some corners are ment to be drifted but not all turns.if u whur racin and u drifted every single corner on a mountain...you lose. period. driftin is a good thing for hairpins tho cuz it keeps up your RPM. Touge 4 life!

Drifting proper is the hardest of all the driving styles and its the fastest. What theyr really comparing is racing and "stylish" over steer. That is not drifting. Drifing is when there is little 2 no countersteer yet ur car or bike is rotating. Nothing is faster 4 low to low-medium speed corners in a car with low downforce...nothing.

The fastest way to drive is to follow the perfect line. NOTHING is faster than that. Grip and drift are techniques to follow that perfect line. Plus you can only drift so much before your tires start to lose grip, part of the fastest time is conserving your tires. And your definition of drift is wrong. Drifting is when the moving car is turned sideways facing the inside of the corner while the tires are pointing to the outside of the turn.

Remember, drifting is NOT the fastest way into a corner. It's only used when you cannot find the perfect line due to someone cutting you off or whatever.

As fun as drifting is, its simply an exhibition. Racing is and will always be about speed. And there's nothing more exhilarating and equally satisfying than attacking the canyons/mountain passes/touge as fast as one can.

very nice comparison. as i posted before i do canyons and as jim said it is way riskier than drifting. Money is involved in the both of them as UNIT23 said and most of us dont have that kind of muhlaaaaahhh so we just go for wat we can.

my personal opinion, even though is riskier, touge or canyon runs 10 times better.
