I tried your recipe today for dinner and it was amazing. I have never made asparagus before because I never knew it would be so easy. I can't wait to try more of your recipes.
I use this same process for bell peppers, broccoli, sweet pearl onions and potatoes... OMG it's sooo good. I tried asparagus with this method a few weeks ago and it's the ONLY way I actually like (LOVE) asparagus.
This was really awesome - I'm a single guy who's finally trying to learn how to cook, and this was really helpful - thanks for explaining everything so clearly! I look forward to checking out some of your other recipes. Thanks!
Thank you for this video!!! I just tried it and it's so easy and they taste wonderful! (I used a seasoning salt with a special sea salt, lime, rose and ginger mix- and I found this really added some more depth and dynamic to the flavour!)
@Peppermintface Wow. And then people complain that the video is too long, too much detail, etc. What is wrong with you people? Just assume that she's washed them already or wash them yourself, unless you need a video tutorial to tell you how to do that.
i tried to make it just now. it came out mushy. =( .. i put it for 20 minutes at 400 degrees. i know how some ovens are different than others...so how can i tell when they're ready? also.. does it make a difference if i don't peel the ends..i forgot to. and i don't have any balsamic vinegar..would apple cider vinegar work?
@funsized eat an asparagus when u r cooking for the 1st few times... once u r familiar with your equipment u will just know when its cookeed by time, colour and texture when u lift an asparagus.. . as for vinegar, balsamic and apple cider are completely different taste... but personally i think it will still work
i don't know if you're trying to be smart, or just an idiot. 400 degrees celsius? do u seriously think an oven needs to be that hot to cook fucking asparagus lol? kelvin? yes dude, we're going to be using kelvins on our ovens
PLEASE invest in a wireless lapell microphone. Good ones are less then 100 dollars and they make a HUGE world of difference in the sound quality in a video!
Great video though! I LOOOOOVE aspargas and can't wait to try it this way. I have always blanched and pan fried aspargas so this is exciting for me.
I found this on the Internet and came here to comment. I made this Sunday for dinner. In lieu of using the Salt, I used a Garlic and Herb seasoning that was zero Salt and zero MSG. Let me tell you . . . the BEST Asparagus I have ever tasted and it was my very first time making it. I am a Pescetarian who eats mainly Raw Food and this will definitely be added to my list. Thank you! =;)
A great variation is to add lightly toasted sesame seeds once they're roasted. . pan toast the seseme seeds and then sprinkle them on the finished asparagus.
I usually use my George Foreman grill to grill asparagus, and it comes out really well, but I'm going to try this method today. I have a T-bone steak just waiting and I want my asparagus just right to go along with it.
Loved this..also I had forgotten how Asparagus is so good for you too. Thanks for posting this..I shall steal your method as steaming, as you say, tends to loose flavour, flavor? (UK here) Thats so weird we have that spelling thing! Love Asparagussy. Best.
delicious recipe thank you for sharing. one question though. can i make this recipe with different kinds of vegetables like broccoli and carrots?

Great Recipe, but you over cooked them, 20 minutes is way too long, 10 mins would be fine, otherwise they become too soft.
