put that dick in your mouth.
@Glazeman11 the conguring, hangar 18, return to hangar, blackmail the universe, my last words, sweating bullets, burnt ice, holy wars, good morning, kick the chair, wake up dead, last rites, five magics, devil's island, mechanix, set the world afire, lucretia, ashes in your mouth, victory.
@Ivan4131994 Well, I am a guitarist as well and I use do tours with a pantera tribute band and Carnifex. Like I said before he did some leads on almost of his songs but not solid enough to be considered a lead guitarist. Because he is too busy playing rhythm so Chris is the lead not Dave. Stop arguing with me about this. Shits stupid.
@Glazeman11 i never said dave is lead guitarist, they are bot just guitarists who do solosthe only reason you think is stupid now is because you got nothing to say, but alright you can stop complaining to me about dave being rythm guitar.
@johnnyluvstacos My understanding is actually that the two guitarists alternate quite a bit between lead and rhythm. Just watch them play holy wars, both of them do solos, lead and rhythm riffs.
@guitarmaniac1123 I know Dave's a phenominal player but I was always under the impression that his official position in the band was singer/rythm player. I do know he solos sometimes though. I mean, when you rip that good, why not?
Am I Evil was released on the 1984 Creeping Death single along side with Blitzkrieg then later added to the re-release of Kill Em All to Electra records in 1988.
No disrespect to Kirk and all previous bad blood aside, I can't help but think of what an even greater band metallica would have been if things worked out with mustaine. But then there'd be no Megadeth ofc.
Jeez Dave is all hungover. if ya look at his left eye , ya see the puffiness of way too much wine. Thats his thing nowadays - red wine, haaaaa a lil too much that night!
@joeknee4767 dude open your eyes and realize that they have been chillin out together, probably passing around some of tha big funky magic 4 stuff aswell :P
to everyone having issues with when am i evil was released... the song was featured on kill em all but not when it was first released it was later added to the album but i cant remember exactly when
There's so many things wrong with her statement. Kill 'Em All was released in 1983 and Am I Evil? wasn't released on the first issue of Kill 'Em All and wasn't released until the 1988 Elektra reissue.
Dave has degenerative disc disease in his neck, it makes the sufferer look older and haggered, he's probably on meds for it too, so you can't blame him for looking a bit wreaked.
I thought that Kerry King was pissed with Dave Mustaine or something like that and that was why he wasn't on stage... but now that I look at him, he seems friendly...
@lild219 Yes it was hahaha It was an origional bonus track until the put it on garage inc along with blitzkrieg look it up. My friends dad has the origional CD with those two songs on it its amazing haha
@ididregister Dude, don't kill the atmosphere. Marty likes pop and working with the J Pop scene. He said he didn't really like heavy metal that much. I want full solidarity between the bands with this thing!
@TheMetalheadPenguin no i didnt use any other reference other than metallica for the point that i was defending them and had no point to need to bring up a different band... thats how i win, i choose relevant topics and countres to what your mindsless head had to say... and piece of advice for you, dont be one of those stuck up cunts who go watchign vids just to hate, get a life and learn your place in this world, cause what you and i both have to say really dont matter at all in the end
I feel bad for Kerry, but he did it for the whole world instead of sofia it selves. Even If I'm in his shoes, I would love to join but more people from the whole world want to see the historic moment than I do. :)
@TheMetalheadPenguin haha...you kept repeating what i'm saying...you really are dumb and brainless...better off if you die..maybe the earth will have some use for you...hahaha
@TheMetalheadPenguin no you lost the war the moment you mentioned a recording artist that doesnt belong in a metal converstaion.... and how would you know what i listen too huh like really if i have to send a list of all my influences i will, as for you good you only use slayer megadeth and anthrax therefore i will assume these are the only bands you are goign to ever use as a reference... so grow the fuck up, actually know and reasearch your shit, dont be a stuck up cunt...
@TheMetalheadPenguin i actually dont only revolove around metallica, unlike you i listen to every kind of metal that i get my hands on because if you only listen to one type metal then your fucked as you are cause you dont know a thing that you are talking about.... and who the fuck is justin Bieber your lover or something like really dont bring up pop music on a metal video.... so save yourself the embarresment and dont bother saying anything, cause you lost this battle long ago your mindless
@Metaldood4500 shut the fuck up im fucking sick of stupid jokes about the dislike bar and stupid jokes about justin bieber and if i hear one more comment about justin bieber on a metallica video then i will shit a brick and smash your face with it
@Metaldood4500 how many people do you think said that same joke? you only said that because you aren't fukn smart enough to post anything more than copy and paste a stupidass joke from another video. and no, justin bieber is not better than metallica and you know that. that was an epic fail attempt to piss me off and an epic fail at a troll comment. go troll on a justin bieber video rather than bringing his bullshit to the big 4 you dumb fuck
So, Dave won't play satanic songs anymore, but he'll tour with Slayer, who sings satanic songs?
(Yes, I know Slayer ain't really satanist and I am a fan of both Megadeth and Slayer).

@TheMetalheadPenguin
You're an idiot. Your opinion on Slayer's albums is subjective.
Everything Metallica has done has been great besides St Anger.

Metaldood4500 1 year ago
@Metaldood4500 how many people do you think said that same joke? you only said that because you aren't fukn smart enough to post anything more than copy and paste a stupidass joke from another video. and no, justin bieber is not better than metallica and you know that. that was an epic fail attempt to piss me off and an epic fail at a troll comment. go troll on a justin bieber video rather than bringing his bullshit to the big 4 you dumb fuck
