Great 2 c this video again after a few years AOL this video was filmed in Auckland NZ at Victoria park This I know as I am the lady in the back ground spinning ropes. The Mockers were a great band to work with. We all enjoyed a great Chinese meal at tea break, as this took many hours of work. Loved their music both then and now.
my dad used to know the drummer, sadly he hung himself... they disbanded after that what a shame... apparently they'd just been to new york and been very well recieved
as far as i remember, stevie was found dead in his car one morning
don't know if it was suicide or an unlucky fumes poisoning
i do know he was worried about the band making it in the usa as he had a conviction for something (don't remember for what) and was worried he wouldn't be able to get in
bloody shame, he was a genuine guy and deserved a shot at the big time
Oh my goodness, this brings back memories of when i was a teenager. I knew the Mockers and went backstage and waiting on the wings. The keyboardist is in Australia and doing wonderful, played at a concert in Rockhampton, Qld, Australia back in 2004. I remember the drummer, he was the nicest guy. Such a shame.
The name comes from a Beatles quote. I'm sure they wouldn't have ever heard of any bands from Uruguay as it's quite unusual for people in the English speaking world to listen to non-English music. Besides the Uruguayan band is called Los Mockers, not The Mockers.
Great video, put a little something on my Blog about this band but unfortunatly not alot of info is available about them. If someone could plesae e-mail me their discography as well as the band members nams it would be very appreciated. Also any other info you wish to include on them would also be helpful.
Still kewl ...even after so many moons have past... also gr8 to still hear him/karen lurking about on the wireless... and thnx for putting this little gem up!
fagaflipz lol so funny your dad was my pop idol in the 80's! i was so in luvv! had all the mockers records and posters all over my walls the drummer was cute too! haha now i feel old!
God, me too!!! My wardrobe door was covered inside and out with posters. I would buy every single mag with info about them. I even got into a scrap with another girl cos she stole one of my posters! Boarding school!
cool dude --just a joke , you know what they say about musos having a girl in every town , heck i've been a muso in nz for years--i could be your dad hahaaaa , but since you live with the guy well that kinda confirms it.
Andrew Fagan is my dad :)

Does anyone know what the theme song was to Radio wth Pictures?
WhtwaBBiT 2 years ago
I do know it was an Iron Maiden song. Working on the title..........
alroy65 2 years ago
I thought it was by Nina Hagen? I'm sure I had the record at one stage
WhtwaBBiT 2 years ago
@WhtwaBBiT They had at least three different theme songs. The mid `eighties one was a tune called "This Heaven" by Marginal Era.

Too bad they jacked the band name from an uruguayan band that was even compared to the Rolling Stones (genre-wise)

@LunaticEntrails Hello from the Central Coast of NSW !
My close friend is David Richards, the Engineer. We still enjoy this blast from the past.
David is very proud of his work for the Mockers.
Best wishes.

According to legend this song was inspired by the Queen Street riot that rocked downtown Auckland in late 1984.
